Michael Bruckeheim is an amazing attorney and makes you feel like a friend rather than a client. I knew he was an excellent choice from the start as he spent over two hours on the phone with me on a Saturday morning. He was straightforward about all the possible outcomes of the case, which I really appreciate. He also gave me some courses prior to my court date which really helped my case. The outcome of my case was so favorable it’s almost as if she had scripted it!
Attorney Sei-Hee Arii has a 360 degree bird’s eye view of the legal system and the courtroom.I was facing very serious charges with almost certain jail time if convicted. I initially thought of defending myself but my family compelled me to seek council.
I reached out to Attorney Arii the day before my 1st trial date (don’t be like me, make contact now) and requested her counsel. She was extremely understanding, honest about the situation and the possible outcomes but above all VERY RESPONSIVE! I immediately knew I was in good hands and could trust her. Best decision I’ve ever made! In court she laid out a multi-point strategy that accounted for every possible scenario the prosecutor or judge could present and sure enough it went as she planned.
During court I witnessed someone with an almost identical case as mine (yet with a better driving record) be found guilty and sentenced to jail time, however Miss Arii got ALL of my charges DISMISSED! I went home a free man! I am extremely grateful! I contacted Mr Hoffman on behalf of company over a contractual dispute. The opposing party had developed a majority of their financial basis for indemnification on matters not relevant to actual contract law. Additionally, the opposing attorney had made numerous errors in their filing. What I’ve highlighted is just a small portion of what Mr Hoffman was able to point out quickly and change the direction of this discussion toward a mediation and a “reasonable” level to negotiate. I felt Mr Hoffman did what was in my companies best interest to make matters practical and not emotional. As a small business owner trying to get by, the last thing I want is to deal with nuisances of a frivolous lawsuit… having Mr Hoffman on my side certainly brought clarity and confidence how we could handle this matter without creating an unnecessary and complex trial out of this.
Another item to highlight is that Mr Hoffman was quick to return calls/emails. When I originally reached out, he answered his phone. Can’t say that about any of the other attorneys I inquired with and I reached to a handful.

Called him late one evening to inquire about how to obtain my business license. He didn't get annoyed that it was after working hours. Instead, he promised to look it up first thing the next morning and get back to me which he did. He provided me with all the information I needed to get my business license. 5 stars is all this website offers but he gets 20 stars from me.

Top caliber lawyer. I had a home improvement contract I was struggling to get out of after the contractor kept delaying the work and tried to bait and switch me with the materials they were going to use. He was thorough in going through the details of the contract and pragmatic about what my legal options were. Drafted a very well written letter to the contractors requesting a cancellation of the agreement which they promptly obliged to. Saved me a lot of headache. I'd recommend him without hesitation.

Then, I had the privilege to set up a time with him to have a consultation him. I found him a very knowledgeable and resourceful person. Mal is great at this -- He listened intently, read over all paperwork and evidence and won my case in a very masterful manner. It was a first time DUI charge, no priors, no accident, with refusal to blow. I was instructed on steps to take prior to my hearing, preparation, and what to expect. Come hearing-time, I was ready to plea, but he took it trial and was found not guilty, and only paid traffic citations. In the future, I will recommend Mal's office to friends and family.

Met Jules almost 10 years ago and he created a new will and trust to meet my needs. Recently needed to update my will and other docs and called Jules for his advice and service. A family member recently received two underage drinking citations within a few month period. The close proximity of the charges threatened to leave a permanent record that could be a burden to the client's reputation and advancement for years. In this somewhat unusual case, Bill Henry proposed a creative solution to the Court that was accepted and ultimately resulted in the complete dismissal and expungement of all charges. Bill's ongoing timely communication to multiple Maryland state officials and to us, his clients, was exemplary. We were continuously updated by phone, email, and in personal meetings, as to the status of all proceedings. We felt that we were receiving the care and expert service that clients with much larger cases (and budgets for legal services) might expect. I have worked with mr Henry twice on two different cases. The first was my fathers estate
It was a very sticky mess and required knowledge of all different aspects with properties under water and extreme debt. However mr Henry handled the estate well and everything worked out so well. He gave the best advice and broke down all the legal jargon for me to better understand my options. The second was my own will he did it for my husband and I and did a great job. I contacted Ms. Demougeot to help my father and I with a criminal defense case in 2017. I contacted Mr. Rand less than a week before my scheduled hearing date. His fee for the initial consultation was very reasonable and overall his charges are reasonable. During the consultation we were able to figure the focus of my case which was a great help among all the issues I wanted to include. I decided to present my case myself and Mr. Rand spent 4 hours with me on a rainy SUNDAY afternoon to help me prepare. Tom knows many different areas of law- my complaint was against a condo association- his preparation helped me overcome the opposition which had TWO high priced lawyers presenting their case.
I would (and WILL) work with Tom in the future and highly recommend him to anyone looking to hire a knowledgeable attorney with solid credentials.

I was referred to Joel Zuckerman by another outstanding lawyer, Stephen Alexander Shechtel (has a perfect 10 rating on Avvo) whom was recommended to me by a trusted friend’s lawyer, Brian Sadur. This friend (a doctor and father), who had experienced an international marriage/divorce with a Japanese national, fully understood the custody challenges involved when divorcing a Japanese National—for context: Japanese culture advocates sole custody to the Japanese parent as the only and safest option for all Japanese (mixed or otherwise) children (hence Japan’s nickname “the black hole of child abduction”). This friend, who despite being a father and non-Japanese, managed to successful win fair custody access to his children against a Japanese mother—therefore his recommendation was clearly sound. Because of gross manipulation and abuse of the courts by my ex-husband’s lawyer, Jessica Markham (read my google review of Jessica Markham for a more thorough understanding of her slimy fermented underskin), I didn’t get the opportunity to follow-up on the recommendation until after my children were kidnapped in Japan from the USA by their father/my-japanese-ex-husband. Shechtel was unable to take on a new case at the time, but he referred me to Joel Zuckerman, who is not only an exceptional lawyer with an intact moral compass (as he took my case knowing I had already extinguished all my funds on legal fees up to that point), but whom also is experienced with complicated international custody cases.
When working on my case, I was blown away by how efficient and concise he worked with his time and communication (being mindful to not waste any of my already depleted funds). He always gave me straight answers (even when he knew it wasn’t the one I wanted to hear) and managed my expectations of what he could or couldn’t do for me. He also worked very fast to meet my fast moving Japanese court deadlines (as my ex always turned in his motions late leaving little time to prepare rebuttals—a shady trick Markham also used in US court). Despite managing my expectations realistically of a low recovery rate with Japan (to date, no non-Japanese parent has ever successfully recovered their child from japan through the Hague convention, and those recovered by other means are estimated to be around 4% in the last 40+ years), he successfully coordinated with my Japanese lawyer, Takao Tanase, to recover my children from parental abduction by means of a Habeas Corpus motion in Tokyo High Court—an insanely difficult task and even more rare feat. I can’t recommend Joel enough to parents in complicated custody battles and feel you won’t find a more hardworking and efficient lawyer with an intact integrity.

Joel Zuckerman represented me during my divorce and support enforcement/recalculation proceedings. I feel extremely fortunate to have had Joel's assistance through one of the most difficult times in my life. He is honest, professional, extremely thorough and well-prepared at all times. He also responds to questions almost instantly, which is very reassuring when your life is turned upside down by divorce. To this day I am impressed by how well he knew the facts of my case, how he checked in on me throughout the process to make sure we were working on long term solutions that would work for my family, and how he zealously protected my interests when I needed it most.
My perspective is somewhat unique. Because of Joel's excellent advocacy, I was able to attend law school after my divorce. I now know that Joel has a reputation for being a hard opponent to beat in court, but is also well-liked within the legal community. This means that Joel is tough when you need him to be, but adheres to professional standards in a way that benefits, not harms, his clients' interests. I met Mr. Zuckerman by accident. I got a temporary protective order from my ex and I was given the names of 3 attorneys to call. I found Joel Zuckerman on my own without recommendations. I called all 4 attorneys and Mr. Zuckerman was the only one that went above and beyond what I expected. It was my first time going through this and I did not know what to do, think or expect. However, he went directly to the court to get the recording of what my ex told the judge that allowed the judge to grant a temporary protective order. I was impressed. I hired him and during my the protective order hearing he was able to turn everything around. I then hired him for custody because there was an agreement signed that I had no clue of what certain things meant, but he represented me well and I was able to get additional items reverted from the contract I signed.
A few years later I hired him again for custody and we won custody and about $1800/month in child support. He was able to uncover a lot of income my ex was hiding. I couldn't have gone through my custody without him. He is experienced and professional, but most importantly he cares.

After being charged for 2 counts in VA, the plaintiff brought the same charges in the state of MD. This is when I hired Ms Riggins.
She took my case, help me overcame my frustration and then represented me in this matter. There were three counts against me in MD. There was also a bench warrant issued for me in the state of MD. After hiring LIsa- Marie, I did not have to worry and deal with the prosecution and the state of MD. She consolidated all 3 cases in one and then on December 1, 2015 we appeared in court and all the criminal proceedings were dismissed.
Thanks to her knowledge of law and professionalism, I did not have to worry for a second that I would be found guilty of a crime. She kept constant communication with me explaining how she handled my case and the communication with the prosecution. I was left with no doubt that she was working hard and build a wall between me and the prosecution.
The result was that the 3 counts were dismissed and I was found not guilty of a crime.

My family and I engaged Mr. Ronald Karp following my involvement as a victim in traffic accident (involving a truck) in 2012. Mr. Karp reviewed the case as it stood, and with his staff meticulously ferreted out the evidence to support my case. That evidence uncovered proved irrefutable and the several aspects of the case (medical, insurance, adequate compensation) were reviewed and comprehensively addressed.
The fees for handling my case were addressed up-front without any further ‘add-ons’ that might have been otherwise expected. Mr. Karp was involved in interviewing me first-hand and was involved in acquiring medical reports on the extent of my injuries. At no stage was there any coercion, for me or my family, to settle on any offered compensation.
