Failed to adequately assist us in the case we hired her for, including falling to conduct adequate discovery mere days before our scheduled mediation. When called on it, she was aggressive and failed to take accountability even after acknowledging to my brother and I she was busy handling trial matters. Awful bedside manners and rude. We fired Patricia Boyse and had to immediately hire a new attorney, incurring substantial legal fees for the new attorney to come up to speed before the scheduled mediation. Horrible experience.

I want a good lawyer watching my back, talking to me straight, and with my best intentions in his heart and mind at all times and not a traitor or a sell out.... i've been through over 25 attorneys in my life and spent over $1.5mil dollars on them .... most of them are bums.... gutless automatons doing the bidding of the District Attorney's Office so they can stay in their good graces and squeak out a living for what is basically a pathetic career...
Paez and a few other of the eagleheart attorneys that I've run across in my 50 years in the criminal justice system.... 15 years of which has been behind bars, doesn't belong to that club .... which means he is a breath of fresh air; a great guy to have on your side ....one who is not gonna sell you out; not gonna okey-doke you ; which means he's an individual who's got a conscience and will do his best for you and when you or I need to be told something, he'll tell it to you straight up .
Blend that righteousness, yeah that's what I said, righteousness with knowledge , which is power, w/communication skills and a friendly.... " get along attitude " and you got a formidable goddamn opponent and a great lawyer representing you and me and that is precisely why I can't say enough good things about Michael Paez who spent extra hours on my stuff resolving two cases to my liking ....do you hear what I'm saying folks? He resolved them both to my liking ....he changed the DA's mind and their position and he got the judge to go along with it also....he's tenacious in a nice way. .....and he's equally vicious in a nice way also........meticulous, thorough well prepared, rested and ready to kick ass ! That's my boy right there ....you can't do better...do you hear me defendant .... you can't do better than Paez. Period . Never again will I hire this firm. My case was a few years ago but it was with this same firm and with Mr. Valencia himself. On the phone he mentioned good things like getting the best results for me possible and possibly getting the charges dropped. All good things you want to hear as a person searching for an attorney but that's not how it went. This guy showed up late to every single one of my court dates by half and or more. He pretty much just showed up to do what I was supposed to do, which is stand before the judge and respond to his requests. I have a prior criminal record so I wasn't expecting him to make magic but at least show up to my court date on time which he did not. All matters were called first who had attorneys but sure enough mine waited until he got there. I feel I would've gotten the same results without him for sure as he did very little communicating with the DA or anyone on the other side of the podium. To top it off on my last court date after not seeing him for over half an hour I called his firm and they informed me he was in redwood city helping someone else. Seriously not cool at all or professional. So they sent another attorney from his office but not until an hour and a half from when the court started. I'm not here to complain about my outcome from the court cause that was a separate issue but i am here to complain about the unprofessional relationship I had with Mr. Valencia and how I will never recommend or reach out to them again. So save your money or go elsewhere because I wasted $4000 for something I could've and should've done myself. Last but not least I think it's very unprofessional how in most of the reviews that are not favored to them they put the person on blast for the previous case they had with them. That's very rude, unprofessional and down right dirty. If they do not like the truth being put in the reviews then maybe they should not be practicing law and giving people false hope. So I won't be surprised if I see information about my case they handled on here based on the responses to reviews that aren't in their favor.

In November last year, based on online reviews, I started consulting with Riccardo. At the beginning, he was quite patient. I consulted several lawyers and eventually chose him based on online reviews and his claim during the consultation that there was a 99% chance of winning the case. I felt relieved to leave the case to him. However, after we paid him, he stopped communicating and never proactively kept in touch.
At first, I thought my case was not a big deal until I was charged and realized the seriousness of the situation. I spent money consulting another lawyer online, who advised me to write a character letter and resume before being charged, which could have helped. But Riccardo never asked me to do anything besides providing basic materials. He was also unwilling to communicate proactively, and I didn't dare to keep asking him questions. Whenever I had questions, they were relayed through his assistant.
Throughout this period, he didn't inform me of what he was doing, and I had no idea about his actions until my case became more severe. He didn't help me much during the whole process and even made excuses, saying the DA was too young to understand family difficulties, which made me feel he was very unprofessional. I had trusted him because he claimed to have 30 years of experience.
After my case resulted in a conviction, I didn't disrespect him until a week ago when I asked if he could attend court on that day. He agreed, and I was very grateful. But today, when I asked him, he angrily told me he was very busy. He could have refused me or informed me earlier. Instead, he made a lot of excuses.
I swear that this person is really unprofessional, and I even doubt if those positive reviews about him are real. I know that when someone makes a mistake and needs professional help, they might go online and look at reviews. If you don't want to waste your time and risk losing your case, you really need to be cautious and not rely solely on ratings. From my experience, sometimes they are not reliable. This is my personal experience working with this person, and I hope to share it with those who need help. I fully understand your feelings, but it's crucial to be careful when choosing a lawyer.

I've used Steven for a internal family matter. I must say he is very compassionate and wanted to see that the family stayed together rather than create some irreversible damage. I was referred to Jacklyn Bentley from the Bar Association. I was injured in a car accident. The defendant was 100% at fault. My car was totaled and my T11 injured. Geico refused to believe I was hurt. My first attorney filed the law suite because Geico would not settle. Unfortunately, he got ill and had to drop off. The second attorney had a heart attack and had to drop off on advice of his doctor. I spent two years trying to find an attorney while Geico beat me up. I contacted many attorneys. They all turned me down, as two attorneys had already been on the case. I went to the bar association for help. They sent me four attorneys to contact for a free consultation. Jacklyn was one of the attorneys. The case was complex. She was honest that her case load was such that she could not take the case but gave me several names to contact and encouraged me not to give up. She was extremely helpful and responsive to all of my questions. All the other referrals said no and left it at that. However,Jacklyn provided a lot of information about the legal process and gave me names of attorneys to try. She then went one step further and reached out to see how I was doing. She is more than a good attorney she is a compassionate caring human being. In the future if I need an attorney, I would not hesitate to contact Jacklyn.

Steve helped me with my divorce process starting in 2017.
Before I hired Steve as my attorney, I was close to a settlement with my X-spouse. At the 11:59 hr., my X-wife changed to a new lawyer. It was clear that my X-wife new attorney, being an intellectual property lawyer himself, was after my business and patents since he knew me prior to my separation with my X-spouse and knew that I had a start-up company with intellectual properties. CONFLICT OF INTEREST for this attorney by definition here.
At this stage I knew I needed legal representation and decided to go with Steve Huynh after a recommendation from a financial professional. After a very careful review of my case, Steve asked me what outcome do I want and if the settlement that I was close to settling with my X-spouse was acceptable. I told Steve that would be fine. In the next year, we went over various unnecessary discovery processes as demanded by my X-wife’s attorney. Steve was very methodical and extremely careful with all the details. This is why I term Steve highly technical. Furthermore, he never said anything that was unrealistic or overpromising about the case. He never fabricated anything in anyone’s favor. Steve’s integrity and honesty was impeccable.
In the end and after a year of needless waste of my time and money, Steve helped me to settle with my X-wife with very much what we were close to what we have almost agreed on previously. It was a very upsetting process for me and putting my kids through more pains than it needed to be. Steve tried his best to push the process forward quickly.
Without any reservation, I would recommend Steve to anyone as an attorney to help them in legal matters.

Richard is not only a experienced Trial Attorney but also a man that has a heart of gold! Rich represented my wife in a case that had so much stinch of police corruption, and got much truth during the Preliminary Hearing by cross examining the witnesses. He had prepared many questions and delivered them so elequently yet brought out the truth and lies of the alleged Victim. Stay away from John Hinkle and Richard Pointer, this law firm will charge you an arm and a leg and you will get screwed HARD in the end. First of all he will fee you for everything on top of the $15K for hiring him. He is hard to get in contact with, I feel like when I see him he just doesn't give a flying crap about you or your case and doesn't even shake your hand. One time I went to court and he was never there! I had to go up to the judge and say "my lawyer isn't here to represent me". He lost my motion to dismiss, he is slow, old, and will confuse you while on the stand. look for someone else.

Michael is a horrible lawyer to handle the case, He is very aggressive and make you fight hard so that he made the easy case more complicated. I would definitely recommend everyone to stay away from Mr. Rad unless you are willing to risk your case in the court system and also want a guaranteed inflated bill. He has history of suing his own clients if they do not agree to pay the inflated bill; be careful with what you share with him.

AVOID AVOID AVOID. If you are looking to waste your money without any results then Travis Whitfield is for you.
I have been dealing with my divorce, child custody, and child support issues for over a year now. Travis and his team got involved and screwed that all up. Everything has been delayed due to him fumbling with the case. He paid little to no attention to the case and passed it along to multiple associates and paralegals to WASTE your money.
Throughout my case, most of the time when they sent over documents for me to review and sign, I always had them correct one thing or another, they were hardly ever accurate. Yet, they still billed me to correct THEIR mistakes. There is a long laundry list with this law firm.
If I can help at least 1 person avoid this law firm; I have done my job. You don't want to add to your problems during your hard times looking for a capable lawyer. Don't waste your time and money with this law firm.

I got a recommendation to check this lawyer for my divorce by a friend I say whose judgment I could trust. He asked what I wanted.
I said I want to make it as amicable as possible, I want what is fair, I want my peace, my freedom and most of all I want my kids to go through this as smoothly as possible. the best words he made were after the first court day in which I was shell shocked he did not do or say anything to advance or make known our contentions. The very first court day a few minutes before we even were called in to the courtroom I knew then that I made a very big mistake. As we were preparing all that I would say what about my, what about the, and what not. His one and best answer amongst was maybe we can add that in the next court day this is just the start!
When the proposals came and I so much had disagreement to some claims that were so absurd as we went along each proposal. Some I had no idea whatsoever how to proceed I asked what can you say, what legal advice can you give me. The best answer he has made was " well I do not know you are the one who has to decide what you want to do with it I am just putting note to make sure that we represent exactly what you want and how you wanted. One other answer he made was I do not deal with those financial stuff. It is not my line of specialty. So I asked maybe he can give me recommendations who to contact after all he has more than 2 decades at least of doing his job. But no he referred me to his secretary. First secretary left a few months after . I have a pending heart surgery. My job security is non existent, there is an active deliberate operation to try to get rid of me. My lawyer knew this so I am lagging with my payment of his services which is just about the only thing they are good in communicating with me. Now he is asking to be relieved from being his representative due to an irreparable relationship and an outstanding service fee. There never was an representation nor there ever was a relationship. I know nothing about law but I have common sense and I am in customer service. I am actively looking for a new lawyer that can simply just represent me for what is legally fair for me, the wife and the kids.
I did not know I hired a paralegal.

I believe Mr. Collins sat on my case and waited for the Insurance to just pay. He didn't go through the negotiations process and pretty much sat back & waited. I was promised things and never received them stating the law now changed. Mr. Collins also sent me for a mandatory physical exam by a worker comp. doctor whom then tried to blame me for the personal injury. Mr. Collins apologized stating it was his fault in sending me to that MD instead of choosing his own. He is personable, kind, and attentive, & returns calls. Once your claim has settled and need further assistance RE: insurance not paying remainder of claims as promised he doesn't respond to your calls.

Lack of follow-up
Extremely disappointed with my experience with Attorney Maing. Beware if you are going to consult his services. My husband and I have been trying to contact him and no have not received any response. We reached out to Maing & Co and was transferred to the San Jose office. Went to the location and nothing. Unfortunately, I reached out to him in 2019 and last spoke with his assistant in 2020. My car accident case is from 2018 and remains unresolved. I am still trying to reach him. Very poor services, professionalism, and communication.

I really didn't want to have to write a bad review, but I feel compelled to warn others of Mr. Maing's behavior.
I was extremely disappointed in my experience with him. If you are going to hire him, PLEASE be prepared to constantly follow-up on given deadlines immediately once passed (and trust me when I say you will need to follow-up). And even then, expect your calls not to be returned. My calls were not returned until weeks later, and only after I actually spoke with his boss. This happened on more than 3 different occasions, so please remember to document your conversations well. But the saddest part was that when my calls were returned, there was an excuse not acknowledging that the ball was dropped. I was thinking that I was mistaken until I started taking notes during my conversations with him. Initially, It wasn't until then that I realized that I was being told one thing initially, then told something completely different later on. I had to have a very frank conversation with Mr. Maing and only then was he finally truthful about his errors.
Unfortunately, this did not change his behavior. 6 months was wasted for a complaint that needed to be filed within a year of it actually happening. Perhaps with more experience, things may change

Don't know the law. Cannot make a legal argument. Deer in the headlight in front of the judge. Judge ask him a question. He answers like a school boy whom got into trouble, and cannot answer in a complete sentence. No prep for the court. Loses everything you send him, and magically find them when confront with proof of delivery. Says that he cannot find anything in his office, and blame it on the staff. One trick pony, "My dog ate my homework"..... defense. Should of learned it in elementary school, the teachers don't buy it, neither does the judge. There is reason why he is so cheap with 25 years of experience.
