I called seeking a simple answer, but the receptionist, Debbie, was unnecessarily rude. As the first point of contact for potential clients, her behavior leaves a negative impression and could deter people from even considering the attorney. There are many other law firms in Columbia where clients are treated with respect. If Debbie dislikes her job that much, she should consider finding a position better suited to her, as it’s unfair to take frustration out on others. If phone calls are being recorded, I hope her supervisor listen to the conversation and addresses the issue with her.

I hired Bennett Schiller for a very difficult case. I was told by several people he was an excellent attorney. Despite making the exclusive list of ‘Top 100 Trial Lawyers’ he took my case even though there was a really low cap on the amount he could make. It was obvious to me that my case was way below his pay grade when I read about him winning multi-million dollar cases. He still took the case and put 100% into it. Mr. Schiller is very professional and his staff Elizabeth and Jessica are knowledgeable and gracious. Each of them makes you feel comfortable with a very uncomfortable situation. The odds were against him in my case but he made it all make sense. This man is intelligent and extremely sharp. Being as successful as he is instead of resting on his laurels as he could do-he chooses philanthropy in his community which speaks volumes to his true character. I have zero regrets about hiring his firm and would recommend him to anyone I know with complete confidence.

July 2021 while residing in Greenville, South Carolina, I was rear ended resulting in a roll over and totaling my car. As I laid inside of my car awaiting extraction, I knew I was going to need a personal injury lawyer as this was way more than a fender bender.
The morning after the accident I met my personal lawyer and while meeting with him asked if he knew of a reputable personal injury lawyer. He did: Mr. Joel Hughes in the law office of Kenneth Berger in Columbia, SC.
Mr. Hughes contacted me right away and met me at my house within a couple days. He assured me Berger's office does work all over the State of SC.
Immediately, I knew I was in good hands. Mr. Hughes questions were stop on and lots of information was exchanged in the next few days.
I was assured I could contact Mr. Hughes at any time, for any reason; something I did often.
Mr. Hughes took over, allowing me the time to heal and recover. He did all the heavy lifting, all the calls, organizing of medical records, all the negotiations. I was always kept informed. My input was asked for. My settlement was my decision. I was never pressured.
My case took 15 months to settle, basically until I was released from my Doctors. In that 15 months, I never felt ignored, alone, a number, or a paycheck.
Would I use this firm again? Of course. Would I recommend this firm to others? Of course!
An added bonus, this firm does charity work in and around Columbia. How nice is that?

I found myself needing a lawyer and luckily found Brad with Kenneth Berger Law Offices. I knew I was in the right place when he referred me to another firm for my immediate issues.
While the other firm handled my problem very very well, I did end up back with Brad to finish up an even more important part of my problem that I didn't see coming.
These guys ARE VERY MUCH here to help and are thorough on every aspect of your needs, even when those needs may be better served by another office.
They really mean it when they say they don't take just anybody on as a client, but once they do, you can rest assured that you are in the hands of the very very best.

This law firm has been wonderful for me. I have used this law firm for my Workman Comp injuries, for my disability claim with social security, and when someone hit me in a head on collision. Everyone in that office is super friendly and will go out of their way to help you. Before settling, I had been hesitant to settle because something that would have cost me quite a it of money, Ernie assured me that it would be taken care of. After settling the insurance company would not pay for it, Ernie paid the bill for me (several thousands of dollars) out of his pocket. I say all this, to say, You can trust Ernie Trammel!!!!!

Excellent trial lawyer!! Loyal, honest, hard-working, and a bulldog in the courtroom. Travis worked hard on a case for me out of the goodness of his heart. He believes in doing what's right and this situation was a prime example. Let me explain...someone filed a suit against me and my company. My insurance company denied the case, but I remember Travis saying he, "Couldn't let me go in the courtroom alone." There were times I had to tell him it was time to go home. He stopped at no end to see to it that justice was served in the case. I told him the Plaintiff was wrong, and not only did he believe me; he proved it. When we got our day in court, he was on fire. Sharp on the law and efficient with language. Ultimately, the judge directed a verdict of not liable and justice was served. We didn't have to pay any money to the Plaintiff!! The question is not whether you hire him or not, it's how bad could the situation could've been if you hadn't.

I was injured two years ago in an accident that in no way was my fault. I was taken to the ER and immediately told I would need surgery. I didn’t have health insurance at the time and was worried about how I was going to pay for all of these unexpected medical expenses. During my hospitalization my husband contacted the Joye Law Firm. One of the best decisions we ever made! From the very start the truck company, driver, and insurance company involved claimed that even though a part of their vehicle had fallen off and hit me, it was not their fault. They denied any wrong doing and did not feel that they should be in any way responsible for me or my medical costs. It was a fight right from the beginning and not something myself, nor my husband, would have been able to handle on our own. We were faced with every hurdle you could possibly imagine: evidence getting thrown away, records and logs not being made available, doctors stating I was fine despite still suffering a broken bone that nobody thought needed to fixed. Seriously, you name it and it was an issue for us. The Joye Law Firm was there with us every single step of the way! They constantly were looking and fighting for what was in my best interest. Without their help my medical bills would have not been covered and I would be in serious financial distress, I would still be in need of a second surgery (in pain everyday as a result), and a host of issues I’d still be facing; in other words, I’d be in a completely different situation then I am in right now. I thought that I could deal directly with the insurance company regarding my accident that caused injuries. My brother who is in insurance told me to hire a good lawyer to represent me. My nephew became addicted to drugs 5 years ago. I brought him to Myrtle Beach in hopes of a new environment and to have the support of his family near him. In July 2016 drugs found their way back into his life and on August 14, 2016 he was arrested. I reached out to Billy Monckton, as I was unsure who I could turn to. Prior to my move to SC, I knew I had to find an attorney to represent me after relocating. I knew no one and took a chance using AVVO's website and sent an email off to Ms. Poe which provided my first surprise when I received a response within an hour acknowledging my inquiry and informing me that she was on vacation. Being the fastest response ever from an attorney, I chose to wait until she returned and I was settled to request a consultation. I recontacted her a week after settling in and realized I had a deadline approaching and hoped that a meeting to be arranged quickly to compensate for my failure to contact her earlier. I sent an email off to her and was surprised to see I had a voicemail from Keith her associate within the hour. I returned the call hoping not to sound anxious regarding my time constraints and Keith without being asked immediately offered me several times to meet in addition to offering a choice of offices that would be most convenient to my location. With little familiarity to the area he assisted me in choosing the location and I failed to make a note of the zip code. I called Keith since I was not able to find their office only to learn I was not even the right town. Before I could share my embarrassment along with the fact that a rescheduled appointment could eliminate my chances of meeting the hard deadline facing me. He had me on my way to their other office 30 minutes away and assured me not to worry and meet as planned. I was relieved and surprised by how gracious he was. I My wife and I were met by Ms. Poe and she would not allow us to be concerned about my mistake altering the time that was scheduled on our behalf. We were amazed by how welcome we felt along with providing all the time necessary to obtain all the necessary information, provide clarity about the process and insured all our questions were answered. In addition to the case issues she provided valuable information regarding some off topic questions we had concerning our move and the area. Referring to the title, I had never nor would I been able to describe a meeting with an attorney as being delightful.
