My wife and I strongly recommend the immigration law representation provided by the law firm of Oliver-Zhang Law. In particular, we are most grateful to Julie Oliver-Zhang and to her young associate Annjelica Slate.
Brief history – my (now) wife had travelled from China to the States almost 5 years ago to visit her best friend whom she know from childhood in China. Her tourist visa soon expired. She wanted to stay in the U.S. Shortly thereafter, I met her and I fell in love with her. I wanted to marry her. And I wanted har to feel secure that she could remain in the U.S.
I was familiar with Julie Oliver-Zhang as she is known by her lawyer peers as among the finest Immigration lawyers, as well as personal injury lawyers in Washington DC. Atty Julie Oliver-Zhang is a member in good standing and past governor of the DC Trial Lawyers Association, she has a prefect A-plus rating with Martindale Hubbell and an AVVO rating of 10 which is the highest rating for any lawyer. Clearly she is well respected by her fellow lawyers in Washington DC.
I was delighted that she agreed to take on our case - with a mission to obtain a Green Card for my soon to be wife.
Upon my first conversation with Julie, I was confident that we were in good hands. Her retainer agreement was reasonable. The staff at Oliver-Zhang law (Annjelica, Marcie, Rachel) were all up to date on the progress of our case, including but not limited issues such as asylum, my wife’s previous marriage in China which needed to dissolved (not an easy task to accomplish here in the U.S.). Our questions were always answered knowledgeably, with sound advice, on a timely basis.
The Oliver-Zhang firm was well prepared to file the seemingly endless volume of forms with the U.S. Customs and Immigration Services (USCIS). Julie and her firm guided us to provide detailed family histories requited by the USCIS, and proof of our own wedding (following my wife’s Chinese divorce). The firm advised us about the medical history that USCIS must know about each of us, as well as the needed immunization vaccines that USCIS demands.
I write this strong letter of recommendation of Oliver-Zhang law following the receipt of a Green Card for my wife! Now that my wife has her much valued Green Card she is a proud permanent resident of the United States.

Due to an injury sustained, our family didn't know what to do or where to turn. Like others who deal with a sudden injury and life altering situations we initially hired someone out of haste. We quickly learned that it wasn't the best decision and at that point began to research and look for another attorney.
This is where Gerry entered our life. He listened to us on the phone and was very straight forward, yet very caring and understanding. At a later time he came to our home for a sit down and we knew instantly we would have him represent us. From that meeting we realized that he truly understood the injuries sustained and the real impact that the injuries would have. Attorney Zambri was a true blessing in my 18 year injury litigation. Paul Zukerberg is the man. He defended my rights when they were clearly violated by a police officer (Terrance Sutton). This officer would then later become the first officer charged with second degree murder (in a separate case) in DC history. Terrence Sutton was very dangerous and because Paul was my attorney, Terrence backed off from harassing me.
Paul is the most sympathetic, caring, engaging, and smartest lawyer in Washington DC. I'd give him a thousands stars if I could pull them from the sky and put the in Google.

Subject: Disappointing Experience with Simeon & Miller Law Firm
I am writing to express my frustration with the legal services I have received from Simeon & Miller. I initially reached out to the firm in March after an accident in October 2023, which was not my fault. At first, the other driver's insurance company was working with me, but communication stopped, prompting me to seek legal assistance.
I turned to Simeon & Miller after conducting an online search and reading the firm's reviews. Unfortunately, that decision has proven to be a significant mistake. Despite the firm’s 20 years of service, I found only five reviews visible, which should have raised doubts about the authenticity of their online presence. This was a possibly my first red flag.
Since then, my experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. The lack of communication has been deplorable, leaving me feeling like I’m tracking a package rather than receiving the legal representation I need. After forwarding all the necessary information for my case, I was initially assigned a paralegal. Shortly after, I was passed on to another assistant, who informed me that she would compile everything and forward it to the attorney. However, after several follow-up calls, it wasn’t until September that I finally spoke to the lawyer handling my case, even though they had all the information since March.
When I did finally speak with the attorney, the call consisted of them asking a series of questions, explaining the potential value of my case, and inquiring about the lowest settlement amount I would accept. I was then told it could take another 90 days to potentially reach an agreement with the other party. As the 30-day mark approached, I received another call from the lawyer informing me that the case had settled at the original value they had quoted.
I then inquired about when I could expect to receive the check, only to be told that it could take up to another 60 days. To my surprise, I later discovered an email titled "Simeon and Miller" with no follow-up call, requesting me to sign papers for the release of the check. Despite my numerous attempts to contact the lawyer, I was repeatedly told they were unavailable. After leaving several messages, I eventually had to ask another representative for answers regarding my case, and they provided me with the information I needed. To date, I have still not received a call back from my lawyer.
Furthermore, I received a letter from the at-fault driver’s insurance company confirming that the check had been forwarded to the law firm, yet I still have not been contacted by anyone at Simeon & Miller. I am left to wonder whether they are holding the funds in escrow, potentially making money off my settlement while I continue to experience an unacceptable lack of communication.
If you are seeking timely and efficient legal representation, I strongly advise you to avoid Simeon & Miller. My experience has been prolonged, impersonal, and frustrating, and I will never use this firm again.

When I did finally speak with the attorney, the call consisted of them asking a series of questions, explaining the potential value of my case, and inquiring about the lowest settlement amount I would accept. I was then told it could take another 90 days to potentially reach an agreement with the other party. As the 30-day mark approached, I received another call from the lawyer informing me that the case had settled at the original value they had quoted.
I then inquired about when I could expect to receive the check, only to be told that it could take up to another 60 days. To my surprise, I later discovered an email titled "Simeon and Miller" with no follow-up call, requesting me to sign papers for the release of the check. Despite my numerous attempts to contact the lawyer, I was repeatedly told they were unavailable. After leaving several messages, I eventually had to ask another representative for answers regarding my case, and they provided me with the information I needed. To date, I have still not received a call back from my lawyer.
Furthermore, I received a letter from the at-fault driver’s insurance company confirming that the check had been forwarded to the law firm, yet I still have not been contacted by anyone at Simeon & Miller. I am left to wonder whether they are holding the funds in escrow, potentially making money off my settlement while I continue to experience an unacceptable lack of communication.
If you are seeking timely and efficient legal representation, I strongly advise you to avoid Simeon & Miller. My experience has been prolonged, impersonal, and frustrating, and I will never use this firm again.
