Unfortunately, I am no stranger to receiving traffic violations from our law enforcement here in South Florida. I recently moved to the city of Hollywood and Mr. Andrew Smallman was recommended with high regards. I reached out, and my call was returned promptly. The process was flawless and Mr. Smallman went above and beyond any attorney I have dealt with in the past, and I have dealt with many lol Mr. Smallman and his group will be my go to attorneys from here on out. I give him 6 out of 5 stars. He deserves the extra star for going above and beyond. He was able to get everything dismissed, like it never happened.

I give Ryan & the Tables Law Group my highest recommendation. I was refereed to Ryan by a friend, who had hired Ryan in a business litigation case that was successfully resolved. He highly recommended Ryan to me. They represented me in a real estate claim I filed and did a wonderful job throughout. Litigation is no simple process, it is not quick, or easy. That being said, Ryan was direct, frank, honest & professional on what to expect from the beginning. He demonstrated to me that he cared about my personal situation, as well as guiding me through all the legal details. When all was said and done, Ryan helped me reach a settlement. I felt that he was not just a very competent attorney, but treated me as a good friend who put my interests first.

Ryan performed a thorough review of the matter I brought to him. He then laid out his understanding of the law and all of the options available to me. He never pressured me one way or the other but I always felt that I could trust him. He brought my matter to a very satisfactory resolution and with that he has earned my full endorsement.

This review is a heartfelt recommendation for Rebecca Fischer, an exceptional lawyer and gracious individual. Like many others, I had to go through the challenging and emotionally draining experience of a divorce. To make matters worse, I had contacted various agencies that demanded a retainer fee to schedule a meeting, leaving me anxious and discouraged. However, Rebecca was unlike anyone I had consulted. Unlike the others, she contacted me herself, and her understanding and calming demeanor immediately put me at ease. Rebecca's dedication to my case and as an individual was unwavering. She consistently sought an amicable resolution and was always by my side, even when things got tough. Her steadfast commitment gave me the confidence that I was in good hands. Rebecca's expertise, dedication, and compassion were unmatched, and I highly recommend her to anyone in a similar situation. These words are a testament to Rebecca's reliability and enduring support. Despite the difficulties of a divorce, Rebecca made all the difference with her superior legal skills and compassionate approach. I am forever grateful for her guidance, support, and counsel. Therefore, I recommend her to anyone looking for an exceptional lawyer.

I met Rebecca when my husband of 33 years suddenly asked me for a divorce. My case was complicated. I worried very much about my adult children. I was lost. Rebecca’s genuine concern and commitment from our first meeting were key to the outcome. She made it all uncomplicated. Rebecca is an extraordinary lawyer and person. Her knowledge of family law and human nature, and her extensive and diverse legal experience make her an exceptional advocate for her clients. Additionally, Rebecca makes herself available immediately, as well as her staff. Her counseling and legal support go beyond any expectations. Meeting Rebecca changed my life. My new life has purpose and meaning because of her. My children are safe. This review is limited. There is so much more to tell. If you are reading reviews, it means you need a lawyer. Do not hesitate to reach out to Rebecca’s firm. You will be with the best of the best. I am so grateful for Rebecca and her team!

I was referred to Ms. Fischer by a friend who had Ms. Fischer represent her previously. What my friend shared with me is absolutely true. Ms. Fischer was "spot-on" in reviewing my concerns and more than able in advising me how to move forward. I was somewhat anxious and nervous when I entered her office and left confident with a game plan which I could move forward with. As my friend did for me, I would highly recommend Ms. Fischer. She was terrific.

I was in a bit of a jam, looking at a felony for multiple traffic infractions. Jason helped get that down to a misdemeanor. If it weren't for Jason, my life would be pretty much ruined right now.

I went with Atty. Rosner because he offered the lowest price amongst all the attorneys which was inclusive of representing me for trial if my case was to go to trial. $3000 when others were talking about charging anywhere from 10k to 30k for a felony charge. I was attacked and defended myself and I was charged. I don't have any priors, the so called victims had not been showing up for court for 2 years and finally one began to show up. If the attorney was aggressive enough, he should have been had this case dismissed. I was told I did not have to show up to any of the calendar calls because the attorney would show up on my behalf. After two years of my case lingering on where the so called victims were not showing up and a I having never been in trouble in my life I began to wonder why the case was dragging on...so I start showing up in court to see what was happening. I started to go to the calendar calls and saw that Atty. Rosner was seldomly at the calendar calls himself and that instead one of his peers would be there for him. The first thing that really should have been questioned and investigated is how I could be attacked in a Walmart and there be no so called videotape footage in a Walmart from the entrance and the front lane near the cash registers. I ended up taking a plea to a Misdeamenor which was recommend by Atty. Rosner and at the end of court in front of 50 plus people he told me where to go register for Probation and to let them know I am registering for a Misdemeanor Probation sentence. I really didn't need all those people out in the hallway to know I have a charge especially when those were not even people that were in my court room that would have known already. I know criminal records are public record, but there is no need to broadcast it. It Is certainly not something I am proud of. He did not go above and beyond at all. In fact the day I was scheduled for trial which was on a Monday I did not even hear from him via phone that Friday nor over the weekend. I was scheduled for 10:00 trial and did not talk to him until some minutes after 10:00am on the day of trial. Very scary. So much more should have been done to have this case dismissed when the so called victims had been served a couple of times to do depositions and never showed up for 2 years. Then all of a sudden one finally showed up after 2 years. Had videotapes of the incident been retrieved which the Atty. and his assistant stated Walmart told them there was no footage of the incident available. The only footage was a crowd of people watching something but you couldn't see what. I seldomly spoke to the Attorney, but dealt with his assistance Mary. Mary was good with relaying what little information there was to me and she did send over information when she stated she would. The atty. would call back when appointments where set although sometimes late which that I can understand. I just recommend if you are facing something serious, go with an attorney that is aggressive. The assumption was that these so called victims where not going to show up and that my case would be dismissed so nothing was done but to continue to wait, then 2 years later one started to show up and now I have to do probation and pay fees when I was the one attacked. I went to school and earned a BA in Criminal Justice and Masters in Education and now having a record although adjudication was withheld is still very insulting and disappointing to me. Zimmerman followed a young innocent man and killed him and walked away free claiming stand your ground and I who was actually attacked did the same in trying to protect myself and children and couldn't get a dismissal when the so called victims weren't even showing up.

What a Probate Lawyer Can Do for You

A probate lawyer assists with the legal process of administering a deceased person’s estate. This often involves guiding executors (if a will exists) or beneficiaries (if no will exists) through the probate process to settle the estate according to the deceased’s wishes or applicable laws. Probate lawyers can help validate the will, distribute assets, resolve disputes among heirs, handle outstanding debts or taxes, and ensure the estate is legally and efficiently administered.

Whether you’re an executor of an estate or an heir facing probate proceedings, a probate lawyer can help you navigate the often-complex legal process to ensure the estate is settled correctly.

When Should I Hire a Probate Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a probate lawyer when you are responsible for managing the estate of a deceased individual, especially in the following situations:

  • The estate has substantial assets: If the estate includes significant assets like real estate, investments, or business interests, legal assistance is often necessary to handle the distribution properly.
  • The will is being contested: If there are disputes among heirs regarding the validity of the will or the division of assets, a probate lawyer can help resolve the conflict.
  • The estate includes complex or unclear provisions: If the will contains complicated instructions or there are no clear beneficiaries, a lawyer can ensure that the estate is administered according to legal requirements.
  • There is no will (intestate estate): When a person dies without a will, the estate is subject to intestacy laws, which determine how assets are distributed. A probate lawyer can help navigate this process.
  • Debt or tax issues exist: If the estate owes significant debts or is subject to estate taxes, a probate lawyer can help ensure debts are paid appropriately and taxes are minimized.
  • Probate disputes: If family members or other parties are disputing the distribution of assets or challenging the executor's actions, legal representation is crucial to defending your rights and ensuring the estate is handled properly.

Hiring a probate lawyer early in the process can help avoid costly mistakes and ensure the estate is settled efficiently.

What Does a Probate Lawyer Do?

A probate lawyer provides a wide range of legal services to help manage and settle an estate. Their tasks can include:

  • Validating the will: Filing the will with the probate court and ensuring its legal validity.
  • Guiding executors or administrators: Advising the person responsible for managing the estate on their duties, including inventorying assets, notifying creditors, and paying debts.
  • Filing necessary paperwork: Preparing and submitting the legal documents required to initiate and complete the probate process.
  • Resolving disputes: Mediating or litigating disputes among heirs or between beneficiaries and executors, including challenges to the will or disagreements over asset distribution.
  • Handling debt and tax matters: Ensuring that outstanding debts, taxes, and estate taxes are properly calculated and paid from the estate’s assets.
  • Distributing assets: Ensuring that assets are distributed to the beneficiaries according to the will or intestacy laws, and that all legal requirements are fulfilled.
  • Closing the estate: Completing the final steps of the probate process, including filing a final accounting with the court and formally closing the estate.

How Are Probate Lawyers Paid?

Probate lawyers typically charge for their services based on the complexity of the estate and the nature of the legal work involved. Common payment structures include:

  • Hourly rate: Most probate lawyers charge by the hour, with rates depending on the lawyer’s experience and the complexity of the estate. Hourly rates can range from $150 to $500 or more.
  • Flat fee: For simple estates or straightforward probate tasks, some lawyers may charge a flat fee that covers all of the necessary legal work.
  • Percentage of the estate: In some states, probate lawyers are allowed to charge a percentage of the estate's value as their fee. This percentage typically ranges from 2% to 5%, depending on the size of the estate and state regulations.
  • Retainer fee: Some lawyers may require an upfront retainer fee, which is billed against as the probate process progresses.

It’s important to clarify the fee structure during your initial consultation to understand how you will be charged and avoid unexpected costs.

How Much Does a Probate Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a probate lawyer depends on several factors, including the complexity of the estate, the type of legal issues involved, and the lawyer’s fee structure. General cost estimates include:

  • Simple estates: For estates with straightforward assets and no disputes, probate legal fees can range from $2,500 to $10,000, depending on the lawyer's fees and the state's probate laws.
  • Complex estates: For larger or more complicated estates with multiple properties, business interests, or disputes, probate costs can exceed $10,000 and may reach $20,000 or more.
  • Hourly rates: If charged by the hour, expect rates between $150 and $500, depending on the lawyer’s expertise and geographic location.
  • Percentage fees: In some cases, a probate lawyer may charge 2% to 5% of the estate’s value, particularly for larger estates or those involving complex legal matters.

Always ask for a clear estimate of fees during your initial consultation to understand the total cost of probate representation.

Top Questions to Ask a Probate Lawyer

Before hiring a probate lawyer, it’s essential to ask the right questions to ensure you’re hiring someone qualified to handle your estate needs. Key questions include:

  1. What experience do you have with probate cases like mine?
Ensure the lawyer has experience with estates of similar complexity, especially if disputes or high-value assets are involved.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Ask whether the lawyer charges an hourly rate, a flat fee, or a percentage of the estate, and request a cost estimate.
  3. What is the likely timeline for my probate case?
While it’s hard to predict exactly, an experienced lawyer can give you a general idea of how long the probate process may take based on the specifics of your estate.
  4. What steps will you take to manage and distribute the estate?
Ask about the lawyer’s approach to handling debts, taxes, and asset distribution.
  5. Will you be handling my case personally?
In larger firms, junior attorneys or paralegals may handle some aspects of your case, so it’s important to know who will be working on your probate case.
  6. What are potential challenges we may face?
A good lawyer will be able to anticipate possible issues, such as will contests or creditor claims, and explain how they would handle them.

How to Check the Credibility of a Probate Lawyer

To ensure you’re hiring a reputable probate lawyer, follow these steps to check their credentials and experience:

  • Verify their state bar status: Check with your state’s bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed to practice and has no history of disciplinary action.
  • Look for probate experience: Review the lawyer’s website or professional profile to ensure they specialize in probate law and have experience handling estates of similar complexity.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Look for online reviews on platforms like Avvo or Martindale-Hubbell to see what past clients have said about the lawyer’s probate experience.
  • Ask for references: A credible lawyer should be able to provide references from past clients who can vouch for their professionalism and expertise in handling probate matters.
  • Look for membership in professional organizations: Membership in organizations like the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys (AAEPA) or the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) can indicate a lawyer's commitment to estate and probate law.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most out of your first consultation with a probate lawyer, it’s important to come prepared with relevant documents and information. Here’s what you should bring:

  • A copy of the will or trust (if applicable): Bring any estate planning documents left by the deceased, including wills, trusts, or powers of attorney.
  • List of assets and debts: Prepare a detailed list of the deceased’s assets (e.g., real estate, bank accounts, investments) and outstanding debts (e.g., loans, mortgages, credit cards).
  • Death certificate: Bring a certified copy of the deceased person’s death certificate.
  • Contact information for heirs and beneficiaries: Have a list of all individuals or entities named in the will or who are entitled to inherit under intestacy laws.
  • Questions about the probate process: Write down any questions you have about the process, costs, and potential issues you might face.
  • Relevant financial records: If available, bring any relevant financial documents, such as bank statements, property deeds, and tax returns.

By coming prepared, you can ensure a productive consultation and allow the lawyer to provide the best advice for your situation.
