John is one in a million. Very professional, knowledgeable and competent. He went above and beyond to assist with our legal needs relative to a QDRO. Mr. Meng provided the utmost professionalism in an extremely difficult estate case wherein three siblings were deadlocked and the estate was not moving forward at all in over a year. In an extremely complicated and emotional estate case involving both parents passing away within six months of each other, three siblings with three different attorneys and no agreement; Mr. Meng came in and was able to move the case forward and settled within a couple of months. Mr. Meng was a hands on attorney even to the point of spending a Saturday going through forty years of “stuff” to have the case move forward. Mr. Meng knows the law and was available for consultations at any time. Most importantly, the case was settled quickly and equitably.

Shannon Hammond did an excellent job for my parents. Her expertise was/is so impressive. Originally, we went to a lawyer in Rockville who didn't do anything and yet charged my parents $3,500. I witnessed the initial experience with both lawyers. On our first meeting Shannon Hammond spent over 2 hours asking questions and with the information created an excel spreadsheet - the information was unique to my parents' situation. One month prior to meeting Shannon Hammond we met with a Rockville lawyer who spent 1/2 hour with us; we knew nothing when we left her office. The Rockville lawyer directed me to provide all information to her; her paralegal filled in an already issued template from the information I provided which took me over a week to gather. The Rockville lawyer did not create anything original (it was a template) whereas Shannon Hammond created the unique excel spreadsheet that pertained directly to my parents' situation. The Rockville lawyer rushed through whatever information she was trying to provide us whereas Shannon Hammond took so much time that even my mother understood what she was presenting to us. My parents will continue to use Shannon Hammond as will the rest of my family. I have already recommended Shannon to friends who will be using her in the future. She's the best and I cannot say enough great things about her especially since I had experienced a horrible lawyer prior to meeting Shannon. Shannon Hammond respects all who speak to her unlike the Rockville lawyer who was always too busy to take calls, etc. I highly recommend using Shannon Hammond for any elder care services but especially if applying for Medicaid.

Rose did a fantastic job drawing up the wills, advanced directives, and durable powers of attorney for my wife, adult daughter, and myself, and additionally defined the trust for our son who is still a minor. Two things impressed us most: 1) she went through each of the many documents with us individually until she was sure we understood them all completely; and 2) she was very patient with us when we wanted to change some things after we had a better understanding of the documents. She didn't rush us, and that meant everything to us in making sure we got the documents right. Rose is fantastic.

It has been a few years but I first consulted Kaitlyn to help close out a deceased parent's estate. What was expected originally to be a simple process turned into a very lengthy ordeal filled with all types of unexpected legal challenges due to circumstances we didn't expect.
I was so glad I hired Kaitlyn for this. She fought for us every step of the way, helped us avoid expensive issues and liability, and overall gave me the confidence I could at least sleep at night during what was a stressful situation. When everything was finally closed out it was an incredible relief and the outcome she was able to achieve exceeded my expectations more than I could ever expect.

We retain Ms Cox and her law firm after a bad experience with a different firm. Ms Cox is very black and white ...meaning she says what needs to be said. We came into the case with Ms Cox in the last ending with very little light. Game should have been over but we are still swinging.

Jeff Kaplan is by far the best attorney!!! My husband has been in back forth custody disputes for almost 10years, and has had his fair share of different attorneys, but when Jeff became his attorney, it was a complete game changer. He worked with us even on weekends. Via texting, in person, and emailing if needed. Don’t assume that if you get an attorney through Legal Aide that you won’t get excellent results, because this clearly wasn’t the case. My husband gained full sole custody of my stepdaughter fighting a really ugly custody dispute. Jeff works a lot of different cases, but he made time to help us win our case. I would DEFINITELY recommend him to anyone looking to win!

I can’t say enough good about Brian. Brian helped us with a petition to sell in lieu of partition case. Usually trust and lawyer aren’t used in the same sentence but in this case it is. We trust this lawyer. He’s honest, reliable and on top of his game. He an expert in estate law, knows the players and his advice is sound. When in need, everyone should be so fortunate as to have an attorney like James McCollum.
Mr. McCollum helped me to pursue a work-related grievance. Right from the start it was clear that he was sharing a wealth of experience and knowledge. When I sent over my info, he and his team got right to work on checking the viability of my case. Over about a week or two, Mr. McCollum gave me regular updates on their research into relevant case law, statutes, limitations, and the challenges with each. They reviewed well-known and recent laws, as well as older and more obscure. He broke all of this down in terms I could understand, and explained how each option may or may not succeed.
Mr. McCollum was upfront about challenges, possible outcomes, and realistic goals. As such, not everything was what I hoped to learn about my case. But, he helped me to make better, more informed decisions. He looked out for my best interests (where some lawyers would probably prioritize their own) and gave his time generously for my small case. Our conversations always put me at greater ease, and I got a sense of him as an honest and good man.
In the end, Mr. McCollum guided me through a hard and drawn-out process. He walked me through possible motivators of the other side, costs and risks they might run into at different stages – things I think you can only learn from experience. His insight allowed me to hold ground with confidence. With his guidance, I was able to secure a workable end, and move on.

Mr. McCollum represented me in a personal injury matter. I found him to be extremely knowledgeable and confident. Dealing with the at-fault driver’s insurance company, was not easy. Maria is in a class by herself as far as we are concerned! We contacted close to twenty lawyers who were listed or recommended to us for help in an Education law issue for my child, and Maria by far was the best. She responded to our initial request for help on the same day I sent out requests, and was willing to speak on the phone first about our situation to tell us if we had a case. Our situation involved a homeschooling issue and the local Board of Education, and Maria was one of less than 5 attorneys who would even speak to us about our case.
She responded usually within hours, and always within a day, to any communication we sent to her, and was happy to accept the research we had already done into the case in order to lower our legal costs.
She worked on our time-sensitive case with as much speed as possible to reach a resolution, and was very kind and sensitive to my daughter as well. We are very pleased with the timeliness and outcome of our case, thanks to Maria.
I would recommend her to anyone with an Education law issue, and I am sure she is equally skilled in the other areas of law in which she practices.

We were in need of an attorney to prepare our wills, power of attorney (medical and financial) and health care advance directives. I expected it to be a difficult discussion as my spouse and I are not always on the same page on certain topics but Maria made it easy. There were some tears, some laughter, but she made it happen.
She explained things in layman's terms so that everything was understandable, instructed us in what would be subject to probate and how to do things properly in order to have the least amount subject to probate. She guided and counseled us in a gentle but professional way.
This experience ended up being pleasant, easy and much less expensive than i had anticipated. I would highly recommend Maria as an attorney - highly competent and very personable.
She gets an "A" from us!

I contacted Jeffrey Schultz about representing me for a small claims appeal case. From the moment I met with Mr. Schultz during the 30 minute free consultation, I could tell that he was listening carefully to the details of my case to fully understand the best approach for representing me. Several years ago, my mother hired Mr. Gatesman to do a Medicaid plan for my father who was entering a nursing home. When my father’s condition suddenly got worse, Mr. Gatesman quickly changed gears, and through his fast action, all of my parents’ assets ended up in a trust under my father’s will. When she needed to move into a retirement community, he came up with a way to secure a mortgage using trust assets to secure a loan on her residence, then converting it into a rental unit that provided my mother both income and secure support through trust assets. The trust allowed my mother to continue living as she always had been living, but when she too needed nursing home care, none of the assets in the trust had to be used to pay for her care. Mr. Gatesman then guided me through the baffling process of obtaining Medicaid benefits to pay my mother’s nursing home costs. This was a daunting journey, but his attention and direction to the actions that needed to be taken made the journey successful. With Mr. Gatesman’s guidance, my parents were able to preserve all of their assets, including their home.
