I searched around and spoke to a few lawyers that didn’t want to take my simple divorce case. I continued searching, and then found the Shannon Family Law Firm. The reviews are not perfect, but overall there seemed to be more pleased clients who used them. So I decided to call and I won’t go into a lot of detail, but I have spoken with the paralegal Jodie Ward-House and attorney Richard Shannon whom I have decided to hire for my case. Jodie and Richard have been very kind and thorough in explaining the details of how my particular case should work if all goes well. My case is new and just starting. I may post another review in the future about this firm after my case is finished. However, based on the previous phone conversation I had with Jodie and phone consultation I had with Richard Shannon was very pleasing. We’ll see how this goes. I would recommend them if need consultation about a divorce case. I have a better understanding about my particular case.

I called and they returned my call promptly, and they answered questions and spoke with me free of charge. Most attorneys will not speak to you with out charging a fee. They answered my question and educated me on the case. Even though they couldn’t take the case they helped me understand why and I appreciate them taking the time to educate me and speak with me. My first initial contact when calling this firm was ridiculous. They stated that, without a professional "second opinion" on my situation they could not further look into handling my case ... I had the pleasure of working with Shane Boasberg for 19 months on a Family Law case centered on my divorce agreement to sell my jointly-owned house. We won!! Shane's experience, professionalism, and work quality were 100% on display when we arrived at court against the opposing counsel. He had a huge Trial Binder for the Judge to use and follow along during the trial, and over (10) exhibits to log in - more than doubling the opposing counsel's exhibits, and providing the ONLY binder to the Judge! Shane and I worked together to get evidence collected and sorted. We conversed long-distance since I live outside of Austin, but the house is near Austin. Emails, phone calls, and text messages were more than enough! Shane comes prepared to win, and is armed with knowledge, wisdom, compassion, and a fire in his belly! His help is worth every penny, and his rate is extremely reasonable.

Shane came recommended by a friend, and was absolutely amazing to work with. I needed legal help with an eviction for a nightmare tenant, and Shane went above and beyond preparing an air-tight case. Although evictions are not the type of law he normally deals with, he learned everything about it quickly and got my tenant out in a timely fashion. He was in constant communication with me throughout the entire process, making sure we were overly prepared so everything would go in our favor. The judge also loved his wit and personal ability. After the eviction was ruled, Shane continued his involvement by following up with the tenant with a very stern, but professional email advising him of the ramifications if he didn’t comply with the judgement and move out. Done. Tenant gone. I was extremely happy with Shane – he was thorough, competent, and a pleasure to work with. I’d definitely hire him again and would recommend him to anyone needing legal help.

Divorce was one of the most daunting events of my life. I was fortunate to have a long-time attorney in Houston recommend Charlie Bowes as a top divorce attorney in Austin. There were numerous challenges during the divorce case, including the ex-wife switching to three different attorneys. The process was during the COVID pandemic, which represented further challenges. For me, communication was key so that I could understand the potential ramifications of each element of the process. Charlie is not the type of attorney who only tells you what you want to hear, but he will tell you what is actually in your best interest. He always presented alternatives based on his vast experience on every issue. There were times when Charlie would have to “talk me off the ledge” during which I was taking a stubborn approach that could have had negative consequences on my case. In the end, I could not have found a better attorney than Charlie and his paralegal Charlyne.
