As an Alamance county resident, I had a hard time finding a family attorney in the Wake area that I was comfortable with. After doing some thorough research I came across Jake Terrell, and pick him because of his great reviews, dedication and knowledgeable background. Jake has represented me in 2 cases within the year and has been able to get me the results I wanted BOTH times. The second case was extremely rare and when I spoke to Jake about it he was super eager to handle it. I could tell he put in the work the day of court because he handle it with flying colors! TL; DR: Sierra La Gala and the Triangle Law Group did good by me. In fact, they surpassed my expectations and I cannot recommend them more highly.
The longer story:
A few months ago when dealing with an unethical local business (that shall remain unnamed for now), I contacted a lawyer I had hired years ago to see if he could help me now. He was no longer practicing that type of law, but he did refer me to the Triangle Law Group. About a month ago, it became obvious that I really did need some good legal advice to help me make the right decisions with my quandary, and so I filled out the form on the Triangle Law Group website.
I also filled out an online form for a lawyer referral from the NC Bar. I hoped that with the endorsement of Triangle by the lawyer from years ago and the bar association referral, I'd get my best chance at finding someone who could give me good, solid advice.
Triangle Law got back to me within a day and asked if I'd like to schedule a consultation, and I scheduled shortly thereafter--the fee for a 30-minute consult was very reasonable. The intake form was very detailed, which made a good impression on me. It all seemed like a well run organization. Turns out Triangle Law Group is indeed a very well run organization--and more.
Today, I spoke with Sierra La Gala from Triangle, and I can sincerely share that I think this might have been the best value I have ever had with a lawyer for their time.I wound up paying for a full hour of her time, because my case is absurdly (and maddeningly) complicated. Sierra's fee was reasonable, but get this: the bill was less than what I thought it should have been, for starters. I thought I owed more, and I'd have gladly paid more. When does that ever happen with a lawyer? It's rare.
Emily was the epitome of grace and patience with me while I was uploading documents and photos. Meoshia got right back to me this afternoon with a detailed breakdown of my bill, which as I mentioned, was actually less than I thought it was.
So what about the legal advice ?
Sierra had obviously gone over all the documentation I sent in before my consolation, which means she actually spent time on my case that I was not even billed for. And trust me, it was a lot.
Sierra addressed each question I had in plain terms that I easily understood. She is a very skilled communicator--and law can be mind numbingly hard to comprehend. Not even once did I get the impression that she was annoyed at having to explain complicated concepts for me. She is whip smart and genuine.
The lawyer I was referred to by the bar association seemed glib uninterested and maybe even a bit flippant. I never once had the impression he cared at all about what I have been through. My experience with Sierra was the polar opposite: I felt like she genuinely cared. I felt heard, and that is so important when you're facing injustice when it has to do with something as personal as your home, where you live, where you lay your head down.
I cannot adequately express just how much all of that means to me.
Of course, I may not get what I want or should with my particular case, but I feel very confident that Sierra will do her best on my behalf. I've had a decent amount of experience with lawyers, and I can wholeheartedly recommend Triangle Law from my experience thus far. There is something very right going on with this firm. You can trust them.

My wife and I were unfortunately exposed to a very unethical contractor that remodeled our master bath. Neither of us had a good foundation on how to proceed with this bad actor that made a mess of our home and now owes us money. We were referred to Triangle Law Group and we are so grateful that were were. Everyone that we've worked with has been wonderful, especially Sierra La Gala, one of the group's attorneys. We're still weighing our options, but we felt heard and felt we were receiving unbiased and educated answers that has provided us with options that we would have never known of otherwise.

Attorney Jones did the best she could when she was allowed to do her job. The firm itself was unorganized and money hungry. I’ve never felt more abandoned and disappointed in my life. They took $15000 and couldn’t even remember what I hired them for in the first place. The judge called the number that was registered with the state bar during a hearing where they were supposed to represent me in and their number was disconnected. This was a truly horrible experience and even worse I got the matter resolved myself after they left me hanging. My public defender did majority of the work. Don’t waste your time or money.

Attorney Dobson was hired back in August of 2023 and has collected payments monthly from us and has done NOTHING for sons case. We have not spoke to him not one time or even met him, does not return calls and there is always an excuse for his secretary. Today we recieved a letter that his firm is closing and yet he took our money which will be dealt with in the nc state bar. Please do not hire this guy he doesn't come through with his word.

This is the most unprofessional Law firm I’ve ever seen in my life. This lawyer Mr. Dobson has my brother as one of his clients. My brother honestly went to jail for a fight with his girlfriend (no one was hurt). With most domestic cases, you will be free within 48hrs (depending on how bad it is). My brother has been in jail since August, it is now December. This Lawyer has not kept us updated at all. My brother father had just passed last week and he missed his funeral due to no communication from the lawyer. That was the last and probably only time we had spoken with the lawyer. He pretty much lied and said that he would have my brother out within two days because he felt like he has served enough time, and also didn’t want him to miss his father funeral. We have not heard anything ever since and my brother also went to court yesterday and we have no update. It’s pretty ridiculous. When we call up there, his very rude receptionist Marissa is also lost and doesn’t have any information to give us at all about my brothers case, she only gives us his next court date. She was very rude while our family was trying to figure out what exactly is going on and why aren’t we being updated or have spoken with the lawyer. She rudely cuts us off mid conversation and tries to rush us off the phone. Also, she acts very dumb founded as if she’s lost and doesn’t know what is going on. We are very patient and understanding people, but I think we have been patient enough and honestly would be much happier if we could talk to the lawyer and get an update. We also know being a lawyer can means you’re very busy. But this is what comes with the job and we are simply just asking for an UPDATE at least. This firm is very unprofessional, put lots of cases on hold for months while taking care of other cases, receptionist SUCKS and very rude to the point you would want to curse her out! I would not recommend! I will guarantee you, you would get more help with other lawyers before this one. Please don’t make the same mistakes we did with this firm. It’s almost unbelievable how these people choose to deal with cases and worried families. We are extremely worried and wouldn’t have an update on my brother at all because of the firm. We do not recommend!

I told her how can she be employed in an office and speak to customers in such a tone yet not want to state her name? When I asked to speak to her supervisor she said it was Allen Dubois but he was not there. I told her I will be making a complaint on her attitude and she hung up on me. Someone needs to fire this lady because why are you even employed if you don’t want to give your name or any information to the community seeking assistance from your office?

I was required to use this law office through a relocation agreement. I would not recommend this office, if you have the choice. There were multiple instances where information provided was incomplete and required quite a bit of back and forth. With a tight timeline for purchase as an out of state buyer, this back and forth resulted in wasted time and additional stressors.

I was made the of trustee for a family member almost five years ago. I was fortunate to be referred to Scott as I had no experience in this area. Scott has been there for us from the beginning to the end as we now finalize the estate. Unfortunately we have also faced family squabbling and other legal challenges as large trusts often attract predators. Mr. Meynardie gave up too easily on my case and was not clear regarding fees to be incurred. He was responsive in the beginning, but not so later. I read that he was on another case during that time and then it became clear why his attention had been diverted from my case. I was left very disappointed.

Bob does an excellent job of providing representation comparable to that from large law firms, but at a more cost effective rate. In addition, through his use of technology, he is able to give a more personal representation that often found from large firms. I retained Rita for a pretty cut and dry case. She refused to answer my calls or follow up and failed to submit documentation and evidence. I ended up losing the case and had to secure another lawyer for an appeal. I selected her because of my wife's recommendation - they have a mutual close friend - and she feels terrible because she basically took our money and ran.

Mr. Khot represented my family in a dispute with our HOA. Mr. Khot's representation only seemed to create more problems which cost us thousands of extra dollars and solved nothing. Before our case made it to the courtroom one of Mr. Khot's colleagues dissected and removed most of the motions Mr. Khot had filed, suggesting to me that Mr. Khot did not know what he was doing. Mr. Khot failed to notify my family of a court date in a timely manner and requested the judge remove him from the case without speaking to us about the issue first. I would never hire nor recommend Mr. Khot for legal advice or representation.

It was a really disappointing experience! Always late for scheduled phone calls - late for over 30 minutes for two consecutive times. And always procrastinating - would not start doing stuff until I asked REPEATEDLY! Also, the common scenario is that I would write on Monday asking her progress/questions, she would respond to schedule a phone call on Tuesday, and from Wednesday on until the following week I couldn't reach her anymore - no heads up about traveling/conferencing and the only way of finding out is the automatic email response that "I am out of town till next week". Had little attention to detail - had my name spelled wrong in the contract. Just switched to a different law firm - rather pay a higher price for a more professional and capable lawyer! The new lawyer responds to questions so fast and always give me heads up if he will be delayed by some other cases. Comparisons really makes me see the differences.
