Joseph is the best. Joseph has a vast working knowledge of the Law, more specifically in Real Estate and Business Law. For someone who is as unfamiliar with the law as I, Joseph is a blessing, because he is able to walk you through the entire process and to explain it in a way to make it understandable to the average person. Joseph clearly explains your options and is able to provide a road map of how he believes a case will go, from there you can intelligently make your decision. Hoffman is the most experienced, knowledgeable and aggressive eviction attorney in my area. I worked with other eviction attorneys before but now I only work with Hoffman. Since I have been his client for many years, I normally just send one email telling him the case, and he starts to take care the rest, and he always does a great job. Our real estate broker recommended Dave Hamerslough when the buyers of our house charged us with failing to disclose certain defects. The charge was baseless, but facing a lawsuit demanding an outrageous sum of money is unnerving nevertheless. We quickly learned Dave would give us the best possible defense. He was on top of the case - he had signed up the best expert witness before opposing counsel could pick up the phone. He was fast - he reads through a stack of documents in a flash. He was thorough - nothing escapes his attention, and it's the details buried in the evidence that can determine the outcome. He knows the law cold. He is sensitive to the cost and delegates tasks like typing emails to his very capable assistant . He carefully explained the issues and answers questions fully.

I recently moved out of my home after renting for 7 years after receiving a 60 day notice to terminate residency from the new property manager who never answered emergency calls, didn't show up for meetings, etc.. I called Mr. Hanley to see what exactly my rights were as a tenant and what to expect if i did not comply with 60 day notice. He explained to me very simply the laws and rules of tenancy and was brutally honest about what the consequences would be if an unlawful detainer was brought against me. He did this at no charge to me over the phone, wished me luck and offerred his services if I needed it.

Summer was instrumental in the purchase of a small CA Card Room in 2010. There were both local and government agencies (CA DOJ, CA Gaming Commission, City Counsel, ABC, Local Police Department, City Planning, etc) to work with to ensure a smooth transition for the purchase of the highly governed industry. The Purchase Contracts Summer put in place added extra protection from a seller that was not 100% forthcoming in financial obligations associated with the business. Although Summer was not initially up to speed on all the rules and regulations associated with CA Gaming Laws and purchasing and existing license, she was an expert in no time. With the help of Summer, we were approved in record time and our new business was up and running within 10 months (in a standard 18 month approval process).

We feel so grateful and lucky to find Justine Lescoart to help us on a dispute, which eventually developed into a legal suit against us with a contractor, who's very difficult and unreasonable to deal with. There are a lot of interactions between us and the contractor before we brought Justine on board and the issue was tricky. Justine is very sharp and smart, and works with us with great patience and efficiency. At the later stage of the dispute, the contractor even suited us and trying to cost us a fortune. Justine treats our case as if she's fighting for her own and always puts our best interest into the first priority throughout the case, and always be thoughtful and persistent to find the most cost-efficient way to get us out of the case at each step of the stage, with this super non-cooperative counterparty. Mr. Ashley, unlike any other attorney with whom I have worked, makes himself available day or night any day of the week. Do not let his calm, good natured demeanor mislead you. He is a tough, tough, no nonsense fighter in the court room. He knows "the game" and plays his hand well. He is the eye of the storm. He has a great personality, is well liked and that plays a very big part in a case. His credentials do not show it but he has fought against very highly respected and well known attorneys in multi-million dollar court cases. In my case specifically, I would have been happy with a $1.5M settlement. I am cashing in my settlement check for $17.5M today. One of the defendants is now out of business. He actually recruited one of the attorneys on the other side to work for him! He manages people tremendously well. he sees the big picture and can calm a very explosive situation with just a couple of phone calls. Mr. Ashley is extremely under rated. Extremely.

Damian has represented me on 2 very different cases. I find his writing to be superb, and since he used to have a law appearance business, he knows everyone down at the courthouse. Consequently, he often has a good feel for how a judge is going to decide on a particular motion.
One of my cases was a fairly routine car accident case (this was before he streamlined his practice to primarily civil litigation). He brought the matter to a swift conclusion, and I got a settlement check for my troubles.
The other case was a HUGE employment case with a Fortune 500 Company in Silicon Valley. While I cannot discuss the case details, I was very pleased with the outcome.
Damian is a master at finding obscure bits of law that other lawyers overlook. This, along with his brilliant writing, gives him an edge.
I highly recommend him for all your civil litigation matters.
