I was arrested for manufacturing a dangerous drug MDMA greater than 400 grams. It was 4 probes one for the MDMA and one for the money laundering all over the world 130 people were arrested in 16 us cities and Canada , and charged with the RICO Act. They gave me 490 months. I paid Chuck for my appeal. The only thing holding my part of the RICO was the manufacturing of the ecstasy as I was the only Chemist producing (allegedly) one million five hundred thousand pills daily. Mr. Johnson did a investigation from all angles and found the search warrant they used to find the only piece of evidence was a plain sight warrant and on video you could clearly see them remove part of a wall to get to the 5 Rubbermaid storage containers that were all full of MDMA powder unpressed. This proved Illegal search and siezure and I walked away a free man.

Charles Johnson was referred buy an extremely good mutual friend and lawyer. I was in a dire situation. In which I got myself involved in and because of being a naïve person that I am wants to help everybody. I fell into a very very detrimental situation that seemed impossible to get out of. With that being said, and a short version of a long story. I was doing a favor to help two people out not getting any compensation in return. I had gotten myself in the most detrimental situation I could have ever imagined I would’ve ever faced in my lifetime. I did not realize at the time the crime that I had committed was a serious felony and I was facing 10 to life. My Father Came into town to post my bond and did his research in finding me the best criminal attorney that could represent my case and that was, Mr. Charles Johnson. I cannot thank him enough for all of the hard work he did regarding my case. Mr. Johnson went above and beyond to work on my case and got me eight years deferred adjudication, 40 hours of Community service. With only a $2000 fine for this felony crime that seemed impossible to conquer. Mr. Johnson handled the court room like he owned it. He put up a fight from hell and he was determined to win and so he did. I could never thank him enough for taking my case and fighting for me till the very end. It was a huge triumph. I highly recommend Mr. Charles Johnson if you are in a dire situation and in need of a criminal lawyer to represent you. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MR. CHARLES JOHNSON. Mr. Johnson will not lose a fight he will go above and beyond for you. Thank you..........

From our very first initial meeting ( which was also during the COVID pandemic) I explained to him details of what happened when I was wrongly accused for something and charged for injury to an elderly. I told him I had all my documentation and sent it straight over to his office from that he told me exactly what he was going to do without having to go any further into prolonging the case. He got my case dismissed and I never had to go to court expect for the very first time and that was to sign for a court appointed attorney and I was blessed with him. I never got to thank him for what he did for me so I am writing this review because he is an amazing lawyer and he listens and he will fight and do all he can for you.

I hired Nathan to handle my case when I was wrongly accused of a first degree felony. This was the best decision I ever made. I was terrified because I had not even had a speeding ticket in years, had never been charged with a crime, and was facing 99 years in prison for a crime I did not commit, but Nathan was very reassuring. When I went for the first court hearing and checked in with the court clerk, I said that Nathan was representing me. All of a sudden everyone - the clerk, the DA, and the judge - perked up a little and seemed noticeably nicer to me. To me, it looked like they all knew and respected him. When the clerk called my case, the judge told me to just stay in my seat while he, Nathan, and the DA talked privately. The next thing I know, the judge called me up to the bench and told me he did not find probable cause for my arrest, my bond was terminated, and I was free to go! The DA dismissed the charge the same day. It was the weirdest experience, but am I glad I trusted Nathan! Nathan definitely knows the law backwards and forwards and works really hard for his clients. I am really grateful that I found him because he believed me and diligently defended me. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs a criminal defense lawyer - you need an attorney like Nathan in your corner.

Attorney Nathan Hennigan came highly recommended to my family, and we are so glad we contacted him. We did a phone consultation & face to face with Attorney Nathan, and we felt very comfortable talking to him, he has excellent communication skills, and we worked out a payment schedule and we hired him. We discussed our case with Attorney Nathan, and he discussed what he thought best/worst scenario could happen in court. Attorney Hennigan helped us get bail when we thought none would be offered to us, and then in court we were offered a Motion to dismiss all charges (which is nowhere close to what we thought would/could happen). We thank God for working thru Attorney Hennigan to get us this great results. We are very pleased with Nathan, as our Attorney, his knowledge, professionalism, promptness, communication, and people skills can't be beat. We do not live in Houston, TX, but Attorney Nathan kept in touch with us as needed even on a weekend. We will forever be grateful for his services. No one wants to go to court, but we highly recommend you give him a call, if you ever need a lawyer.

Rusty Hardin was exceptional and generous with his staff and resources during the time he spent on my deceased husband's estate. It was an extremely complicated matter with alot of grief and emotional distress for me and my daughter. Rusty and his associates faced it all head on with legal patience and expertise. Unfortunately the "Enron" case occurred during the probate which took all his attention and the case was transferred. He and his staff handled the initiation of suits with phenominal patience both with me and transfering of the matter.

I had a criminal and civil cases for a car accident because I was charged with driving with a suspended license and I rear-ended the other car. I wanted to avoid jail time, and Attorney In-Chul Sohn negotiated a deal on the first court date (Class B) for just a small fine. I was very happy. He also took care of the threat of a lawsuit from the other driver. Actually, I received a traffic ticket, too, for that accident, and Attorney Sohn arranged for a small fine. So, he took care of 2 criminal charges and 1 civil case with very little I paid in fine. I was extremely happy with the way Attorney Sohn took care of all the problems.

Mekisha is truly an outstanding attorney. From the moment I met her, she was transparent and professional, giving me confidence during what could have been a very difficult process. She demonstrated incredible dedication and stayed present every step of the way, guiding me with care and expertise until my case was ultimately dismissed. Her ability to combine intelligence, unwavering dedication, and a results-driven approach with genuine compassion and a strong human connection is unmatched. Mekisha made a challenging situation manageable and gave me peace of mind throughout. If you’re looking for the best attorney, look no further—she’s it! I was also deeply impressed by her presence in the community. It’s clear that everyone around her respects and believes in her. Her presence is truly felt in any room, and it’s evident that people look up to her as a leader. Mekisha is not only an exceptional attorney but also an inspiring individual.

Very unprofessional. Paid to go to trail. Never heard from her up until the trial date where I asked if she would like to get with my witnesses and come up with a game plan for trial. She told me she was sick with pneumonia and influenza A and that it would get reset. Had scheduled work off but decided to go in because it was going to be “reset”. After texting multiple days and no response I had to call up court and they informed me that I did have court (the next day). We went to court unprepared and she showed up late (every other time she did also) and screamed at the judge that she had pneumonia and couldn’t talk. Mind you she is screaming. The judge told her it wouldn’t get reset without a Dr. note. Unbelievably, somehow she couldn’t come up with one, so they proceeded with trail. I ended up taking plea deal because I didn’t feel confident, having never had a meeting about trail. She told me she was ready to go, which completely contradicted what she had told the judge “I can’t do a trail today”. After this I decided I couldn’t trust her with my freedom and settled. Please don’t make the same mistake I did and further research an attorney who will fight for their clients and also communicate with them. WASTE OF MONEY. Find someone reputable.

I was referred to a friend who happened to be in the same cell block as me. I called him from jail collect on Xmas night around dinner time and HE ACTUALLY ACCEPTED. I hired him although my court date wasn't until the 1st week in Feb. He went to my court room and talked to the district attorney of my court and secured a deal. And this was the first week of Jan.. He came to see me and asked if I'd accept the deal. I was looking at 5yrs TDC. Now the deal he got was for time served if I signed on my court date in Feb. I SAID HELL YEAH. Now when my court date arrived my cell block was on quarantine for covid and I wasn't allowed to attend. But that didn't stop Paul. I called him and told him and he said don't worry. He got me a PR Bo d so that I was released the day I should have been with a court date to o my come and sign my papers But bad luck still tried to beat us, pretrial never came that night to release me. That still didn't stop Paul even though he was in Brazoria County and I was in Harris. All of a sudden I was called out for court. When I got to court pretrial was there with my bond papers to sign. But when I signed them the bailiff said I was getting a dbl. Whammy today. There was a phone and a stack of papers on a desk. I picked up the phone and Paul who was at the Brazoria courthouse walked me through each one as I signed them. Then I was escorted into the courtroom and it was only me, the bailiff, and the court coordinator. All of a sudden Paul (in brazoria) appeared on a screen via Zoom as did the Judge (from home). And there I accepted my plea agreement. Now I was wondering why I still signed my pr bond papers if I signed for my plea. Well it normally takes them until the middle of the night to release you after court but by the time I got back to housing , releasing had already been calling for me. Needless to say I was released within 2 hours of returning from court. Paul gets things done. And he keeps his promises. IF YOURE EVER IN A BIND CALL PAUL MORGAN. HE WONT LET YOU DOWN.

What a Sex Crime Lawyer Can Do for You

A sex crime lawyer specializes in defending individuals accused of sexual offenses, which can include charges such as sexual assault, rape, indecent exposure, child pornography, solicitation, and other related crimes. Being charged with a sex crime carries severe legal and social consequences, including potential imprisonment, mandatory registration as a sex offender, fines, and long-term stigma. A sex crime lawyer has the expertise to navigate the complex legal system, protect your rights, and develop a strategic defense to achieve the best possible outcome for your case.

When Should I Hire a Sex Crime Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a sex crime lawyer immediately if:

  • You are under investigation: If law enforcement contacts you for questioning or you become aware that you are a suspect in a sex crime investigation, it's crucial to seek legal representation before speaking with authorities.
  • You have been arrested or charged: Promptly hiring a lawyer upon arrest or formal charges allows for early intervention in your case, which can be critical for your defense.
  • Searches and seizures have occurred: If your property, such as your home or electronic devices, has been searched or seized in connection with a sex crime investigation, a lawyer can help protect your rights.
  • You are facing related legal issues: If you're dealing with restraining orders, custody disputes, or other legal matters stemming from the allegations, a lawyer can provide comprehensive legal support.

What Does a Sex Crime Lawyer Do?

A sex crime lawyer provides a range of legal services to defend and support you throughout the legal process:

  • Legal consultation and advice: They will explain the charges against you, outline your rights, and advise you on the best course of action.
  • Case investigation: The lawyer will conduct a thorough investigation, gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and identifying inconsistencies or weaknesses in the prosecution's case.
  • Defense strategy development: They will develop a tailored defense strategy, which may include challenging the credibility of evidence, disputing the legality of how evidence was obtained, or presenting alternative explanations.
  • Negotiating with prosecutors: Your lawyer can negotiate plea bargains or reduced charges when appropriate, aiming to minimize potential penalties.
  • Court representation: They will represent you in all court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and sentencing, advocating on your behalf.
  • Protecting your rights: The lawyer ensures that your constitutional rights are upheld throughout the legal process, including protection against unlawful searches, coerced confessions, or violations of due process.
  • Post-trial assistance: If necessary, they can assist with appeals, sentence modifications, or matters related to sex offender registration.

How Are Sex Crime Lawyers Paid?

Sex crime lawyers typically charge for their services in one of the following ways:

  • Hourly rate: Charging an hourly fee for the time spent working on your case. Rates can vary widely based on the lawyer's experience and location.
  • Flat fee: A set amount that covers specific services or the entirety of your case, which can provide cost predictability.
  • Retainer fee: An upfront payment from which the lawyer deducts hourly fees and expenses as they work on your case. You may need to replenish the retainer if it is exhausted.
  • Payment plans: Some lawyers offer payment arrangements to make their services more affordable over time.

It's important to discuss payment structures and fees during your initial consultation to understand the financial commitment involved.

How Much Does a Sex Crime Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a sex crime lawyer depends on various factors, including the complexity of the case, the severity of the charges, and the lawyer's experience. General cost estimates are:

  • Hourly rates: Typically range from $200 to $500 or more per hour.
  • Flat fees: For less complex cases, flat fees might range from $5,000 to $25,000.
  • Total costs: Complex cases involving extensive investigation or a trial can cost $25,000 to $100,000 or more.
  • Additional costs: May include expert witness fees, investigative expenses, and court fees.

Always request a detailed fee agreement and discuss potential additional costs to avoid unexpected expenses.

Top Questions to Ask a Sex Crime Lawyer

  1. What experience do you have handling sex crime cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has a strong background in defending against the specific charges you are facing.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure and get an estimate of the total cost involved.
  3. What potential outcomes can I expect for my case?
Ask for an honest assessment, including best-case and worst-case scenarios.
  4. What is your approach to defending sex crime charges?
Learn about the strategies they might employ and how they plan to handle your defense.
  5. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates and availability.
  6. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Understand the challenges you may face and how the lawyer plans to address them.
  7. How long do you expect the legal process to take?
Get an estimated timeline based on the specifics of your case.

How to Check the Credibility of a Sex Crime Lawyer

  • Verify their license: Ensure the lawyer is licensed and in good standing with your state's bar association.
  • Experience and specialization: Look for a lawyer who specializes in criminal defense with a focus on sex crime cases.
  • Client reviews and testimonials: Research online reviews or ask for references to learn about other clients' experiences.
  • Professional memberships: Membership in organizations like the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) can indicate a commitment to the field.
  • Disciplinary record: Check for any past disciplinary actions or complaints filed against the lawyer.
  • Consultation feedback: Use the initial consultation to assess their communication style, professionalism, and confidence in handling your case.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a sex crime lawyer, bring the following:

  • Detailed account of events: Write down everything you remember about the incident, including dates, times, locations, and any conversations.
  • Legal documents: Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Arrest records
    • Charging documents
    • Bail paperwork
    • Search warrants
    • Any correspondence from law enforcement or the court
  • Witness information: Provide names and contact information of any potential witnesses who can support your defense.
  • Evidence: Bring any physical evidence or records that may be relevant, such as emails, text messages, or social media interactions.
  • List of questions: Prepare questions about your case, the legal process, and the lawyer's experience.
  • Honesty: Be prepared to discuss all details openly and honestly; attorney-client privilege ensures confidentiality.
  • Goals and objectives: Be clear about what you hope to achieve, whether it's dismissing charges, reducing penalties, or addressing registration as a sex offender.

By being thoroughly prepared, you enable the lawyer to assess your situation effectively and provide the best possible legal advice tailored to your case.
