Mr.Tanner was my attorney at a very scary time. I was facing up to 10 years in prison for being
involved with wrong people. I was very lucky that he took my case. Howard Tanner is very well respected in his sphere, he knows ins and outs of the system with over 35 years of experience not just as an attorney, but as a prosecutor as well. He treated me with consideration and courtesy. He made me feel mattered! I am very grateful that he was on my side during this horrendous experience giving me his guidance. I feel it’s also important to have someone who has patience to return your calls and emails, explain the process, timeline and manage expectations.
My case ended up being dismissed. I am thankful for every minute I have now as a free person.

I was arrested for DWI and Assault in Fairport, NY. I was a passenger in a car driven by my girlfriend. We had stopped in the road to make a turn and a car rear ended us.
The impact was so great that the car was totaled. I had to climb out of the driver side window and that is when the driver who hit us told the Police that I was the driver.
The driver of the other car came over to me and started a fight and I had to defend myself and my girlfriend.
I immediately contacted Mr. Morabito to represent me for the criminal charges of DWI, assault and traffic tickets. If I was convicted of DWI, I would have lost my job.
If I was convicted of assault, I could have been looking at jail time. Mr. Morabito did such an amazing job that all my charges were dismissed at trial.

Helene is the best lawyer on Staten Island to help you out with traffic tickets! I was fighting a ticket for a 1yr+ that was given to me unfairly and she helped me go to court and get my ticket dismissed. I would not recommend Pamela Branch as an attorney. I sought her help with a discrimination case over a year ago, and the experience has been extremely frustrating. Over the past two years, her communication has been nearly non-existent. I had to continuously follow up just to get basic updates. We filed a case with the Office of Civil Rights almost two years ago, and every time I asked for an update, she claimed she hadn’t heard anything back from them.
Today, I decided to call the Office of Civil Rights myself, only to find out that they had already investigated my case. Yet, I never received any notification or email from them, nor did I hear anything from Pamela. To make matters worse, I tried emailing her and received no response, and her phone number is either blocked or disconnected. This lack of professionalism and communication is unacceptable, and I regret trusting her with such an important matter.

My kid's father hired and paid the retainer fee of this firm. Unfortunately, before his first court appearance, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer and passed away. The kids requested a refund of the retainer to help cover the cost of his burial, as he had no savings. Despite numerous calls and visits, we were only refunded $1,000 out of the $3,500 paid. This experience reinforced the belief that some attorneys can be seen as scams, as demonstrated by the actions of this particular lawyer. Good job for stealing $ for a service you never did as these young kids are still paying for the costs a year later.

For some reason I couldn’t reply on the review I wrote but I only asked for a price estimated range because I wanted to be prepared which is a common question anywhere you go not everyone is going to know how things like this work or if it’s worth something so you ask questions to make sure to be prepared. The lady continuously kept cutting me off as I spoke that’s rude no need to leave your number because I’m not calling back to this place another firm actually reached out and I was treated with respect and they answered my question with no problems about the price estimate and was very respectful and herd me out on my concerns. Take notes mabey you’ll learn how to be respectful to ones that come for help to your firm.

All I have to say is he let the statue of limitations get passed due on my accident. Since he never sued that means I cant get money on my case. I have a good case that wasnt my fault. The other car was responsable. I had to have surgery. Mister Thomas didnt want to go to court because he kept saying it costs money and he was talking to the insurance company and the other guy only had a little bit of insurance so it wasnt worth it. But he owes me to fight for me because he is my lawyer. Thats why I hired him. If it was easy I would of taken care of the case myself. But I dont know the law. But I know It wasnt my fault and I should of gotten paid. I am trying to figure out what to do about this. If anybody has advise please help me or if you have another lawyer who knows what to do please let me know.

I'm so glad I went with this firm! I've been in several car accidents—thankfully only two of them resulted in serious injuries. The first happened many years ago, and I called a high power law firm (who shall remain nameless) to pursue my case. They were great at first but then rarely got back to me or let me know what was going on, and when I finally met with the lawyers they told me that because they didn't have enough evidence my case had very limited potential and encouraged me to settle for a small amount. I thought that's just the way the law works, but through working with Mr. Lavin the second time around I've discovered there's more to it than that. First of all, the old firm told me that nothing happens right away and that I need to wait. This is true BUT there are certain things that need to be done right away, like PRESERVING EVIDENCE. I learned this during my first meeting with Mr. Lavin, when he called in his employee to send him to the intersection where the accident happened. They managed to get surveillance video from the Duane Reade on the corner which recorded the entire accident! When the insurance company refused to settle my case for a fair amount Mr. Lavin brought my case to trial, and that surveillance video ended up making a I ended up getting WAY more money than I ever hoped for. My advice to anyone injured in a car accident is to make sure to hire a firm that specializes in accident cases! Ask them what they are going to do to progress your case TODAY. And if you're in the NY area, you can't do better than the Law Office of Thomas J. Lavin!

If you have any kind of trial you'd be better off throwing your money away. Very little prep work, very meek in litigation, and puts up little to no fight. According to multiple other attorneys he failed to inform me of a very common law practice and actually suggested the bribe the other attorneys offered for me to drop the case.... this man took money and refused to even return a phone call after he lost the most important moment of my life!

Chris is the man! I got pulled over for doing 15 over the speed limit just entering Chemung County on my way to Horseheads while passing another driver on I86 and the officer cited me for 10. It was Good Friday that day and this wasn’t the best Friday for me to get pulled over lol. I am a PA (out of state) driver so even though the points wouldn’t affect my PA driving record, my auto insurance would have spike if I would have plead guilty to the ticket. Plus I will be moving to New York State shortly so I had to take care of this somehow. I talked with Chris Tunney who assured me that he would able to talk the ADA into reducing the points. And he did just that. In New York state, 10 over the speed limit is 3 points. Chris got my speeding ticket reduced from 3 points to 0 points and a non moving violation. He came through for me like he said he would. If you ever get pulled over, Chris is the man to talk to.

Cappy has now TWICE not shown up to court after being paid. In addition, he has cancelled meeting abruptly and has shown a general disregard for all professionalism and care for the case. I am truly shocked that there can be someone out there who is this bad at simply showing up for court as a lawyer. I would rather have a court appointed attorney than pay for this man’s representation. It is truly one of the worst experiences imaginable.

While many people can simply make a bad claim about a lawyer without backing that claim up with facts, I can back my claims up with facts. Walk in and sit down in Cappy's office and you will immediately witness that he is an extremely unorganized man. Where being unorganized is not a necessarily a bad quality in itself, when it hinders a person in the function and effectiveness of their duty, THEN it becomes a bad quality.
While representing me (or should I say misrepresenting me) Cappy once allowed the opposing party to write up the compromise that was agreed upon in court between my ex husband and I concerning the details of the custody of our daughter. The agreement was completely bastardized by the opposing attorney and sat on Cappy's desk for weeks; because it was neither read nor challenged, the time limit for the challenge ran out and the bastardization thus became a court order. This one catastrophic stroke of incompetency on Cappy's part devastated our case and my child's future and rendered the $14,000 dollars that I had paid up until that point WASTED!
When confronted with this complete failure on his part, not only was he not sorry but he responded with an almost frightening look of outrage! We were forced to release him as as our lawyer and not pay him the measly $1,000 that he insisted we owed him, Cappy even had the audacity to threaten us with action if we did not pay him. The losses that our family suffered because of the incompetency of Cappy Weiner never were recovered, and I don't just mean the financial losses, I mean the loss of a healthy childhood for my daughter. If i could rate this disrespectful incompetent 'attorney' a zero star rating, I would. I retained him for family court and he SO incredibly unprofessional, disrespectful & useless. His communication skills are absolutely awful, between replying in a timely manner & being overall VERY disrespectful. If you want nothing achieved on your end, hire him. He will be able to do what he does best, absolutely nothing.

They are CROOKS and had the nerve to respond like my fiancé didn’t pay him when he paid them all year long and only did not pay when he went to prison. Almost 20 grand and they did nothing for him ….
