Without going much into detail of what had occurred with my employer, I was let go for the day I returned from short-term disability. Panic attacks occurring from an ever-present toxic culture had me suffering daily panic attacks. Just a few days after being "released", I went online and found Stephen Voudris. I was looking for a lawyer who would be able to provide the counsel I needed as I had never been through a termination. Over the course of counsel, Stephen provided expert advice based in many years of practice, and he was also empathetic and understood the mental anguish I was going through. He was there with me every step of the way right up through the completion of a successful mediation that not only provided me with much-needed funds ... but also didn't diminish my faith and self respect. Stephen kept me centered on the facts through the process and was also kind-hearted and human. This is the first time I had ever hired the services of an attorney to fight for me ... and I'm extremely fortunate to have had Stephen Voudris in my corner.

When establishing an estate trust for my children, Mary Lewis was very professional, personable, explained everything in detail and answered all my questions. She was also accessible to answer questions I had after our meeting. She made a very important life event for me much easier than I anticipated. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for legal assistance.

Doesn't respond. what is the point in being on here if you're just going to ignore potential clients? Or is most likely just a lawyer that won't help you any unless it is something simple that an appointed lawyer could do. So save your money and just take the lawyer the court would give you for free.

Attorney Biggerman dealt with company attorneys and my union to relieve an employment situation so that I was able to continue working at my job at a large corporation. His expertise leads. He handled them skillfully; and later, the attorneys and the court appearances. His preparation is top-notch. He produces masterful documents. He is responsive and keeps me informed in a timely manner, enabling me to make the best decisions in my case. Despite the pandemic delays, he continues to represent me with this same level of excellence. I am so glad he is on my side!

I found myself in a difficult situation with my former employer regarding a wrongful termination that led to problems involving a relocation agreement with my former employer. My former employer was motivated to recoup re-location dollars that I allegedly owed. The situation was difficult because of the way I was treated by management, I was point blank fired, and the employer acted quickly to allege that I re-signed (Re-location contract language stated that any employee that resigns is liable for $ owed). Now, I knew that the employer's allegations were false, but needed legal help. So with that said, I researched attorney's in the Cleveland area and my search pointed directly at Attorney Mark Biggerman. After a quick phone consultation, we scheduled an in person meeting to discuss further. Mark impressed me right off the bat by clearly explaining the law surrounding my situation and mapping out a well thought out strategy. After my initial meeting with Mr. Biggerman, I knew my situation would be resolved in my favor. To make a long story short, Mark fought my former employer and a collection agency to clear me of any wrongdoing (Saved 40K). Mark's efforts saved my family from financial ruin! If you are in a situation with a former employer, do yourself a favor and hire Attorney Mark Biggerman. Mark will always be a family friend for the amazing legal work that he provided for my family. Thank you, Mark.

I have hired Mark Biggerman for two projects, both having to do with issues related to my house--one an easement issue and the other a dispute with a neighbor about her gas line on my property. In both cases, Mark provided the documents I needed, and he worked in a timely fashion and was always available when I called him or needed him to be at my property. He has a calm presence, and he does his homework! Finally, his billing is very reasonable. I will also add that he knows well the parameters of his expertise, and he's willing to find another lawyer with the necessary skills if a job does not fall in his wheelhouse. I recommend him without reservation!

Mr. Linnen is a pleasure to work with. His cheerful demeanor and strong knowledge of the law makes him my top recommendation for anyone seeking to resolve their issues. I've nothing but good things to say about the expediency and quality of his work and communication. Throughout the entire process Mr. Linnen was readily available for any queries I had and took his time to explain everything I wanted to know. His approach is, both, personal and professional. I am so happy that I went to Mr. Linnes as his response times were outstanding and he genuinely invested into my case and left me thoroughly impressed. There are hundreds or thousands of lawyers out there but for me and my family, The Linnen Co., L.P.A. Attorneys at Law is the best. Mr. Jay Linnen is very professional, responsive, honest, hardworking, helpful and he is also very nice and friendly person to talk with. His legal knowledge is amazing. My case was perfectly taken care of by him, also in a timely manner. If you are still looking for a lawyer, search no more further, waste no more time. Give him a call and set up your appointment. I highly recommend him.

Turk Law was there for me and my family during our most challenging time. My sister and I never expected our mom to be diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s disease at age 56. At the same time, our grandmother - my mom’s main caregiver - was terminally ill with cancer. We had to get things in order for my grandmother and my mother. This was an incredibly daunting , overwhelming, and heartbreaking task. Turk Law led the way with sincere kindness, understanding, and incredible wisdom. My grandmother’s estate was organized and protected. My mom’s estate was organized and her caregiving needs were met even as her disease caused her condition to rapidly decline every 6 months or so. Turk Law not only has the wisdom, experience, and knowledge to take on cases like this successfully...but they also have the personal experience and compassion to do it in a way that makes their clients feel understood, reassured, and hopeful for the future.

Dave Truman is an excellent attorney. When I was terminated from my position (wrongfully in my opinion though my former employer never admitted it), Mr. Truman took me on as his client. He is knowledgeable, hardworking and very responsive. In fact, when I first called him I was very surprised when he answered the phone himself. I was expecting to leave a voicemail message but instead I got to speak with him immediately. Mr. Truman walked me through the process of appealing my termination and he handled all settlement negotiations. As you can imagine, this is a very stressful process but knowing I had someone on my side with the necessary knowledge and experience made it more manageable. I’m very satisfied with the service I received and am happy to recommend Mr. Truman.

Mr Green was the prosecuting attorney against my husband for a case in which the jury found unanimously in our favor. Shame on Green that he takes cases that should never be pursued and that people’s lives are upended needlessly. Green himself caused two mistrials by passing out, once during jury selection and once during trial. Greens’s own expert witness agreed that everything was within the standard of care. We are still wondering how Green thought he had a case. Please google Harrison Green, Ohio Supreme Court for why he had his license suspended temporarily and what he was indicted for. All of this is MY OPINION.

Just a horrible experience. Dragged out the estate closure for years. The team is disorganized and communicate poorly. No concept of using modern tech to stay in touch (ever heard of a phone?) Nothing is digital. Many of the paralegals don't know what's going on since they don't communicate. Mixed messages about the process and a condescending tone. Don't get me started on the errors and mistakes on the paperwork. Stay away. Your loved ones will appreciate it after you pass.

What a Sexual Harassment Lawyer Can Do for You

A sexual harassment lawyer specializes in representing individuals who have experienced unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature that affects their employment or creates a hostile work environment. These lawyers help victims understand their rights under federal and state laws, such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, and guide them through the process of filing complaints, negotiating settlements, or pursuing litigation. They also assist employers in implementing anti-harassment policies, conducting investigations, and defending against claims.

Whether you're an employee facing harassment or an employer seeking to address or prevent harassment claims, a sexual harassment lawyer can provide the legal expertise needed to navigate these sensitive issues.

When Should I Hire a Sexual Harassment Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a sexual harassment lawyer in the following situations:

  • For Employees:
    • Experiencing workplace harassment: If you are subjected to unwelcome sexual advances, comments, or behavior that creates a hostile or offensive work environment, a lawyer can help you understand your rights and the steps to take.
    • Retaliation for reporting harassment: If you've reported harassment to your employer and are facing retaliation such as demotion, termination, or other adverse actions, a lawyer can help protect your rights.
    • Failure of employer to address complaints: If your employer does not take appropriate action after you've reported harassment, a lawyer can advise on how to escalate the matter legally.
    • Constructive dismissal: If the harassment is so severe that you feel forced to resign, a lawyer can help you pursue a claim for constructive dismissal.
    • Negotiating settlements: If you're considering a settlement with your employer, a lawyer can negotiate on your behalf to ensure you receive fair compensation.
  • For Employers:
    • Receiving a harassment complaint: If an employee has filed a harassment complaint, a lawyer can guide you through the legal obligations for investigating and addressing the complaint.
    • Implementing anti-harassment policies: A lawyer can help you develop and implement policies and training programs to prevent harassment and protect your organization legally.
    • Defending against claims: If your organization is facing a harassment lawsuit, a lawyer can represent you in court or during settlement negotiations.

Hiring a lawyer early can help ensure that your rights are protected and that you take the appropriate legal steps.

What Does a Sexual Harassment Lawyer Do?

A sexual harassment lawyer provides various legal services depending on whether they represent the employee or the employer. Their responsibilities often include:

  • For Employees:
    • Legal consultation: Provide advice on your rights and the merits of your case, helping you understand the legal definitions of harassment and applicable laws.
    • Filing complaints: Assist in filing a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) or state agencies, ensuring that all procedural requirements are met.
    • Negotiating settlements: Engage in negotiations with the employer to secure compensation for damages such as lost wages, emotional distress, or punitive damages.
    • Litigation: Represent you in court if a lawsuit is filed, presenting evidence, questioning witnesses, and making legal arguments to support your case.
    • Protection against retaliation: Advise on how to handle retaliation from your employer and take legal action if necessary.
  • For Employers:
    • Policy development: Help create comprehensive anti-harassment policies and training programs to prevent harassment in the workplace.
    • Internal investigations: Guide the investigation process when a complaint is made, ensuring it is thorough, impartial, and compliant with legal standards.
    • Legal defense: Represent the company in responding to EEOC complaints or lawsuits, aiming to resolve the matter efficiently and protect the organization's interests.
    • Compliance advice: Keep the company informed about changes in employment laws related to harassment and recommend best practices to maintain compliance.

How Are Sexual Harassment Lawyers Paid?

Sexual harassment lawyers typically charge for their services in various ways, depending on the nature of the case and representation:

  • For Employees:
    • Contingency fee: Many lawyers represent employees on a contingency fee basis, meaning they only get paid if they win or settle the case. The fee is usually a percentage of the recovered amount, typically ranging from 25% to 40%.
    • Hourly rate: Some lawyers may charge an hourly rate, especially if the case is unlikely to result in monetary compensation but still requires legal assistance.
  • For Employers:
    • Hourly rate: Lawyers representing employers usually charge by the hour, with rates ranging from $200 to $600 or more, depending on their experience and the case complexity.
    • Retainer: Employers may pay a retainer fee for ongoing legal services, especially if they require regular legal counsel on employment matters.

It's important to discuss fees during the initial consultation to understand the cost structure and any additional expenses.

How Much Does a Sexual Harassment Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a sexual harassment lawyer varies based on several factors:

  • For Employees:
    • Contingency fees: If working on a contingency basis, you typically won't pay any upfront fees. If you win or settle, the lawyer's fee will be a percentage of the compensation. For example, if you settle for $50,000 with a 30% contingency fee, the lawyer would receive $15,000.
    • Hourly rates: If charged hourly, fees can range from $200 to $600 per hour. Total costs depend on the number of hours worked.
  • For Employers:
    • Hourly rates: Legal fees can range from $200 to $600 per hour. A straightforward case might cost between $5,000 and $20,000, while more complex litigation could exceed $50,000.
    • Retainer fees: Ongoing legal services may require a retainer ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 or more, depending on the anticipated legal work.

Always request a detailed fee agreement to understand all potential costs.

Top Questions to Ask a Sexual Harassment Lawyer

Before hiring a sexual harassment lawyer, consider asking the following questions:

  1. What experience do you have with sexual harassment cases?
Ensure the lawyer has a strong background in handling cases similar to yours.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Understand the fee structure, including contingency fees, hourly rates, and any additional costs.
  3. What are the strengths and weaknesses of my case?
Get an honest assessment to set realistic expectations.
  4. What is the likely timeline for my case?
Ask how long the process might take, from filing a complaint to resolution.
  5. Will my case go to trial?
Discuss the likelihood of settling versus going to court.
  6. How involved will I need to be?
Understand what will be required of you throughout the process.
  7. What outcomes can I expect?
Discuss potential remedies, such as compensation, policy changes, or reinstatement.

How to Check the Credibility of a Sexual Harassment Lawyer

To ensure you're hiring a reputable lawyer:

  • Verify their license: Check with your state bar association to confirm they are licensed and in good standing.
  • Review their experience: Look for lawyers who specialize in employment law, particularly sexual harassment cases.
  • Read client reviews: Check online reviews and testimonials on platforms like Avvo or Martindale-Hubbell.
  • Ask for references: A credible lawyer should provide references from past clients.
  • Professional memberships: Membership in organizations like the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) can indicate a focus on employment law.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting:

  • Detailed account: Prepare a written timeline of incidents, including dates, locations, and individuals involved.
  • Documentation: Bring any relevant documents, such as emails, text messages, voicemails, photographs, or witness statements.
  • Employment records: Provide your employment contract, employee handbook, performance reviews, and any prior complaints filed.
  • Questions: Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, or the lawyer's experience.
  • List of witnesses: Note any colleagues or individuals who may have witnessed the harassment or can support your claims.

Being well-prepared will help the lawyer assess your case effectively and provide accurate legal advice.
