If I could have left zero stars , I would have. I hired Karen Jarnigan to represent me in an appeal for SSDI not SSI. In my hearing, I even had my psychiatrist show up to verify my condition. I 100% qualified for SSDI but the reason i was first denied (didn’t have an attorney) they denied me due to not being able to read his medical records on me. This is why I had my psychiatrist attend the hearing which is an unbelievable feat to began with. Good luck getting a MD to testify at a disability hearing to began with which I handled on my own with no help from Jarnigan. She was not ready at all for my hearing. She couldn’t have even reviewed my file as she was clueless. The judge made the hearing extremely confusing and Jarnigan did nothing to straighten out the confusion except sit there and let me try to explain along with my doctor. I am no attorney but honestly i handled everything and didn’t even need her looking back. All she did was make it worse. If i had had an adequate attorney, i am convinced i would have been approved. however, Long story short, the judge denied my SSDI, but possibly SSI?. After the hearing was over, i was furious and Karen Jarnigan told me to basically take a hike and i was lucky to get what I got which was basically nothing. After i went to another attorney Stephen Hyder after this happened and he told me he couldn’t believe how my case was handled and Jarnigan shouldn’t even have a law degree. Trust me when you read this, there is nothing that’s not true. Jarnigan’s receptionist/assistant was a nightmare as well which looking back I should have fired her then.

Please take my advice and stay away! Yes emails are $58 a pop. Yes they charge you $290-$330 per hour. Yes you have to deposit at least $1250-$1800 in retainer fees. Yes you do have to put $5000 in your retainer at court. No I was not happy with the outcome for $20,450.... that's right $20,450! Not for men for them! I wish I could charge them $100 per letter in this review.

I hired Tim Ballard for a child custody case during a sensitive period following the loss of our daughter to cancer. While Tim seemed personable, the service and value I received were unsatisfactory.
My experience with Mr. Ballard was costly and inefficient compared to previous attorneys. Over $8000 and nearly a year later, the only significant progress was one hour of mediation. The costs seemed excessive: $2000 for mediation prep and almost $100 for a brief email. Additionally, I questioned the 5.5 hours billed (Tim does his own billing and invoicing. One month I received several months billing all of a sudden) for mediation prep half billed on a day when Tim was handling another case.
Several months I’m still waiting on discovery questions, child support worksheet, and some bills of my ex spouse to be paid. All of which are “in the works”
Communication issues were persistent. I often had to rebrief him on basic case details, yet was billed for these updates. Despite being promised legal aid assistance, this help materialized late, failing to restore my confidence in the firm.
The process was drawn out, with mediation dates constantly delayed from May to July to November. I felt my case wasn't advocated for effectively, particularly in dealings with the opposing attorney.
Now in the process of switching lawyers, I'm disheartened by the substantial financial and time investment with minimal progress. I'm open to sharing more details with those considering this firm.
A major concern was the inefficient communication costing over half the total fees. I preferred meetings over emails for efficiency, but this approach wasn't adopted.
There were also missed opportunities, like enrolling my daughter in a new school, and periods where Tim was difficult to contact, though active on social media liking the opposing attorneys instagram posts.
In summary, I expected more empathy and proactivity in handling my case. This experience felt like a financial and emotional drain during an already difficult time.

Used Mr. Wagner to do my Chapter 13 bankruptcy case. Is knowledgeable, friendly, and personable in handling the case. Often very slow in responding to inquires or problems once the case was filed, possibly because he is very busy. But, responds quickly when chooses to do so. Had a few surprises that weren't explained very well initially when the case was first filed that cost me more money than it should have and a modification had to be filed to correct them. But, he got the modification done quickly and equitably. Hopefully things will continue to go as smoothly as possible.

I hired Donna Simpson for my disability claim and she didn't reprevent me in a professional manner. She questioned every diagnosis I have and basically made me feel less than human, basically calling me a liar. She was late to my ALJ hearing and didn't even argue my case. I had 1 face to face meeting with her and could never talk with her on the phone. I was only able to speak with her daughter, Carrie. I had her file my appeal to the appeals council and was told that Donna Simpson didn't issue any written paperwork as to why she was appealing the ALJ decision, that she normally leaves it blank a day just files the appeal. If you want to be represented in a professional manner, with a competent attorney, I would advise you to hire anyone other than Donna. I was told after my ALJ hearing, I had a favorable decision, but later found out, I was denied. It's all lies!

I have had the honor of employing Donna Simpson, Attorney at Law, as well as personally experiencing her ability, courage, and most of all her integrity. Attorney Simpson filed my divorce suit in Putnam County. My ex-husband’s attorney was very obstinate and tried to delay the case at every turn.
In her professional, thorough, and determined way, after many delays and motions filed by my ex-husband – including filing for palimony -Attorney Simpson obtained my divorce and the judge ordered what I requested. My ex-husband appealed the case to the Tennessee Court of Appeals and the results of the trial court were upheld. Attorney Simpson remained in control of my case and justice was served.
I feel that many attorneys would have given up my case after the lengthy delays and injurious arguments of the opposition. But her perseverance and attention to every detail of my case brought my divorce to a just conclusion.

Absolute crap. They don’t care about the people. What a scam what a joke. I wonder if they even take any cases. Horrible. Just horrible. I’m saying this from experience with them. I spoke to one of their so-called representatives or want to be lawyers. They agreed to take my case and then 20 days before my hearing they said oh no, we can’t take it. This is for a simple divorce. No assets not contested divorce. Why tell someone you’ll take the case? Don’t let them ruin you too. If my tax dollars go to help fund them, I’m gonna be really upset!!!

Not sure how anyone qualifies for legal aid when their income eligibility for a family of 4 is 25,000 a year. Then when I asked about debt to income, bills, and child support etc was met with incredible hostility and rudeness. That is well below the poverty line. You would have to be homeless to qualify for their services according to the rude woman I spoke with.

I hired this firm to file an SSDI claim. I was wounded in Afghanistan and eligible for expedited SSDI claims processing. In attempting to communicate this to the staff representatives when I filed my claim and in subsequent phone conversations. I was told the firm was not familiar with the Wounded Warrior expedited process and I would need to handle that myself. In an effort to explain the provision the lady I spoke with identified herself as an attorney but then refused to answer my question and passed me off the a supervisor. I informed him that she had identified herself as an attorney and was rather rude. He assured me she had not identified herself as attorney when clearly she had. The end of the conversation was the same. I would need to handle my situation directly with the SSA and the firm could not help me. If you are veteran/wounded warrior I would be very cautious about engaging this firm.

The worst attorney you could hire I wouldn't even consider him an attorney. He's a con artist using the attorney privilege to take money from clients and never having any intentions of actually doing anything for them. His license was suspended in TN in 2023 for misappropriation of funds (stealing) and license in VA was suspended in 2024 for misconduct ( failure to not provide any services and lying about it) . He has another complaint against hin in TN that is pending.

This attorney represented me during my case.
I was very dissatisfied with his service.
Specifically the fact that he would not return phone calls (for weeks at a time) and made false promises.
I also found his assistant to be very rude and dishonest.
At one point, I witnessed his assistant pick-up and hang-up the phone on other clients to avoid taking their call.
I also witnessed Samuel White's assistant advising other clients that Mr. White was out of the office despite the fact he was sitting right beside her. I assume he uses this tactic as well to avoid clients.
Overall I was very dissatisfied and I would not recommend this attorney to anyone.

She took my money and avoided me. She did not communicate. She was extremely unprofessional. She signed court documents without notifying me first. She called on her way to mediation the morning of the mediation I knew nothing about. She is awful and unprofessional. She lost mediated agreement and i showed up to her office twice to sign it. Months later the mediated agreement still was not filed with the court.

Mrs. Johnson does her job well. She basis your case on proof and facts. She does everything she can to defend her client even if you don't realize it. After over a year and what seemed like endless court dates she proved to be hands down one of the best. She will always do her job no matter what. I was recommended to Barbara Loevy from another attorney. I am 41 years old and have worked all of my adult life. In the past two years i've been in and out of ambulances and Memphis emergency rooms over a dozen times. Due to grand-mal seizures and sholder dislocations due to the seizures. My most recent seizure resulted in my siezing while driving, flipping my car and waking up in a hospital. Although I am still young, my body and emotional state feels defeated. I cant pay any bills (Hospital, MLGW, Food, Child support, ect).. and every day I fall furthur behind. Now, to make matters worse, my best friend.."my mother" just passed and I'm lost and falling fast. Pulling myself together, I called the office of Barbara R. Loevy to ask for assistance in fighting for my social security. I was greeted with extremly rude individuals who said "I dont think Barbara wants your case, I suggest you flip trough the yellow pages and find another lawyer" I then asked is there any way I can speak to Ms. Loevy myself. The individual told me no. I then asked the individual for her name so because I always document who I speak with. She told me no! Then hung up the phone. I'm sure, or I hope Attorney Loevy is not aware of the lack of customer service and sensetivity her employees show. This is an example of kicking a person when there down from a firm that is suppose to help. I plan to continue to try to contact this attorney, not to help with my case, but to inform her of exactly how I was treated when I asked her office for help

I had a court appointed laywer.He failed to file the writ of certiorari which stopped the appeal.The Tennessee Court of Appeals contacted the lawyer,they found problems in my transctript.
It was only 43 years later that I found this out.The state had no proof,no weapon,no money,and no witness's.The Tennessee Appeals
set aside my verdict and reinstated it to give the lawyer more time to file the writ of certiorari.If he had done so my sentence would
probably have been over turned and I would have been freed.He still never filed and the court agreed that I had ineffective assistance of counsel.
I am only asking to have this expunged from my record.I served the time all those years ago. You are that Lawyer. The Tennessee board of parole will not help unless you will send me a letter stating why you did not file the writ of cert. I spent four and a half years in prison for a crime I did not do. And 48 years later I am still being punished. I just want my record cleared. The Tennessee court of appeals set aside my conviction so you would have more time to file. They said in their judgement that they contacted you, But you still never filed. Please you can help and make a big different in my life

I had a consultation with this guy, and he was quick to anger. He was rude, and would interrupt me mid sentence with lines like, "I think you have a misunderstanding of situation" I would attempt to explain and he would again cut me off. After I said something, he would then use like like, "So what you're telling me is. . ." and then he would insert argumentative statements that were not what I just said or a correct summary of my talking points. I would stay away from this guy, he seems verbally abusive to his clients, which might result in him putting blame on his clients when he failed them.

I hired this lawyer on October 2015. I was worried soon after when he sent me information in the mail and called me Mr. Ellis, that is not my name. I was never in his office except the day I hired him and only had one talk with him on phone just days before trial. Was declared 25% disable in 1995. After trial I was assured by him we had won and to expect my back pay within 30 days or so. 53 days later I got my unfavorable letter. Just a couple of weeks before trial he sent me for evaluations, should have been much sooner. I do not feel he gave me 100%. Now I got to figure out where i can go to work and who will hire my with multiple health issues! I am soon to be 58 years old, not many jobs in my community, may have to lose house to bank and move! I highly suggest you pursue another attorney!

Ok at first; explained things well then quit communicating. When I attempted to communicate he would become quite aggressive, stating I did not trust him and even went as far as to threaten to drop me as a client if I did not leave things alone. I had questions and would get ambiguous responses. I would then ask a follow up question, because it did not make sense, but he just belittled me and told me how every question cost me money (but without ever answering my original question). I expected a direct, honest response but received the opposite- except for the first consultation where I chose to hire him...and yes, paid the retainer.

This so called lawyer took $4,000, then an Additional $2,000 from me and Abandoned me in the most crucial time of my case and refused to represent me without giving him an extra $10,000.00. I'm a Disabled Senior Citizen on SSI and he took everything that I had in my Savings Account. Keep in mind that this was for Simple Misdemeanor charges. Now I have to go to criminal court without a lawyer because I have no money left.

Lost my case and from my point of view due to NOT knowing what was in my medical records! He knows social security laws well because he used to work for them, and now I think he still does!! I am having to go through this all over again because of his inability and negligence of my case! I hired Tim Coode to appeal my SSDI application, and after almost a year, I find it through a 3rd party, he never filed the appeal. I then went to the office and he told me he knew for over 2 weeks, but failed to contact me. Never offered to fix it or anything. I wouldn't hire this guy for ANYTHING!!!!

He has a little boy receptionist who acts as a gatekeeper and can't even answer simple questions. Coode himself is a terrible advocate. You would be better off representing yourself that having this worthless excuse of a lawyer representing you.

Jerry will tell you that he works for you. That’s the first lie. Everything in your case is predicated on how little he will do, not do as he is asked within the law, and take your retainer and get this, want more money to do his job. He refused to acquire evidence that would have cleared my name from the asst DA. With nearly $2000 left of my retainer Jerry basically told me to go home like a nice little girl because if I anger the court with my legal request the court could throw me in jail. He then wanted to charge me $600 when there was nearly two grand on my account which he has not earned.
