After a bad experience with a previous probate lawyer, we looked at google reviews of many lawyers. Mr. Porter caught our eye since he had a good review from a judge.
It was even more difficult since my sister had just died which precipitated me taking over my mother's estate as well as executing my sister's.
After speaking to him and two other probate lawyers, we chose Mr. Porter.
It was a great decision. Mr. Porter is very efficient, very clear on time lines and explains things very clearly when asked. He made great use of email and billed for these emails extremely fairly. He was very supportive during this very difficult time. He prioritized necessary actions, e.g., placing the notice to creditors as soon as he could.
His assistant, Deanne, is also awesome. She would return emails and phone calls very quickly. She would also answer any questions she could. If she couldn't answer them, she'd get the answers and respond in a timely manner. She was also very kind and supportive during this awful time.
From what I can tell, Mr. Porter got the estates running and closed within the minimum time possible.
If you are in the unfortunate position of needing a probate lawyer, Mr. Porter should be at the top of your list.

GRATITUDE! Where do I start? When I first contacted Mr. Collins I was a mess, I had received a call from my managing broker the day before stating that my Real Estate license had been suspended and I could no longer conduct Real Estate Related Activity. I needed to review the document sent and resolve the problem A S A P, mind you the document sent was from the DDFPR stating that AI had 60 days from the date sent Oct to resolve an issue with I.D.R. for State Taxes. The amount was 10 thousand plus some change. That had grown to a Whopping 17.000 since 2014 from the sale of my two Flat, but wait there’s more. I had received the document on December 8th, 62 days later, and two days too late! That's when my fiancé and I started our search and found Mr. Collins and his team online, from the first contact with Taylor to how fast Mr. Collins got back to me I was impressed. Mr. Collins was calm and cool, reassuring me that everything would be ok. He gathered all my information and the very next day had a game plan with an email that ended with a quote…An object in motion… Newton…He was hired and never stopped. After his research, we found that I had more issues, taxes needed to be filed back to 2008….Yep!I f'ed up! But Mr collins referred me to his C.P.A., Jeff Chang, knocked out all my taxes and stayed in motion, Mind you, this all happened at the peak of Holiday Season. Christmas, New Years. The I R S was on vacay and I was eager to clear this up and inpatient but Mr. Collins Shavonne and Taylor answered every email, call, and question reassuring, me every step of the way, that they were making progress, but there is a process….Needless to say, four and a half weeks later my license was reinstated a T R O was issued to stop any further fees or collections from the I R S and State. My story continues, but I’m positive the outcome will be the same and can’t thank Mr. Collins and his team enough. May the days before you be as blessed as they have made mine.

I was the successor trustee for my deceased aunt's trust. Midway through the process the original attorney handling the trust left the law firm and Colleen Henes was assigned to us. Although we never met in person, we were able to conduct our business via email until completion. Colleen was always up on everything and responded to my emails in a timely manner, even on weekends. I felt I was always kept up to date. It was a pleasant experience working with Colleen.

My friend died and named me executor of her estate. I had never done this before. The accountant I saw to file her taxes advised me that I could pay medical bills before I paid Becky's taxes. That seemed off to me, but I foolishly listened to him and paid a few doctors (she left a TINY estate - about $2000 - and owed the Feds $3500 and doctors about 20,000). The accountant was wrong and the IRS came after ME - saying I had paid medical bills knowing taxes were due and now I was personally liable. Jon took the case for me and handled it very professionally. He was quite organized - knew exactly the documents he needed upfront, got to the IRS immediately, kept me informed of the progress and got me off the hook. My only regret is that I went to the accountant first rather than seeking Jon's counsel. I HIGHLY recommend him. He's intelligent, knowledgeable, organized, communicative - and kind. The whole situation was extremely distressful for me and reassured me and took positive action. I will recommend him whenver possible!

We arrived at 9am for a consultation at 9:30am. We figured we'll be waiting for a while anyway, so we got comfortable. Stacy did not hesitate to welcome us with coffee and assisted us right away, ahead of our scheduled time. Stacy listened to my problem, and was able to provide options for next steps. She also provided her own recommendation. In going through the steps, I completely understood the process, the timeline, my own liability, and the actions and possible outcomes of all parties involved.
Stacy returned phone calls and emails within a day, which is more responsive than any attorney I have worked with previously.
Stacy dealt with more than the issue at hand. She thought and advised strategically, with an eye on future issues.

I was referred to Robert by another attorney (whom I had found via a referral service at work) when my estate planning needs were deemed too complex for the first attorney to handle. Robert took my telephone call (personally) on my first contact attempt, then set up a no-charge consultation for my wife and me the very next day!
Our initial appointment was highly informative, and we were able to use the feedback Robert provided (for free at that point) to make immediate changes to our portfolio beneficiaries, etc., and thereby achieve more than half of our stated objectives. We were so appreciative that we, of course, scheduled follow-up 'on-the-clock' appointments to further refine our plan. Subsequent meetings solidified our approach, and when concluded, we had a new trust, two new wills, updated POA's, and a feeling of confidence in our overall future plan.
What I found so satisfying was that Robert was able to condense the actual documentation we required to a minimal number of changed or updated pages with carefully crafted amendments where applicable, or well-written new documents with specific, clear, and concise 'non-rambling' provisions.
Mark Twain once quipped, "I wanted to write you a short note, but I didn't have time, so I wrote you this long letter". Robert has mastered the skill of the 'short but effective' vs. the 'long and rambling' and Twain would be proud!
I could not have been more satisfied with our engagement, including with the very reasonable final fee. I highly recommend Robert Kolasa for anyone who needs an estate plan review, update, or commencement.

We were planning an extended foreign trip and had not done proper estate planning. We called Steven and he squeezed us into his schedule for an initial, intensive, consultation.
During this extended meeting he was able to determine exactly our plan required. Due to the complexity of the trusts and other documents needed, he and his associate worked over the weekend to finish the full set of trusts, wills, powers of attorney for health care, living will, and a full set of durable powers of attorney.
He also detailed how to have all of our property re-titled so it could be transferred to the trusts. Estate planning can be complex so we were happy we were able to find a very knowledgeable specialist in estate and tax law. We couldn't be happier that we found him.

Adam's attention to detail, and abilities to negotiate terms within contracts that benefit both parties is absolutely outstanding. Most importantly the care and attention for our best interests.
Adam was able to comb through our contracts thoroughly, and find stipulations that could of potentially entered us into a very poor agreement. Most importantly, Adam was able to overturn those stipulations, and find mutual grounds that resulted in a safe agreement for both parties.

It was such a pleasure working with Vincent. I recently purchased my home and the county was reassessing my property at a 60 percent increase and I must admit I was worried if I would even be able to financially afford my new mortgage. Luckily I found Vincent from his rave reviews and decided to hire him. He went above and beyond, helping me all along the way even answering the silliest of questions, always responding promptly. My process was a bit lengthy and Vincent was diligent about fighting/appealing the increase and taking it to the board of reviews. I retained Attorney Scott Marquardt to help me get relief on a criminal case through a pardon/expungement. I faced a case I never should have been convicted of and could not find many lawyers who understood the unique circumstances of that situation. Scott was always very kind, open-minded, and willing to listen carefully to my case. He had no problem taking it on and immediately assigned a team of attorneys to review and draft my petition for clemency. Clemency is an extremely hard process for anyone to get relief, but Scott has never given plan and said he never plans on giving up as long as he's practicing law. While we certainly do not know what the outcome of my petition for a pardon/expungement will be, Scott is always thinking of new strategies that might help getting a favorable outcome on my petition. Furthermore, Scott has also tried other avenues to find relief such as sealing and expungements through the Court system. Scott and his team of attorneys have written brilliant legal arguments on my behalf, and he is still hopeful that some day I might find relief on my case. The legal system and courts make no promises to anyone, but I feel very good that I have Scott and his wonderful team of lawyers working on my case.
