I found Peter Herbst via AVVO when I did a search looking for a new trust attorney. I was looking to revamp my outdated trust documents and make some changes and had no clue where to start. I hired Atty Bearce for what I thought going in would be a fairly simple, straightforward divorce with most things agreed upon up front. I liked that he had trial experience as well, but never expected it to be necessary in mine.
The situation evolved and got a lot more complicated unfortunately. I was very glad to have an experienced attorney, who saw several things coming that I frankly did not. He was always respectful of what I wanted to file for as an outcome, while providing advice on why different things would be a good idea or how they could backfire, while always leaving it ultimately up to me on how to proceed.
I could not be more grateful for both the ultimate outcome of the case, or for the professionalism and helpfulness of Atty Bearce throughout the process. He was always on top of things, reachable, and able to explain complex legal concepts in a clear and easy manner. The support staff at the office was equally friendly and helpful.
Made a difficult process that much easier.
Some specifics involved in my case: a more complicated division of assets, custody division and uniform support orders, discussing a real estate disposition that was definitely non standard, and ultimately having to file for a default judgement when the other party refused to participate in the proceedings. We tried formal mediation but the case was ultimately decided at a trial hearing, something I never expected it to come to at the outset.

In every case, if he couldn't help me himself (due to legal venue, mainly), he would recommend a colleague, or a way forward. I believe he has his client's best interest at heart. Even if he stood to gain financially from moving forward in a matter, if it wasn't smart for me (financially, for example), he would tell me. And he did a lot of research before coming to a conclusion.
He did help me with one matter where a contractor owed me money. After receiving George's letter, the contractor snapped to attention, and paid me in full. I would definitely recommend George to anyone needing legal help.

In June of 2020, I was entering a grocery store and slipped in a puddle of water on the floor and broke my ankle. I was on vacation from California and did not know any Attorneys. A friend suggested George MacKoul in Hyannis. George had practiced in California and was very knowledgeable in both California and Massachusetts law.
George really helped me with ideas to assist him in preparing my case. One suggestion was keeping a daily diary. The case took 2 years to close. George negotiated a very good settlement. He and his Assistant, Diane, made our long-distance communication and document filing seamless.
I would definitely encourage anyone to engage the services of George MacKoul!

I hired George to represent me in a dispute I had with a boat yard. The boatyard failed to properly winterize my boat causing damage to the engines, and the cabin. The boatyards insurance company tried to offer me a small amount of money, but once I had George on the case things changed rapidly. I ended up getting the compensation I was asking for from the insurance company, and they had to dispose of the boat themselves. I can't say enough about George and how he efficiently worked through this dispute for me. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need.

Boyd & Boyd, Centerville, MA, are experts in elder law. We went to one of their free seminars that was advertised in a mailing. We liked what we saw, and there was no pressure. we learned that Probate will cost our heirs 3-5% of our estates. We also learned that only a trust, not a will, avoids probate. Even if a Trust only saved our heirs 3-5% of our estate (although it can do much more), it would be a no-brainer. That alone would far far exceed the cost.
So we worked with Keats Boyd to set up a comprehensive estate plan- Trust, Wills, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Proxies, Living Wills, Homestead protection, etc. Some of the things that especially impressed us were: 1. Working with Keats-it was very easy-he's likable, friendly, down to earth, gentle, patient-
a quality person. 2. Services and fees were clearly explained ahead- no surprises or misunderstandings.
3. Permission to call with questions without being "on the clock" for extra charges. 4. Yearly updates of documents, and three year reviews, at no extra charge. 5. Should anything happen to us, Boyd & Boyd has everything, knows everything, and will walk family members through what needs to be done.
In summary, we had a great experience, and enthusiastically endorse F Keats Boyd III.

I had one of the worst experiences with casey lundregan burns plc firm. I have hired them to represent me in a case which I had such a confidence in them thinking this company would do a good job by working on my behalf, at first they give me all the confidence I needed and in the end it was a disaster. They mislead me treated me in a bad manner by not replying to my emails. Neglect me most of the times and wasn't working in my interest. I wouldn't recommend this firm to no one at all, to all clients out there be very careful of this firm. Not a good firm, I have got a very bad experience from this firm.

Communicative, empathetic, persistent and professional
My mother passed away, predeceased by my father. The estate executor was not fulfilling their responsibilities, after over five years. I offered my assistance to the executor and was repeatedly rebuffed. After consulting with several friends, who are attorneys specializing in other areas of law, I was urged to hire an attorney who specializes in family law.
I immediately thought of Chris Casey, who I have known for many years. We are both members of the Salem Rotary Club. After meeting with Chris, and his associates, I knew I was in the right place. I immediately felt as if a huge weight had been lifted from my shoulders. I was assured they had handled many cases like this before and would be able to help me. They demonstrated great empathy throughout the process, which helped me get through this difficult time. I was apprised of the ongoing legal action through constant communication via email and phone.
The executor continued to be very uncooperative, but my attorneys were persistent. We were forced to go to trial. There were seven pretrial hearings and eventually, due to the uncooperative executor, a trial was needed. During the trial, my attorneys were amazing. The executor and their attorney were left speechless. The judge ruled in my favor on every contested issue. They handled my case with professionalism and achieved an outstanding result. They did such a great job, that I hired them to help me with another family issue concerning a property in Florida. This is an outstanding law firm. Do not hesitate to hire them for your case.

Dena Dionne is the best lawyer I've ever met! She's refuses to drop a case. I parked in her parking space, and she asked me to move. I said don't worry about it, we'll move. She spent the next 5 minutes berating me to get down to the bottom of it. She continued to question me when I moved my car around the corner. She is a relentless lawyer, who will not stop until she gets justice! She even took pictures of my license plate, meaning she does her homework. Alex and Amy are the most genuine people on the EARTH. I been through very difficult time last year no money to pay high retainer to expensive lawyer. In my opinion, personal references are worth their weight in gold as there are so many law offices competing for your business today. How do you choose? Which one should you trust? Well, I am pleased to say that I was delighted that I listened to my friend and contacted this law office. My wife and I worried that setting up our “living trust” would be time consuming and complex. It could not have been more simple. We met via Zoom meetings ( just 2 meetings) to get an understanding of the process and an overview of the product we had chosen. We filled out a workbook with our assets and we discussed beneficiaries and sent back any critical information to Joel. Our next meeting was a 30 minute in-person session where we validated the paperwork and signed the forms. Joel made the experience a pleasant one by laying out any complexities and explaining them in a clear and simple way and and answering any questions we had. Many years ago I had chosen SS&B to help establish the first estate plan for my wife and I. Recently at the passing of my wife, I needed to update all of these plans. Obviously having just lost my wife of almost 40 years and having to pull out all of those documents that we had created together added a bit of stress to a difficult time, added to the stress we had all been facing during the COVID pandemic of 2020.
