Nothing has been done on my case for over a year, and the dude still held on to my balance and refused to give me a final invoice, adding to the emotional stress. I cannot get another lawyer until I am cleared from him financially. But he won't give me a final invoice and the balance so I can move forward. How are these things right?. This is one of the main reasons for firing him. Lies, lies, lies, lies. Do NOT use this firm!

This is a review on Kurta Law and specifically Jonathan Kurta. Jonathan reached out to me a few months back and was representing a group to recover funds on a stock loss. When I first discussed the issue he was very easy to talk to and I didn't feel pressured to join. After talking with him I agreed to move forward and he kept me informed as progress was made and ultimately got an excellent outcome. I want to start by saying my situation was a MESS. Hired prior lawyers who didn’t properly represent me or even submit paperwork that needed to be submitted. I have a child with autism and i wanted to make sure that her father who was absent for a long period of time was going to be in our child’s life for the right reasons. It’s been one heck of a journey - order of protection, accusations, a TON of stress and frustration, i can go on and on and I felt i was getting in a hole i couldn’t get out of for this ongoing case for the past 2 years. Once i hired with the Alber firm - Christina, Christian, Jean and Carla have been communicative, on top of everything, gave me clarity and understanding with the process and were GENUINE. I was able to settle the case with joint legal custody with final decision making, child support and have residential custody along with coming up with a stipulation that allowed both I and the father to come to terms with, making peace on both sides. I thank God first and then i thank this firm ! Would highly recommend to anyone and if i ever need them again, I’ll call them for sure !

Facing mortality is not one of those things one is eager to deal with, but eventually people have to and should do it - make a will, that is. Esther guided us through the process expertly. Elizabeth (Liz) Schmid is the best real estate lawyer I have ever dealt with in my whole life. We had to assist an elderly relative with a complicated home sale in the Hamptons. We live out of state and were working with a power of attorney. We had a timing issue and a bunch of requirements were getting in the way to expedite. Liz went above and beyond the call of duty to make this happen. First, she was nimble and pivoted as needed to meet new deadlines all the time. She also did a fantastic job negotiating sticking points that were a major concern. Additionally, there were countless items not typically handled by a lawyer requiring someone to sort things out and be onsite and Liz made it happen. She also helped us even with finding last minute a contractor to haul items left behind prior to closing. There are tons and tons of other examples like this where any other lawyer would have just not jumped in to help. I have sold and purchased properties in the last 30 years in various states and never have I experienced such top strategy, competence, dedication, problem solving skills and simply put, care, as we experienced with Liz. We are forever grateful to her. Thank you Liz!

This has to be one of the absolute worst firms in the entire city. My mother was hit by a car and in a case that should have taken months to resolve had taken over two years to settle. The communication from them was non existent, and representation was atrocious. I implore anyone who cares for their family members to look for different services than this firm. Please heed this warning as it will save you time, money and actual representation. They charged my mother 33% for absolutely nothing. No follow up, no guidance absolutely nothing. You’d have better chances representing yourself. Good luck to anyone of you who decide to deal with this horrible law firm.
