Vernon has been absolutely amazing. A year and half after I had been injured at work and after receiving medical treatment, it was time to start the settlement process. I was given an offer and wasn't sure if it was good. I found The Sumwalt Group on Google and saw the 5 star reviews. I reached out to them to see if I could get some advice. Vernon was the one to call me and gave me some wonderful free advice on countering and what would be a good amount. He also looked over the settlement agreement I received to make sure it wouldn't mess up any potential social security/disability in the future. Vernon made me feel like he cared and like he wanted the best for me on this settlement and helped me to avoid having to hire a lawyer and drag out the process. I initially met with Mr. Duncan back in January with a no cost, no obligation consultation. At the time, I was overwhelmed with debt (foreclosure, charge offs, and a judgment). Mr. Duncan explained my options in great detail and informed me that my situation (means test pending) qualified for a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. Mr. Duncan asked me why I decided to contact his law firm instead of the other lawyers in Mecklenburg County. I informed Mr. Duncan that I was thoroughly impressed with the content on his website and his informative YouTube videos. The paralegal (Brooke) that was assigned to my case was very prompt with her email responses and informative. Just as Mr. Duncan stated during our meeting, my court filing date was in March and the trustee /creditors meeting was held in mid April. My Chapter 7 Bankruptcy was discharged at the end of June 2016. I am happy to announce that I have just received my brand new secured credit card in the mail on yesterday!

First and foremost, I contacted Mr. Bernanke based on a reference given for taking excellent care of his clients regarding workers compensation type injuries. As an insurance agent, I had a severe ankle injury resulting in my inability to perform my duties and later resulting in termination.
There were four very specific characteristics, which I looked for, in my legal counsel: thoroughness, proactive, knowledge of the systems/law and equally important was his ability to empathize and understand how these issues affected me personally.
Seth and his paralegal staff were extremely thorough in all stages of the discovery process. His follow through in ensuring I received checks on time, but made sure I was compensated appropriately was paramount.

We sincerely hope that you never have to experience being named "Defendant" in a lawsuit based on false, malicious, and meritless accusations. Yes, it does happen...and it happened to us. Had we met Fred Ervin when it all started the lawsuit may never have been filed and if it had been filed it would not have proceeded to the extent to which it did proceed. We are certain that it would have been settled quickly and appropriately. But hind sight is 20/20!
We spent almost a year represented by another attorney defending us in the lawsuit. The lawsuit was out of control and continuing in the wrong direction. We needed to make a change. We needed an EXPERIENCED LITIGATOR.
