He has gotten family members out of speeding tickets and has helped with other more serious charges that other attorneys could not have had dismissed/dropped. He is highly respected by the court officials and fellow attorneys. He is the only Board Certified Criminal Attorney in the County and knows how to win cases or simply have them dismissed. The office Staff is awesome too. A Class A team and excellent attorney. I have also heard the exact same from others he has represented.

Our firm consulted providence Law and had a very bad experience. Lets start with basics. The law firm required basic information, what is your firms name, what is the owners name, what is the address etc. and why are you requiring our services. We provided. 2nd step, make payment. Done. 3rd step is for Providence Law to execute. Well guess what, nope. Providence Law repeats step 1. and sends you an invoice for step 2. Well, here comes time for step 3... Nope not again, another one of their representative will call you and repeat step 1 and step 2 and send you an invoice for it. In step 1 and 2 you end up paying $6k in fees. Yes, they did file something, finally they did something, a filing of about 2k’s worth. And then they send you a termination letter when you don’t want to repeat step 1 and 2 any longer. When you try to call and call for an explanation they DON’T ANSWER but send you a legal letter stating representation is terminated. LOL, WOW... I am trying to warn anyone out there..
Well Guess what providence Law. I am not asking for any additional legal services, I’ve been calling you NOT for additional services, NO sir, all I’ve been calling, calling for our original documentation but you guys don’t respond. I will now publicly ask for our original documents filed. Which NEVER previously provided, NO, NO, NO.. Do not say you have originally provided the document. That will be a lie.. after many calls you finally after me proving you never originally gave us documentation, you sent original filings. But there has been lot more documents missing. If you called me Mr. Craig Morgan I could have explained, but you never returned our calls, not even to explain why termination. And I’ve been calling and calling to ask for original documentation but no response. Legal letter you sent saying copies of our documentation will be sent for additional cost. $8k later... WOW...people this is called a legal robbery. Be careful everyone. Don’t Call Providence Law. Do Not seek their consultation. You won’t get anything but a bill for What is You Name.

Ruth Bradshaw is the WORST LAWYER you could possibly hire! There was a custody case she handle where she was best friends with the opposing Lawyer and made deals in the back end that went against agreements. She was very money hungry and was paid each and everytime she sent a bill. She also dely everything so she could get paid more for only 30 mins of work. When the issue of money for the custody agreement came up, and was told that the money being asked for, would not work out, due to the amount of the child support that was being asked for, she withdrew from the case because she said "well if you can can't afford to pay the child support then, you can't afforded me"! Do not hire especially for custody agreements, Would give a 0 (ZERO!!!) star if could!

Jim is the most unprofessional attorney I have come across in the last 25 years of working with scores of them. My son paid him 1250 dollars last year to fight a traffic case and Jim asked the judge for continuation without my son’s consent. After that he would not schedule the case. He kept postponing it. On one of the court dates he was supposed to represent my son but failed to appear and failed to inform my son who lives in a different county. My son got arrested and my wife had to rush from Fayetteville to Raleigh to plead with the magistrate. The whole thing cost us a bail money of 2000/-. After that Jim never returned phone calls and emails from my son, my wife, my son’s civil attorney and myself. My son had to hire another attorney after one year of drama and dragging by this unscrupulous attorney. That cost him another 750/ dollars. So here is a young man left with a wrongful arrest and 4000/- dollars down due to shear negligence of Jim Van Kamp. You can decide yourself if you want to hire him.
Although I am not in a position to make a diagnosis, other reviews also suggest he has hard time remembering and executing his task as an attorney. May be time for him to get some medical/psychological advice. If this is his attitude, god save his clients.

On June 09, 2018; I was in a car accident on my way to work. To date: I am STILL waiting on a settlement, or information, or an Update as to the status of my claim.!?!? They have done absolutely nothing to keep me in the loop, and each phone call to make an inquiry was initiated by me. Each phone call, I was dismissed and disappointed, and felt as if my case wasn’t important. I called to inquire about the status, and was actually told by an office employee that they were working on a huge case, and that someone would return my call as soon as they were available. Needless to say, that Call was never received, nor returned. On several occasions, I was calling in at least twice a week with updated or new information regarding my case, but was made to feel as if I were a nuisance, and again, calls were never returned. However; I do have to agree, my job has NOT been the most cooperative at providing information to the attorneys, but that IS part of being a hired attorney, that is retrieving that information for the clients claim. I am truly disappointed in my choice in representation, because this was a very easy, open & shut case.

Rawlings agreed to consultation re my surgical injury after I posted on the Bar's matching service. During what was supposed to be a 30 minute consult (actually he only gave me 15), he all but said that my case was very strong. No excuse for the level of injury I had suffered during a routine surgery, he said. I was so encouraged and thus eager to proceed.
Turns out, he wanted $1000 (on top of the 52 paid for initial consult) to "read medical records." I delivered these to him (which I have since learned is not how most lawyers do this - THEY get your records and work on contingency), paid him, and after he failed to appear for our follow-up appt to discuss his findings, he finally called 3 weeks later to say, too bad, no case. Why? Because I should have known the complications of this surgery, he said, and besides, I had signed a consent form.
If this is what the case hinged on, why didn't he ask me up front if I'd signed one? Why did he even need to read my records?
To add insult to injury, he mailed my records back with a letter saying that after his careful consideration, "[my] mother's case" wouldn't stand! He didn't even know who was injured.
$1050 for nothing.

After a 26 year long stellar career as. Green Beret, I was facing 7 felony charges from my ex wife. These charges were all false allegations provided by my ex wife to my chain of command. The Army never once had my back. The Army labeled me a criminal from the first time my ex wife made these allegations. I went through a 3-1/2 year long process that was harder than any military deployment. From the first time we talked to Rob, there was just something about him that was different. He wanted us to do our homework and read his bio before we made a decision to hire him. My outlook on the Military Justice system was very low. I do not trust lawyers or the Military anymore. Rob had my back from day one. His passion, dedication are unmatched. The way he handled my court martial trial was second to none. His heart was in it from the start. He gave me his all. Although I knew in my heart I was innocent of these false allegations I still faced 7 felony charges from the Government. Our experience with Mr. Harding was informative, but it’s a conversation we could have had over the phone. When I initially called in and explained my husband’s accident I was told by the secretary she spoke to Mr. Harding and he said he would take the case. My husband is wheelchair bound since the accident and we live 3 flights up. So getting him out and in the car to drive to an office that was not wheelchair accessible nor the building just to be told the NC laws and why he can’t take the case was a waist of our time. Once he told us he wouldn’t take our case he rushed to get us out even picked up a phone call while we still had questions as if our time was up. He never lifted his head up to even acknowledge me or my question. We understand because you we were not a win and no money would be won because of the laws here in NC were nothing to you. It was waisted time to sit and fill out paperwork and have to relive the whole nightmare all over again to be told you couldn’t help us. The police report was not even accurate and his secretary pointed out several discrepancies but he never looked at it. This has been a true nightmare and I pray no one has to go through what we have. Mr. Whitley was extremely condescending. Wouldn't even let me in the office. Took one look at me and decided I wasn't a rich client that was worth his time. I explained my situation where I was being lied to, pressured, and intimidated by a car insurance company that was legally liable for damages to my vehicle and were refusing to fix or total my car. He agreed I was in the right and they were behaving illegally but he told me to just threaten them with a lawyer, which I have been doing for two weeks. I said thats why I'm here. He said just keep threatening them and they will cave. Well they called my bluff and he refused to represent me. I needed a lawyer, not an empty threat of one. He wouldn't even call them and pressure them. He had me do it and didn't even say anything. I was already doing that for two weeks. He acted like he didn't believe me. Talked down to me and patronized me. His firm claims to handle cases like mine. Now I'm still out of a vehicle and on the verge of losing my job and apartment and at risk of becoming homeless. There's something wrong with our justice system when insurance companies can just do whatever they want to lower income people and lawyers like this treat them like nothing and refuse to represent them. We have no one on our side to represent us and get justice. I would never recommend this jerk to anyone. Waste of time and humiliating.

In the beginning I didn’t think I needed an attorney, I didn’t want to upset anyone on the outside. I thought the insurance company would take care of me and just let them handle it, but as things progressed, they weren’t following through on some things they should have. I looked for an attorney and found a good one in Bob Whitley. I wanted someone I had a good rapport with. I looked in the yellow pages and called several attorneys, and when I spoke with Bob, he offered to come to my home to meet with me, no others did that. When we met, we had a good rapport and I decided to go with the Whitley Law Firm. Their team is extremely knowledgeable in all the situations of my case, with the Workers’ Compensation, Social Security Disability and 3rd party claims. The firm walked me through it and told me what to expect and how they were going to handle it. They always returned my calls, usually within an hour. They were very accessible, which was so important to me. Once I hired Bob as my attorney, I knew I was going to be in good hands and he was going to take care of everything I would need for the rest of my life.

He likes to talk down to you and curse you his license should have been yaken away anlong time ago he has been disciplined by the state and had his license taken and they should have kept them he is a complete rip off! This attorney is shady and do not hire him or e enough waste your time as he did for me. He asked for way too much information and did not even take my case. He did not give me any copies of the papers I signed and when I asked he longer wanted to continue. He would not even send for release of medical records on behalf of an attorney's request as I thought an attorney is suppose to do in order to ask for records. After I asked for these he gave me bad news and said he couldn't help. Even after he made me feel that I had a case and pretending to care about my injuries saying he understood etc etc. He wasted precious time in which I could have found an attorney over a month ago. He has put me in a more difficult situation and has caused more emotionAl stress.

I contacted Paul Dickinson regarding a potential medical malpractice case. We spoke for over an hour via telephone & he seemed genuinely interested in considering my case. i certified mailed him everything he asked for: personal documents, audio file, & hospital records on CD. I never heard from him again, despite numerous calls & emails, and he never returned anything I sent him. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this attorney. He is very unprofessional & unreliable.

Stay Away from this lawyer if you need help
if you want a mute lawyer who will be totally unprepared to handle your case, some one who has no ability to defend you at all, for one he doesnt know how to speak in a court room( i think he was afraid of the judge), He has no idea what to tell you to say or not say. This is the most incompetent lawyer i have ever seen.I thought i was going to get help, I am sorry i hired him, i ended up getting $100 a month in disability. how this person is allowed to be a disability lawyer is beyond me, he is not only a mute ( doesnt know how to or can't speak because he doesnt know what to say in the court room), but he arrived after almost 2 years absolutely 100% unprepared to handle my case & is a total incompetent. STAY AWAY if you desperately need help, do not use this lawyer, You will end up with nothing like i did , i will suffer for the rest of my life because i hired this incompetent instead of an experienced law firm, but how do you know? This lawyer, yes he won my case got 20% of 100,000, but sent me a bill for another $1000!!!!!!! After 7 years of working with him he gained my trust and at the end he just completely lost it. The beginning he stated that if he won my case he would just collect the 20%, if he didn't win my case i would have to pay the legal fees which would be approximately $600. Well he won, and i thought the 20% was all that i would have to pay. Then a month later i got a bill in the mail stating i owed more. I called and complained and he kept stating he didn't say that. The only lawyer i talked to i would know what was said and what was not.
