I had the misfortune of being in a serious accident when a motor vehicle ran a stop sign, causing a collision while riding my bicycle. I recently enlisted the help of “General Contractor” to perform a bathroom/garage conversion on my home. After a month of the contractor stating that he was “waiting on the permitting from the county,” I decided to do research on my own. I then found out that the permitting paperwork was never submitted, and the “contractor” was not licensed, to which he never disclosed this information to me. After requesting for termination of our contract, that was signed almost 2 months prior, I was met with resistance, anger, and threats of legal action. Fortunately, I reached out to T.R. Smith who was extremely knowledgeable and thorough in reviewing the contract that I signed. He was able to demand a full refund of my initial deposit and termination of the contract. T.R.‘s attention to detail and tenacity in doing what is right is like no other. This “contractor” took advantage of me and I’m grateful that T.R. was able to help conclude what could have been drawn out over time with no progress. This could have easily become an extremely unfortunate circumstance for me personally, especially knowing he is not the person who is licensed and insured, as advertised. I don’t think there are enough good words in the dictionary to say how much Kyle Stalnaker helped me! The situation I was in was quite complicated to say the least. I was dealing in a child custody case with an individual who is a narcissist. Not only did he help me get through it, he saw information previous attorneys didn’t see on my case. He was honest with me with how the laws work and what possible outcomes to expect. He saw me through to the very end.
