If I could give Matthew and his team at Loan Lawyers team 1000 stars I would. If you're someone who like to nitpick for bad reviews, please do not do this with Loan Lawyers. They are truly best in their class in the work they do. To summarize my situation, I was sued by a very litigious and notoriously scummy creditor for a sizable amount of money. As this was the first time I've ever been sued, I was incredibly nervous and expecting the worst. The thing is, these creditors hope that you stick your head in the sand and do nothing because then they're awarded the default judgement which is the full debt + court costs and fees. Then, with a judgement, they could garnish your wages and go after your money with a vengeance. I opted to fight back and I chose Loan Lawyers as my counsel. I received tons of mailers of lawyers who said they'd settle or mediate my case to get maybe 60% of the debt negotiated down or help me file for bankruptcy, but Loan Lawyers was the only law office I spoke to who said they'd go on the offensive and get my case completely dismissed for a very reasonable fee. They cited the hundreds of other cases where they've achieved this outcome and I decided to bite the bullet and retain them after checking their reviews and being swayed by their confidence in the result. This is one of those times where what was advertised wasn't too good to be true and they delivered on their promise. My case was completely dismissed with prejudice and the debt gone for good. This was my largest personal debt and for a legal fee a 10th of the amount of my debt, I had it completely erased. In that respect, this lawsuit actually turned out to be a blessing and I'm so incredibly grateful for Loan Lawyers in producing this result for me.

Attorneys missed a court date. Judgement awarded to bank, notified client about the default judgement and sale date. No one told us that I'm not able to modify a mortgage in my late mothers name. Still waiting for a.miricle.

Hi: I have choose this firm Loan Lawyers to represent me in my case, I have been with them for about 8 months, they are working on my case, there are no results yet, it takes time. Appears to be that they are a reputable law firm. I will keep writing on my review , when I see results. Right now I am paying about 500.00 dollars a month for representation, I do not have any complaints. I will keep writing as they progress in the case. Its important to let know people what kind of service you can get.

Mr. Bavaro saved my home from foreclosure...When Chase Bank served me foreclosure papers, I didn't know what to do. I have be living in my home for 18 years and never paid my payments late until I lose my job. I thought I was going to become homeless. As I was driving down sample road, I saw his billboard. When I contacted his office, the front desk person was so nice. She stated to me, don't worry. I made my appointment to met Mr. Bavaro in his Delray Beach office. Once he read through my paperwork, he immediately notice some illegal practices with my mortgage....Moving forward, he saved my home and all the fees that Chase Bank charged me was waived. I highly recommend Mr. Bavaro and his firm....

From the very first call, I knew I picked the right firm. No question was too much. Every question was answered in a timely fashion. Each time I desired a change to something, I received sound easy to understand responses that helped me decide how important my original request was or was not. Bottom line, Chelsea and Hillary were both fantastic. I rarely do reviews so that the fact that I did this one should really tell you something.

Had an issue with former landlord and return of my security deposit. Contacted Scarnecchia Mullin and within 2 days Hillary had reviewed my situation, provided excellent advice and counsel on how to proceed. She also drafted and sent a letter to the landlord which resulted in an amicable resolution to my issue within 1 week. I was not expecting the quick turnaround time and resolution. I highly recommend this firm for their responsiveness, thoroughness and results.

I hired Cliff and his firm to handle a very complicated case after my business partner died. We had to aggressively but smartly get the company back from a bitter but sympathetic widow who would have driven the company and its employees into the ground. So thankful I hired a Cliff and Wolff Law. Got a result I never thought possible. Better than ever expected. All because of a smart strategy from the very beginning.

Mr. Wolff was able to give me sound advice and help me out with a very difficult and touchy situation. He also was able to handle the very aggressive opposing attorney handsomely, so that the matter could be concluded with a minimum of stress and a great result. I will definitely call on him again when I need legal help and have recommended him and will continue to recommend him to friends and business associates.

I recently hired Zach to assist me with a contract. Not only is he knowledgeable, intelligent, and highly competent when it comes to entertainment/sports/business/contract law, he was able to articulate everything in a very succinct and easy to understand way. I would recommend Zach to anyone who needs a transactional attorney!

My wife and I own a sports agency. We were introduced to Zach through a close personal friend. He really impressed us with his knowledge of law. We hired him as our general counsel for the agency. Little did we know that we would have to use his services within a month of us hiring him. We had an age/ identity dispute with a prospective client in the Dominican Republic. I tried to resolve the issue by myself but kept getting the runaround from the main MLB office. I let Zach know that I wasn't getting anywhere with the issue and let him take over. Within 48 hours he had the issue resolved and we were able to have the player eligible to sign with any big league team. In another instance we had an issue with a marketing company and one of our clients. I had Zach and his father Leon take care of the situation with their expertise in that type of law. They had a very aggressive approach while protecting the agency and myself. At the end of this particular situation I was very pleased with the outcome. I highly recommend the Margules Law Firm.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Fort Lauderdale, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
