Caryn was recommended to me by a friend. At our consultation, I was impressed by her professionalism and had the sense that she would fight for me. I was correct on both counts. Caryn was with me every step of the way offering both legal advice and showing care for me as a person. She is a very easy person to talk to and always listens when you speak. Caryn is very upfront which I really appreciated because there is no wasted time or energy. Caryn was always prepared and ready to deal with the opposing counsel. With Caryn representation, I was always confident and informed when dealing with any motions from the court. If you are looking for an attorney who has your best interests at heart and will fight for you, Caryn Grainer should be your choice She guided me thru a difficult journey and I will always be grateful for both her work on the case and the concern she showed for me.

Found Caryn through word of mouth asking friends. Glad I did very professional knows the law and gave me my future back. It was not about winning it was about knowing my rights through the law. In my experience of my divorce it looked ugly on paper but with Caryn’s experience helped me move forward and onward it took one year of her determination to make sure I was treated fairly and not taken advantage of. the year was due to lack of response from the apposing council that she had to deal with pushing court orders to get it over with. All I wanted was to be treated fairly and not be taken advantage of and thanks to Caryn that was the outcome thanks to her knowledge of the law. Word of mouth is a powerful review and I will recommend Caryn to anyone who asks.

We went to see Caryn due to my father in law needing to go through a divorce. The divorce ended up being a fairly messy one due to my mother in law and at the same time my father in law was losing his house, going through kidney failure, had 9 toes and half a foot amputated. No matter what Caryn remained positive and any time we saw her she was always caring about his health. Needless to say we won the case thanks to her going the extra mile, digging in to the lies of my mother in law and really making sure that the judge saw the dishonesty that was happening. I could't be more thankful for finding such a fantastic person to be my lawyer. Thanks again Caryn.

I hired Caryn after firing my first attorney and it was the best thing I could have done. She took my case and ran with it. She explained everything she was doing, reviewed everything with me, and helped me put my fears and mistrusts of attorneys away. She was liked by everyone we encountered from the mediator to the judges and staff. She always made me feel like my case was the most important case she had. She is extremely knowledgable in family law and spent the much needed time preparing for every aspect of my case. My "Ex" husband was looking for ridiculous alimony and she kept me grounded on what may happen. She was upfront, honest, and did everything in her power to prevent him from getting what he wanted. Although he did win some alimony, it was not near what he was looking for so I consider that a victory. As Caryn Grainer came recommended to me, I too would recommend Caryn Grainer to anyone looking for a top notch family law attorney. I started out with an attorney and ended up with a friend.

I highly recommend Evan Kleiman for representation in a criminal case. He is courteous, efficient, professional and makes communication throughout the whole process very easy. He took the time to go over all my concerns literally any time I called. I felt immediately like I was a V.I.P. Most importantly, however, is the result and what it came to that I couldn't have been happier. He was able to ger my charges dismissed prior to the arraignment. He is diligent, professional and highly effective

To say that Aaron Kesselman is a good lawyer would be a gross understatement. Aaron assisted us in the sale of our home. From first contact to the final documents, we found Aaron to be diligent, thorough, and extremely responsive. Aron very much went above and beyond, from finding small inconsistencies in documents to reminders of dates and times. This was the fourth house we have sold, so we are familiar with the process, given that,: I would rate Aaron as exceptional. I would highly recommend Aaron and hope to have the opportunity to work with him again in the future.

My son had a problem where he could have been facing serious time in jail. Mr. Salzman told us that he would do his best to make sure that did not occur. Throughout the process he worked hard to make sure he defended my son. Researching common law and working within the system to get the best result. His hard work and diligence allowed my son to have a favorable outcome.

Richard Salzman is an excellent criminal lawyer in every way! He is kind and easy to talk to. He listens to you and makes you feel like everything is going to be fine. He is so confident, you leave his office feeling calm and reassured. He is easy to reach and always returns calls and he made me feel like I am his most important client! In court, Richard is the ultimate professional. He met me early and put my mind at ease right away. He explained everything and guided me through the process. Richard was prepared, focused and walked into the courtroom full of confidence and energy. He spoke to the Prosecutor and Judge for me and I hardly said a word. It was amazing how everyone treated Richard with so much respect and friendliness. And the BEST thing was, Richard was able to get me a great plea deal where I get my case DISMISSED in 3 months! Richard made a very frightening situation for me a simple “walk in the park” – Thank you Richard!!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Hollywood, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
