The law office of Ryan S. Shipp is reasonable, competent, and keep their clients fully informed. I engaged the firm to evict a tenant and managing attorney Steven G. Ganim took the lead. The firm is reasonable because they offered a flat fee to do the eviction. There were no hidden charges. For example, I was never charged when I had questions for the attorney. Steve is competent because he took the time to carefully review the lease, three day notice and other documents forwarded to them. Furthermore, he didn’t waste time filing the appropriate papers and was ultimately successful with the eviction. Steve kept me fully informed by informing me when documents had been filed and developments in the case. I never had to call him to find out where we were in the process. As a small landlord, I cut corners where it makes sense. But I will always use this firm to address real estate issues in the future.

Rare to find a person, let alone a lawyer that truly dedicates his attention to your questions and concerns like Ryan. My wife and I have used Ryan three times in the past for real estate, notary and title. Each time we have used Ryan and team we were more then satisfied with the speed, results and resolve! Emails and calls returned almost instantaneously before, during after hours.!!! Can't imagine why we would use anyone else. A REAL WINNER!

After reaching out to a few A rated attorneys with regard to a Landlord/Tenant issue for legal advice and learning they charged a $300-$400 consult fee, I passed. The value of my case just did not justify paying the fee, but I did feel the merits of my claim were strong. I should mention I have a B.S. in Paralegal Studies with ABA accreditation, as well as 20 years experience in various areas of civil litigation and working for lawyers. With this background, I do have a stronger understanding of the legal system, how to research, draft pleadings, correspondence, how to prepare for trial, etc., than most, but, even with this experience and training, I'm well aware of the limits it holds and was nervous about pursuing the claim as a pro se litigant. My particular small claims case consisted of multiple layers of disputed items as well as a Counterclaim and I felt I was in need of a lawyer's strategic abilities to monitor and move the case along properly. I was almost ready to give up, until I ran across the Shipp Law Firm and saw the reviews. Sometimes, reviews are suspicious, but after speaking with the receptionist, who was instrumental in my scheduling a consult, I ended up consulting with two associates of the firm, Andrew and Eric. They each provided a review of the facts and offered baseline advice, which was fine at that time. Enough for me to take home and digest, which I did. At some point, I resolved to hire the firm (based on my initial consult) and scheduled a second interview/consult fully prepared to sign a client agreement to pay the legal fees and frankly be rid of the stress and responsibility of the case. Upon arriving for the second consult, I was pleasantly surprised to learn I would be meeting with Ryan (who was prepared and aware of the facts of my claim, as he had been briefed by his associates). He took a few moments listened to my 30 second elevator pitch of my case, reviewed my documents and as he was closing my file said, "you want the good news or the bad news?". The pit in my stomach after hearing his words grew, but what the heck. I think I grimaced and even scolded him (jokingly) for saying this. So, he began to spew the pros and the cons.....basically the pros being...my case DID have merit....the cons being...it didn't hold the value needed to justify paying his attorney fees. I ended up taking home more suggestions, such as "if this, then that" type stuff and remained in an indecisive legal purgatory for several days. After regurgitating Ryan's thoughts and advice and putting on my "big girl" undies, I decided to give it go, pro se. In my case, paying legal fees to recover the same amount was throwing good money after bad, not to mention the lack of control in the final outcome. Doing it myself only meant and still means, I have to be extra prepared and to the extent I'm capable, exercise due diligence in a practice, that I actually have no real "practice" expertise or experience in. What's the worst that can happen, right? ok., won't go there. Back to the review....I wouldn't hesitate to hire Ryan Shipp for a future matter and his suggestion and straightforward, honest and common sense approach in reviewing my case was and is so appreciated. Some lawyers out there, will take ANY case as long as they are paid, regardless of the merits. This is both unethical and wrong; sadly, most people just don't know the difference and how to siphon the good lawyers from the not so good. His final words were something like, "I'd rather you tell people about your experience or about us, or consider me for any future opportunities as your lawyer, rather than simply taking your money and promising the world". Nuff said for me. If you're considering...go in for the consult! It will go a long way in giving you peace of mind as to the next step in your battle, whatever that may be.
