Cody Emerson is the worst attorney I have ever retained to date. He didn't handle my case at all how we discussed prior to retaining. He didn't handle it all according to plan through out the actual case. He was un-reachable for more than weeks at a time and never returned phone calls. I ultimately came to the decscion to terminate him as my lawyer and look for another. He wasted all my money for retainer on a plan that was against my reasons for hiring him. Do yourself the favor, STAY away from Cody Emerson. You would be doing yourself a huge favor. He doesn't file paperwork promptly, he doesn't return your calls or emails and will go against an outlined planned to steal your retainer and rack the bill up. Avoid Cody Emerson at all costs.

Mr. Emerson guided my through a messy custody case. He handled every aspect of my case from custody to child support. The entire process could have been a nightmare, but Mr. Emerson was on top of every date and continually reminding me of paperwork and such on my end. If you want an attorney very attentive to your case as well as yourself I would highly Recomended Mr.Emerson.

Joe represented the responded and I was the petitioner. Family court was the worst experience of my life and dealing with my child's Mother in court was a roller coaster. But Joe is a stand up guy, treated me with respect and dignity, and I could clearly see he always had our son's interest in mind. Anybody is in good hands with this guy.

As a father seeking sole custody, it can be a difficult journey. My wife and I met with Jarica to explain our situation and immediately following our consultation we knew that Jarica was exactly what we needed. Jarica is extremely intelligent and sly. Aside from being extremely down to earth she knows all of the in's and out's of family law. Jerica was GREAT at handling things very carefully, if there are assets, children, relationships, that need either handled delicately or firmly, she will know exactly what to do to protect you and do her best to keep you out of an elongated battle and minimize trauma to all involved parties.

Like many people in need of a lawyer I went online to see which attorneys offered free consultations. The good news was that most lawyers give these free consultations although to my dismay, I wasn’t really on the same page as any one of them. That is until my call back from Jarica Cairns. It became very clear to me only 5 minutes into the conversation that Jarica was extremely bright, sharp, knew the law exceptionally well and was very caring. Our initial consultation was quite lengthy and at no point did she try and rush me off the phone. I felt like for the first time I had someone by my side that was going to give her all to get the results I wanted. My situation was that I was trying to have my ex’s petition to modify child support dismissed since he filed in Florida and none of us are residents of Florida. While every other attorney tried to convince me to keep it in Florida and that it would be too complicated to dismiss, Jarica immediately said to me, “Florida has no subject matter jurisdiction” end of story. Jarica came prepared for our day in court. She managed to tear through my ex’s paltry attempt at claiming Florida domicile in addition to submitting appropriate case law. End result: His petition to modify child support was dismissed for lack of subject matter Jurisdiction which is exactly what Jarica had told me in our initial consultation. It’s because of my recent experience with Jarica Cairns that I highly recommend her to anyone in need of an attorney.
