Mr. Masters helped my 14 year old daughter when she got a moving violation driving her golf cart in Viera, FL. Points on her future license would have delayed her getting her driver’s license and it would have increased our insurance considerably. Mr. Masters was able to plea it down to where we paid a small fine and there would be no lasting repercussions. His office staff is friendly and prompt with their replies and Mr. Masters is very professional and knowledgeable of the law. You can tell he is well respected in the courthouse by the judges, court staff and even the prosecuting attorneys. I highly recommend Mr. Masters.

Attorney Masters represented me in a mortgage foreclosure case. When I couldn't refinance, he successfully negotiated a deal with the bank that allowed me to stay in my home for many months hand then walk away free of the mortgage debt. I am retired, and Attorney Masters gave me much needed peace of mind

I strongly recommend attorney Randol Tracy Masters who is based in Melbourne,Florida for anyone who needs legal help. He is highly compassionate, helpful and attentive to his clients legal information needs. He has been very quick to respond to my inquiries and provided advice and counsel. My entire experience with Mr.Randol Tracy Masters has been very pleasant. Everything has been done in a timely manner and very thorough. Many attorneys do not respond or keep regular business hours. Mr. Randol Tracy Masters has been responsive over the weekends and sometimes even late at night. In short, I have never seen an attorney work so hard, efficient, and friendly. My case was handled with expertise and a caring manner. I was kept informed at all times and matters were patiently explained to me so that I had a full understanding of every step of the process.

Attorney Tracy Masters was a beacon of hope for my daughter and I at a time when our options were limited. He was nothing short of accommodating especially considering I was an out of town client of his. With my case being that of long distance, Tracy worked hard to ensure my satisfactory by making sure I felt comfortably and legally understood. In court, Tracy defended us beautifully with his many years of experience and knowledge in Family Law. His "and my work here is done" demeanor proved to be very successful and I will be forever grateful for his services! I hereby recommend Randol Tracy Masters to anyone in need of a divorce lawyer.

We were victims of hurricane Ian. Our property insurance was with Slide Insurance. Their initial field adjuster was terrific and agreed that the roof needed replacement and the lanai screens repaired. Slide then sent 2 other field adjusters out to refute original adjuster claims and said damage was caused by poor maintenance by us. Well, enter Mike who guided us to a successful claim allowing us to replace the roof and other needed repairs. He was professional, personable and knowledgeable about how insurance companies operate. A perfect lawyer to have on your side when dealing with insurance companies. Thank you Mike! John & Annie Speaker Punta Gorda, Florida

I hired this attorney to represent me in a slip and fall case. It turned out to be a huge mistake. We were offered $100K to settle but my attorneys recommended we go to trial. We were seeking over $4M. We lost the case and now I’m going to get $0. On top of that I have over $500K in medical expenses that I am now liable for and I’m concerned that I might have to pay additional legal fees. These attorneys give bad advice and are not competent in the courtroom.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Melbourne, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
