It is because of this man right here that today I have the handle and not the blade. My defendant sent me to the gallows but Mr. Hollander destroyed them. My defendant lost miserably and owes me money today. It is my observation that Mr. Hollander is thoroughly familiar with the legal system and the judges are familiar with him. Don't be afraid to speak up because that is what I did. Thanks to Mr. Hollander, I am no longer fragile like a flower I am fragile like a b o m b. Take a stand for what is right!

This lawyer changed the course of my life and I am tremendously grateful to him. My personal downfall was a moving target where the universe was laughing at me but it was no match for Mr. Frank Hollander. He is a pit bull clawing at the ground for justice and be warned he does not like bullies. My defendant mocked me and laughed out loud when I talked but Mr. Hollander shut him down. One could never be sure but it later caused the downfall of a corrupt organization that imploded. When anyone is asking me to do business, I have several checkpoints and one is my God given intuition. But when it comes to the letter of the law, it is this man right here Mr. Frank Hollander. He and my gut intuition are on point and work together. I find it interesting that Frank has the same name as Frank Sinatra and St. Francis, the Patron Saint of Lost Causes for a reason. Opponents reading this be forewarned because he will shut it down. Thank you forever, Mr. Hollander.

I have a case related to a car accident that has been called both "interesting" and "vexatious" by everyone(legal and insurance) I've contacted for help. The discussions I had with Mr. Hollander shed invaluable light on the situation. He was spot on. I was waiting on a response from my insurance company about providing legal representation and getting very worried as a court date approached. I needed an attorney and searched here on Avvo.com. I found Mr. Hollander and then looked at at his reviews and website. So I sent him an email with some info(case number, brief explanation) about my case. He got back to me relatively quickly and had already looked at the complaint. We discussed the case details and he predicted everything that has happened thus far. He then dug further in and found out a bunch more stuff. We had a second discussion where he said the insurance company will have to provide me with legal representation(they did). We then talked about my case for about an hour and his thoughts and explanations on it have helped me immensely. He also turned up a document that might end my case quickly. The insurance company attorneys jumped on it as soon as I mentioned it. I forwarded them the same file he sent me. If you read this Frank, thanks again for the help.

As a high-end art collector and retiree, and Austrian resident I bought a painting at an auction house in Florida for a quite remarkable price. After the painting turned out to be a forgery the selling auction house refused to take back and refund the purchase price. Fate wanted me to find Mr Hollander in my despair. It was a great experience to see how Mr. Hollander found some very effective laws. With their correct interpretation he forced the opponent to his knees. It followed a full refund for me and I remain with the greatest thanks and great respect for Mr. Frank Lowell Hollander.

This Guy here is the best lawyer I’ve ever met. Whatever the issue he’ll handle it, 100%. I’ve had the privilege of watching him in court and as well as watching him handle my affairs. Very professional and his speech is convincing; he can convince anyone. I recommend this lawyer to anyone who needs a voice. If you portray your clearly to him, he will make sure that your voice is heard.

I went in to see Carolina to help my father with an immigration issue. He had a case from 1985 that was could have gotten him deported. Ms. Corona informed us that we can try to get the case re-opened and try to get the charges reduced. After about 6 months I just got word that the judge approved to re open the case. We are now waiting to see what will happen with the original case but she is very knowledgable and has been very helpful through out the process. I will post an update when I get one.

Johnlee solved a contract problem for me with reasonable billing. He did just what a lawyer is supposed to do by providing "a lawyer's stock in trade" which is good advice and direction based on his education and experience. I thought his extensive education in other fields was a big help as well.

Alejandro Vera is a great Estate Lawyer and Bilingual. I was looking for a Spanish speaking lawyer as my mother only speaks Spanish. After speaking to Alejandro over the phone I hired him. Alejandro has a true passion for his job. Compassion for his clients. When me and my mother went to his office he immediately asked my mother what was her first language. He spoke to my mother in Spanish and answered all my mother's questions. Alejandro has great communication skills and a willingness to listen. Alejandro did a awesome job with the Estate Will and gave me very clear instructions. I will recommend Alejandro Vera. Thank you very much.

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Miami, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
