After trying by myself to built that complicated application to get a boarding foil to be able to get back home to the US , I had to contact Juliana for help, as a matter of fact this happened during the Olympics Game in France and it was so difficult to get an apt in the American Embassy in Paris , she responded to me instantly we were in contact even week-end to built that case and she had an apt for me in Paris in no time, I am back today in the US, Thank you so much to Juliana and her team, they are amazing professional, caring and helpful. I will recommend Juliana Lamardo to anybody who needs help in immigration matter.

Juliana is simply the best. She achieved a successful cancellation of deportation for a family member when every other attorney said it was impossible. I hired Juliana to represent a close family member facing mandatory deportation with unmatched skills and expertise. I consulted with at least 3 other well respected immigration attorneys in South Florida and they all expressed that there was no chance of a positive resolution based on the complexities of the case. But not Juliana. She presented me with a strategy that no other attorney considered. Not only that, it was a well-reasoned strategy and not meant to simply increase legal fees. As an attorney myself I was impressed with her legal knowledge and acumen, her comfort in the courtroom, her strategic approach and her attention to detail. I had the utmost trust in her legal skills from the first time we spoke. She also kept everyone updated on the case and promptly answered all questions. I am beyond grateful for her dedication and care she showed my family. I highly recommend Juliana and her team if you are need of an immigration attorney. Especially if you or your loved one is facing deportation proceedings. Not only that, even if it is a “simple,” matter, she is the person that can get you the best results. I will forever sing her praises because she is the reason my loved one is home with his family.

Juliana is not just a great attorney but a caring person. She’s smart intelligent and a fighter. I trust her with my life because I know she’s fighting for me as if she were representing a friend or family. I so appreciate her because she’s been there everytime I had a question or worried about something with my case. She’s always keeping up with all the current immigration cases and laws. I was with another law firm before and felt like a number but with Juliana Lamardo I know she's looking out for my best interest. They’re not a lot of people much less attorneys that are genuine and sincere but she is most definitely a Champion for the people. I’m thankful and very appreciative that she is my attorney.

Juliana was exceptional at handling my case. She was accessible, hands on and very patient in explaining all of our next steps. Ive had other lawyers before that were hard to reach and never gave me the peace of mind that I had someone in my court, but Juliana made sure that we could reach her in case anything happened or if we had any questions. She is extremely knowledgable in her field, and gave straightforward advice. You never feel like just another client with Juliana, you feel like a human being who matters, which when it comes to immigration cases is hard to come by. If you want a lawyer that treats your case like what it is: a detrimental life-altering event, than Juliana is your best bet. She is the best lawyer you could have in your corner.

Besides her talent and skills on the immigration matters she is a very kind and sensitive human being. She knows how to be strong, strait, firm and confident at the same time that she treats her clients really good understanding their anxiety, fear and distress. I hired her to be my husband’s attorney. He is in freedom now and with his family!!!

I went in to see Carolina to help my father with an immigration issue. He had a case from 1985 that was could have gotten him deported. Ms. Corona informed us that we can try to get the case re-opened and try to get the charges reduced. After about 6 months I just got word that the judge approved to re open the case. We are now waiting to see what will happen with the original case but she is very knowledgable and has been very helpful through out the process. I will post an update when I get one.

Johnlee solved a contract problem for me with reasonable billing. He did just what a lawyer is supposed to do by providing "a lawyer's stock in trade" which is good advice and direction based on his education and experience. I thought his extensive education in other fields was a big help as well.

Alejandro Vera is a great Estate Lawyer and Bilingual. I was looking for a Spanish speaking lawyer as my mother only speaks Spanish. After speaking to Alejandro over the phone I hired him. Alejandro has a true passion for his job. Compassion for his clients. When me and my mother went to his office he immediately asked my mother what was her first language. He spoke to my mother in Spanish and answered all my mother's questions. Alejandro has great communication skills and a willingness to listen. Alejandro did a awesome job with the Estate Will and gave me very clear instructions. I will recommend Alejandro Vera. Thank you very much.

  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Miami, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
