I have been working with Ari Good for 5 years on issues with the IRS since the sudden death of my mother. I live in MN and needed to trust someone in Florida to advise me and my father. Ari has been understanding, patient, wise, persistent, thorough, professional, helpful and kind throughout this stressful, unknown and difficult time. I am forever grateful for his expertise. I would contact him and feel confident he cares and is working for you.

In this hectic time, it is very difficult to find a caring and highly qualified attorney who will take it on himself to get a job done for the client, beyond what is expected. Ari Good is such a find. He is diligent, caring, strong and reasonable. I have been in business for over 45 years and I have dealt with no less than 1000 attorneys in my career as a real estate developer and broker. My son in law is a good attorney. I have recently had the sincere pleasure to work with one of the best in the field of IRS problems. A very troubling issue and most difficult area to work on, but Ari Good made be feel confident and comfortable, gave me great advice, took on the IRS issue directly, and found a very reasonable solution for me, with the least amount of time, effort and cost. He listens well, prepares well and executes the plan even better. I recommend him to anyone who has IRS issues and needs help.

I have met with several attorneys in the past, they bring you into their office and give you their sales pitch with major promises and little substance. This was not the case with Mr. Good. I was pleasantly surprised with his professionalism, knowledge and quick response to my questions. His sense of showing care for my situation gave me great relief during one of the biggest hardships of my life. During my case Mr Good carefully guided me through each step which enabled me to have a happy and successful outcome. I would definitely use him again, and would highly recommend him.

Several months ago, I was in the position where it became necessary for me to file for bankruptcy. Despite my best efforts, frugal living, and steady work, I was drowning in a sea of debt caused by unemployment for two years after graduation. With no alternative, I began my search for an attorney to represent me. I am a legal professional myself, so I know the difference between a salesman and a quality attorney. Specifically, I wasn’t looking for an attorney to promise me the moon (in my experience, those attorneys are only interested in your money, not in getting you the best possible outcome). Also, I wouldn’t trust a foot doctor to perform brain surgery, so I needed an attorney who specialized in bankruptcy. With those factors in mind, I narrowed down my search to a few bankruptcy attorneys in Naples who had positive reviews from other former clients. My plan was to question all the attorneys I had selected and pick the one I felt most confident in, while meeting my requirements. However, after calling Mr. Ari Good’s office, there was no need to call any others. I was surprised when I called his office, and after speaking with his assistant, Mr. Good took the time to talk to me personally right away. He quickly, but efficiently, explained what needed to be done to get started, as well as major issues with filing for bankruptcy. Also, I had an appointment to see him in short order. As the case proceeded, Mr. Good was there to promptly answer my questions and, at all times, was well organized. The procedure for supplying the large amount of financial information necessary to file bankruptcy was made very easy by Mr. Good’s web-based Q and A system. I could work on gathering my records and imputing the required information on my own time. No need to spend many extra hours filling out paperwork or finding time during a hectic work day. Although I feared problems with certain debts not being discharged (i.e. I would still have to pay the debts after bankruptcy), Mr. Good’s long experience in navigating the treacherous waters of the bankruptcy paid off. While I observed others being unable to answer difficult questions for government officials, I easily avoided any such issues during my examination with Mr. Good’s preparation. Today, I am debt free and am realizing my dream of finally being able to start my own business! If you’re looking for someone who is a better salesman than attorney, I recommend looking elsewhere. However, if you want an experienced attorney who does his job well at a reasonable rate, I highly recommend Mr. Ari Good. - Robert Harper (debt free in 2012!)

I went in to see Carolina to help my father with an immigration issue. He had a case from 1985 that was could have gotten him deported. Ms. Corona informed us that we can try to get the case re-opened and try to get the charges reduced. After about 6 months I just got word that the judge approved to re open the case. We are now waiting to see what will happen with the original case but she is very knowledgable and has been very helpful through out the process. I will post an update when I get one.

Johnlee solved a contract problem for me with reasonable billing. He did just what a lawyer is supposed to do by providing "a lawyer's stock in trade" which is good advice and direction based on his education and experience. I thought his extensive education in other fields was a big help as well.

Alejandro Vera is a great Estate Lawyer and Bilingual. I was looking for a Spanish speaking lawyer as my mother only speaks Spanish. After speaking to Alejandro over the phone I hired him. Alejandro has a true passion for his job. Compassion for his clients. When me and my mother went to his office he immediately asked my mother what was her first language. He spoke to my mother in Spanish and answered all my mother's questions. Alejandro has great communication skills and a willingness to listen. Alejandro did a awesome job with the Estate Will and gave me very clear instructions. I will recommend Alejandro Vera. Thank you very much.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Miami, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
