I highly recommend Richard Hornsby for your defense attorney. He is no nonsense, efficient, and quick. He really does give you the best outcome for your case and provides great advise-- these are things I highly look for in a lawyer and was assured that everything was being taken care of to the best of its ability. My process was less painful than my peers who had similar cases to mine (and those who just used a public defense attorney-- their stories are downright horrific compared to mine). I will always refer my friends or family who need defense representation to Hornsby (in fact I have a friend I referred who is using him now, and he has nothing but good things to say). We never want to have to be in a situation where we need a lawyer, but if that situation arrises for my friends or family-- I will always recommend Richard. Don't trust just anyone with your case-- It is serious and can affect you for years to come. Choosing the right lawyer is just as important as choosing the right doctor. Make sure you put your case in the right hands and who will truly fight for your very best interest.

I spent two weeks interviewing attorneys when I needed to hire representation for a violation of probation case with four alleged charges against my boyfriend. With VOPs, the burden of proof on the state is even lighter as there is no jury trial but the discretion of the judge only so it felt like an uphill climb. I couldn't just hire any attorney and needed one of the best. Mr. Hornsby had excellent reviews and even posts results of past cases on his website for your review which is quite rare. I was nervous but had high expectations. Mr. Hornsby not only met those expectations but far succeeded them. He doesn’t waste your time and will not settle for less than the best possible outcome for your situation. He was very assertive and impressive going in with all guns blazing at the bond hearing; the state floundered and the judge dismissed all four VOP charges. I am beyond thrilled at Mr. Hornsby’s representation. I hope I am never in a situation where I need to hire a criminal defense attorney again, but if I am, the first and only person I will contact for legal representation will be Mr. Hornsby. Mr. Hornsby represented my son following his arrest on drug possession charges in Orange County, Florida in January 2014. My wife and I live in Georgia and received advice on obtaining legal representation from friends in Orange County, who recommended Mr. Hornsby. Mr. Hornsby is a no nonsense attorney who handled our son’s case skillfully. He responded quickly to our questions and concerns during the confusing first weeks our son’s incarceration. A defense attorney friend of ours in Georgia followed the case and thinks that Mr. Hornsby did an excellent job. At our request, Mr. Hornsby also recommended an inpatient rehabilitation facility, which turned out to be an excellent choice. Mr. Hornsby continued to represent our son for one year until he completed the Drug Court program. I highly recommend him as a defense attorney.

I will give him 5 star because I wont take away the fact that he is a good attorney and he gets results. My husband hired him some years back, if you can deal with his arrogance and condescending manner (which put me off instantly initially) it may just be worth your while. He didn't seem to have much conviction of my husbands innocence and continued to try to push him to accepting a plea deal even after my husband adamantly refused on more than one occasion. I really was uneasy going to the trial that we had made the wrong decision in council, we had had some words previously but he assured us he was there to win in the courtroom (mainly for his own reputation I am sure!) He showed up and honestly was a beast in the courtroom and pulled the state apart basically (which isn't that hard when the person is innocent and the states witnesses don't have anything incriminating to say) He is aggressive and good at what he does bottom line. Luckily the jury handed down a not guilty verdict, justice was served and we were happy to have him represent the case even though it was a bit of a bumpy ride and we are grateful to have NOT taken the plea!
