Mr. Gunter is an excellent attorney. I had a grand theft charge in orange county in the state of Florida. I was looking at a felony conviction and up to five years in jail. I live in the state of Pennsylvania, which I knew was going to possibly create problems being it is a thousand mile trip back and forth. I have interviewed several attorneys and did not like different things about them. Then I went to Katz and Phillips. There was something about the attitude and demeanor of the people in this office I liked. I felt like I could trust them and that they were going to look out for my best interest. Shortly after the interview I hired on the team and almost immediately they went to work for me. Mr. Gunter fought for me until the very end and got me a deal I could not refuse. I was given 18 months probation (no jail time) and was able to get my record cleared after the probation was met. He was also able to allow me to continue living in Pennsylvania during the duration of the probation. During the course of the probation Mr. Gunter was always available to talk to and answered any questions I had. I never had to wait long for a return phone call or email. This to me is extremely important in an attorney. I can be a little annoying because I have never been in trouble before and had no idea what to expect. Matt Gunter cleared up any concerns I had and made me feel comfortable the entire time. Finally, I'm at the day where I was able to be released at my half way mark from probation and immediately Mr. Gunter filed the motion for this to happen. Within 1 week the judge released me and this nightmare is finally behind me. All of this could not have happened if it wasn't for Matt Gunter. He is always professional and never misses a beat when it comes to taking care of his clients. The old saying for Florida is "Go on vacation leave on probation"...while that may or may not be true, if you do get into any trouble in Florida I recommend Katz and Phillips law firm and especially Matthew Gunter.

I was arrested for DUI with Refusal to Submit to Tests/Procedures after my wife and I were out one night. I didn't know where to turn because I've never been in a situation like this. As soon as I was home from the uncomfortable night at the jail I researched what I should do. I called a few referenced lawyers from friends and family, but I decided to call around others that I found myself. Matthew was willing to meet and discuss my options within 2 hours of calling. He was even scheduled to see a football game that evening in Gainesville, but was willing to take the time for me before he traveled. After discussing the options with my wife we decided to go with Matthew which I believe was the best choice. He not only was, and still is, very responsive. He will communicate via email, text and phone calls. He will provide any information and answer any questions that are desired. Matthew was able to get me referred to Pre-Trial diversion in Orange County, and provided advice on what I should do and expect. I can vouch that Matthew Gunter knows law very well, and desires to help those that need it. He is very professional, and I will recommend him to any family or friend!

Matthew is a very knowledgeable lawyer, I had the chance to work with him in a very difficult time of my life. I was arrested for DUI and reckless driving on the worst night of my life so far, I was very fortunate to find out about Katz & Phillips firm where I was introduced to Mr. Gunter. New to all this, I was a little worried since I wanted a lawyer who could fight for me not just because of money, but because they care about their client as well....and oh did he fight for me! Matthew and his team at Katz & Phillips put up a fight for me that I'll never forget, my trial went from 9 AM to 9 PM and they fought till the end. I was charged with the minimums for reckless driving, but MOST importantly I was found NOT guilty of DUI and NO jail time! I was very happy with Mr. Gunter. My boyfriend got a ticket for driving without a license. This was the second time, so I was worried. Mr. Gunter was very kind and efficient. He also had a lot of knowledge about law. All we had to do was pay a fine, and the ticket was off of his record. He now has his license. If you ever have traffic issues, you should contact Mr. Gunter, if you want somebody who is professional and knows what their doing.

Matthew was an absolute pleasure to work with; he was highly supportive and helpful throughout my case. He was willing to take as much time as I needed to explain the details of my case to me, and was both very friendly and very knowledgeable throughout. A case that could have been a complete mess ended up going very smoothly thanks to his help. Matthew even managed to win a DMV hearing that I thought would be impossible. Continued to work closely with me even after all my payments had been made and the most important parts of my case had been completed. The man is very good at what he does. Highly recommended.
