Hi, prior to obtaining the law office of Cabanas Law Firm I had pretty much given up and was in the process of an exit plan feeling that all else had failed in saving my home. However, as a final effort I decided to contact their office with no real optimism since I truly felt nothing more could be done and my home was already scheduled for foreclosure. When I called I was greeted with a friendly voice and to my amazement I was asked to come in the same day for a review of the circumstances. My initial meeting was with Mr. Cabana's himself and Jacqueline Zenon. They listened carefully to my circumstances and assured me that not all was lost and most importantly that there was still more that could be done to save my home. Their sense of confidence and understanding gave me renewed hope. Jacqueline worked closely with me and was always very attentive every step of the way. She continually updated me on my file while providing encouragement along the way throughout the entire process. I really felt I had a strong team of capable/ knowledgeable individuals working on my behalf. Today I'm delighted to say that I'm still enjoying living in my home without the fear of foreclosure and truly have an appreciation for Cabanas Law Firm and especially Jacqueline for all of her support and hard work on my behalf. Right from the first consultation with attorney Sergio Cabanas, he offers a very detailed breakdown of the process the matter will take, as well as, answering any questions or concerns you may have. This Firm has a remarkable professional team, they are fully invested to go above and beyond to find the best outcome.

I am hesitant to leave this review since my case is closed. However, since they reached out to me to leave a 5 star review, I'll provide my honest review of my experience. On my first meeting with Mr. Cabanas, he took notes of my divorce case and his words where: "your case is a slam-dunk" and we should settle out of court for about $3000 to $5000, and that he personally will take care of the case. Ok, sounds good. Perfect, hired! My case was assigned to a lawyer that about two months later left the firm. This lawyer prepared the initial filings and my financial disclosure. When the lawyer left the firm, another lawyer took over the case and I am satisfied with Mr Kent's work. However, we had to go over many hours reviewing again the financial disclosure since it was full of errors. For this, I believe I was double charged for the preparation of the financial disclosure documents since Mr. Kent and I had to start them from scratch again. When I inquired about getting credit for the previous lawyer's work since Mr. Kent basically had to redo a lot of work, I was only credited two hours from the previous attorney, since apparently that was the effort that she put on the document. Hmm, I do not believe that for one second. Turns out that my "slam-dunk" case was headed to court even thought I wanted mediation. I was charged for countless hours for attorney Kent's preparation for court even thought I wanted mediation. The case was later settled by mediation, so those court preparation hours where totally unnecessary and not requested by me but I ended up paying them. At this time, the fees kept piling up until I literally forced the lawyer to schedule mediation. After my first hearing at the Broward County Court, I was charged for 3 hours of attorney Kent, even thought the total court time was less than 15 minutes. When I inquired about this charge, I was told that there was two hours of travel time (to/from court). Now, Mr Kent was there already for other cases and he left after my hearing for another cases so I inquired whether I paid for the travel time for the other cases, or if the other cases were billed travel time as well. Their response was ambiguous and more like its common practice. So, that they either billed all their customer travel time for that visit, or I paid the travel time for all of them. Finally, when my property settlement document arrived at the office, I received a one sentence email from Mr Kent stating that the document was ready for pick up. I replied back saying that I will pick them up on a particular date. When I went to pick up the documents, I was handled another bill for $70 charging $35 for time Mr. Kent spent writing my email and another $35 for reading my one-sentence reply. Seriously? $70 for 10 seconds of work? I was not expecting free or cheap legal services, but common business practices towards your customers, you should have some leniency regarding what you bill. Billable hours got stacked so high that up to a point I was afraid to answer the phone or email from them because of their billing practices. This is not what a customer should feel like. At the end I payed close to $25,000 for a mediated divorce (to this firm, the mediation was payed separately). At the end, I felt like the firm was nickel and dime me. I know that legal fees are high and divorce can be expensive, but in my case, I felt that the firm took advantage of my situation and any attempts to correct the billing inconsistencies or issues got sidetracked or ignored. I will not use this firm for any other legal matters.

Attorneys Sergio Cabanas and Mr. Daniel Kent are highly knowledgeable as well as utter professionals. The office staff is a pleasure to interact with and very helpful. My divorce settlement was assigned to a paralegal by the name of Nichol. She was extremely diligent and accompanied me through every step during my time of distress. Regardless how many times I contacted Ms. Nichol, she was always ready/ willing to assist me. I have nothing but the highest praise for this firm.

Once again I want to thanks Mr Sergio Cabanas and his staff specially Jacky Zennon and Florencia for helping me with the foreclosure and the modification of my house, is been a few months my case is resolve and save my house just because all the advice they give to me and how they fight for my case, The moment I hire them they took my case as there own , very professionals and steel taking from them all the advice concern about the home insurance.
