I cannot thank Amber enough for all she did for me! I retained Amber due to my ex husband filing bankruptcy and attempting to not pay me what was owed. She fought HARD for me and got the outcome that was fair. Amber always took the time to listen to my concerns and always got all the information. Amber has restored my faith in lawyers and the legal system.

Amber was retained to help with a tenant of mine filing faulty bankruptcy to delay eviction process. She was extremely knowledgeable in not on the the federal laws associated with the bankruptcy, but also the civil court associates with the eviction. Within 4 weeks of speaking with Amber, the tenant was gone and I had possession of the property. Always answered texts and phone calls. Also was very reasonably priced. I would have paid more for her excellent services.

Reeling from being hoodwinked by another lawyer, I was referred to Amber. After initially reviewing my case via email, we had a consultation to review all of the evidence of my case and she felt that I had been mis-represented by my old lawyers. Discussing specifics, we agreed on a very reasonable sum to do two actions, a letter of demand and to finish a security deposit case that was in holding pattern in court. The letter of demand was a well written instrument, concise, clear and received an offer to settle immediately. My case against a LL was a snarl that had other lawyers keeping me away with a 10 foot pole. After working through my questions, excitement and over eagerness, a date to clear a motion to dismiss stopping my case, was set a 6 weeks later from the hiring date. At the MTD, she succeeded in defending my cause and the opposing council had a settlement offer within 24 hours. Amber is attentive to communications, is timely in producing results, and follows up immediately, if there is any type of confusion. You would do well to keep her in your back pocket.

Amber was recommended to me by the Clearwater Bar Association. I wish I had gotten the name of the woman who answered the phone and gave me Ambers name. I would thank her if I could. Amber was generous with her time and expert opinion from the very start. She took the time to review my case and make recommendations based on my specific needs. Although my case was a small claims matter, she approached it as if it were a grand case. She made me aware of my options and provided me with the knowledge I needed to proceed. I was provided with a retainer agreement and fee expectations in a timely manner. Her willingness to take on my case was greatly appreciated. Her fee was more than fair and reflected the needs for a small claims case. Her time, effort, and professionalism was that of a million dollar case! I would recommend Amber to anyone who asks me if I know a great attorney.

I would just like to say that we are so thankful we found Mr. Charles Ray when we had no hope left. It is nearly impossible to win a will contest in probate litigation from what I hear, but Mr, Ray pulled through and saved our family home for us in an undue influence case. I as well as my sister and all our family will always be grateful to this man for helping us, he was a fire cracker in court saying all the right things when they needed to be said and helping the judge see exactly what had actually transpired.

Natasha is an amazing lawyer and all around great person. Natasha went above and beyond to help me. She was sincere, empathetic, knowledgeable and kind. She listened to our issues and actually cared about helping us find a solution. Many lawyers make you feel like you are not a priority, but that is not the case with Natasha. She does not make you feel rushed, nor does she judge you. She is upfront and honest, which is a rare quality in anyone these days. If something was beyond her scope or not her expertise, she was completely honest and told us immediately. Natasha put the client first and does not want to waste their time or money. If there was something she thought we could do ourselves, she told us. She would happily help us, but gave us the option to do it ourselves if it was something fairly simple, but if we felt it was more than we could handle she made it clear she would handle it for us. I have known many lawyers personally and professionally over the years and I have never met one that I trust and appreciate as much as Natasha. I am so grateful for her kindness and expertise in helping us through one of the most difficult times in our lives.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Port Saint Lucie, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
