Chris really came through for me when finishing the final marriage settlement agreement with my ex-spouse who, historically for several years, had not been keen on reasonable negotiation. As we minced out every syllable in the most complex parenting plan you could ever imagine in an all day long decathlon of legal bartering, Chris helped us calmly navigate through choppy waters to solutions when arguments would surface between my spouse's lawyer and I. I believe Chris was ethical (which was important to me - my mom’s an ethics attorney), but wasn't afraid to fight for my interests as a father (more time with my wonderful son) when I needed it. Chris was also quick and good with the numbers and isn’t afraid to get aggressive if the other party is being unreasonable, but he was understanding enough in my situation to step back in some situations and recognize that it was important to me that I have a healthy relationship with my son’s mother and not take her to the cleaners. Additionally Chris sympathetically laughed with me in my self-deprecating humor when I frequently compared my long painful divorce situation to Andy Dufresne escaping Shawshank Prison through a sewage pipe (from the movie Shawshank Redemption) and pondered the significance of my judge being the same one from the reality TV show “Pet Court”. I was happy to have him on my side going through such a difficult experience in my life and he made it easier for me. Most importantly, he got me the shared time I wanted to be with my wonderful son. :)

On October 1st, 2013 my daughter was attacked by our neighbor's Pit Bull. Our county did nothing, allowing them to keep this dog no strings attached. Shortly after they got a second Pit Bull and the two together terrorized our family for more than a year. They would break the fence trying to get through, climb the fence, and attempt to dig under it always in a manner of attack. I looked for an attorney for a year only to be continually told, "Why don't you just move?", or, "Your daughter did not sustain a bad enough injury". Then I found Mr. Fernandez and his staff. He is the only one who wanted to help. He is the only one who wanted to do something, and the only one who believed we shouldn't leave our home because of dogs and an irresponsible pet owner. I received many threats from the dog owners as well. He believed me and would never do anything unless they talked to me to be sure I was able to maintain my safety. I don't know many today that have that type of character, or hold that type of respect for someone. I certainly did not receive it from many in my county. Those that were in my county that wanted to help had no jurisdiction or standing. It wasn't long, maybe a couple of weeks, after signing on as their client, my son was riding his bike home from school and was hit by a car. I was clueless and had no idea of what to do. This woman who hit my son didn't call 911, instead she put him in her car, the bike in her trunk, drove him home and just dropped him off. Was it a hit and run? What was I supposed to do? The woman only gave me her name and phone number. As an emotionally drained mother, with now two of my children having been hurt, I called up the Fernandez Firm. It was a matter of hours and Tony was back at my house to sign on my son's case. They took care of it for me. I didn't have to think about it or do anything anymore because they knew what to do and did what needed to be done. The Fernandez Firm was like an emotional sling for me in one of the most scary times of my and my family's life while two of my children were hurt and traumatized. We were not just a client, or a number, we were taken under their wing. One could go on about the professionalism of an office and the staff, but the Fernandez Firm is so much higher than just being professional. They are empathetic, sympathetic, compassionate, consoling, sincere, honest, and passionate about what they do and the areas of law they represent. They make you feel safe and secure and work for your best interest. If it weren't for them, I feel I'd still be dealing with the same terror and really feel like there would have been another attack on a member of my family. More than just a settlement, they were the key in saving our lives from two dogs that had the ability to kill, and dog owners who also threatened my life. Mr. Fernandez and his staff got our lives back for us, and for this, I am eternally grateful.

They where prompt accurate and offered great communication. Tony especially was a pleasure to work with and kept me informed of the progress of my case from start to finish. God willing I will never have to use their services again but it means a lot knowing someone has your back.
