At a moment's notice Steve got involved in my son's assault case on and off duty officer he was specific efficient and very reasonably priced even knowing the position we were in from being out of state he could have easily taken advantage of us. My wife has been in the legal field for 30 years and at no point have I ever dealt with an attorney in Michigan that was one-tenth of the attorney that Steve is down in Florida I am the most appreciative client he's ever had and he is definitely a Class Act obviously at this time you figured out that my son's assault charges were reduced and everything was fine and even helped me try to get my bond back properly at no cost as I said he's a Class Act and I'd recommend him to anybody

My husband was in need of professional intervention in some traffic court trouble he was facing. We were panicking and needed help fast. We contacted Steve Gomberg and he handled the issues immediately, and provided us with professional representation through the entire process. Not only did he handle all matters he kept us informed of every decision and action he was taking in a timely matter. We felt very comforted and trusted him completely to handle our matters. I would 100% recommend him to anyone needing representation and I will request his services in the future should I need them.

Attorney Steven Gomberg was referred to my by a friend. After discussing my case by phone, we agreed to meet in his office. Immediately upon meeting him, I felt comfortable and confident that he was the man I wanted to represent me. Mr. Gomberg laid everything out on the table so it was clear what was expected of me and the argument he planned to use to resolve my case. He is so efficient. There were no surprises. Throughout the case, he was available anytime I had questions. He also offered to speak to family members in order to appease any of their concerns. I am very satisfied and highly recommend Attorney Gomberg.

Pros
1
Highly knowledgeable and efficient in handling legal matters
“Steve Gomberg laid everything out on the table so it was clear what was expected of me and the argument he planned to use to resolve my case. He is so efficient. There were no surprises.”
2
Provides personalized attention and communication throughout the process
“Throughout the case, he was available anytime I had questions. He also offered to speak to family members in order to appease any of their concerns.”
3
Able to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
“Due to his orientation to detail and resourcefulness, he was able to find weakness in the prosecutions case by catching lies in the police officer's deposition. By doing so, he managed to negotiate the sentencing from 1 year in jail down to time served.”
4
Trustworthy, moral, and honorable in his approach
“Steve has helped our family on several occasions - he is quick to the scene, knowledgable, and gives advice from both a legal and practical standpoint. He really helps you learn and navigate the system which is pitted against everyone. He's what an attorney should be trustworthy, calm, moral and honorable.”
Cons
1
Can be difficult to reach at times
“He can be a bit hard to reach at times and the expungement also took almost a year and a half which was much longer than expected but I doubt he had much to do with that.”
2
Concerns about prioritizing profit over client's best interests
“My attorney failed to represent me half way through my case because he only wanted money upfront and refused to continue my payment plan. I had a warrant out for my arrest and he wanted me to give him the $500 upfront and since I did not have the money he refused to assist me with this part of my case. MR.Gomberg only takes the route so he can charge more. He does not look out for his clients best interest or the violation of his clients rights.”

Nicole is a great Attorney! She is fair with her pricing and I never feel like she is talking to me just to run the clock. I feel like I am in good hands when Nicole is on the case and I know I don't have to worry because Nicole will do the best job! I have recommended several people and I have never been sorry!

I was recommended to Nicole by a mutual friend in 2005 and she assisted me in a child custody matter concerning my granddaughter. I have since referred her to friends and used her myself for similar cases, real estate transactions and other legal matters, all of which were resolved better than could be anticipated. The thing I appreciate most about Nicole and that separates her from other attorneys I have used in the past is the fact that she tries to get you to work the matter out with the other party and not have you cut off communication (a tactic commonly used by other attorneys to rack up their bill). She truly cares about helping you come to an amicable resolution. However, this being said she becomes a bulldog if necessary and the case goes to trial.

I hired Prestige Land & Law, PLLC and they were wonderful. They took care of everything and made sure everything went smoothly. I highly recommend this firm. They were knowledgeable, both responsive and proactive, negotiated successfully on my behalf. I can't say enough good things about them.

Lindsay was recommended to me by my divorce attorney under pressing circumstances. Lindsay acted swiftly and worked with me on the sale of my house. Because of her due diligence she uncovered issues that could have severely impacted the closing which probably would have resulted in losing the buyer. On top of all that she saved me a considerable amount of money on the closing and which almost made her fees a wash. I cannot imagine going thorough this experience without the council of Lindsay.

Mrs. Demmery recently helped me with a complicated sale of a commercial building. It involved a difficult situation (family) that could have put the sale and then the proceeds from the sale in jeopardy. Her calm yet professional mannerisms were key to accomplishing the task at hand. She did an amazing job! It was a relief knowing that her top notch knowledge regarding real estate law was there to guide the process in an efficient manner. Additionally, the office environment is welcoming and friendly. I highly recommend Mrs. Demmery.

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of West Palm Beach, Florida?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
