I was driving south on 400 when a lady in a large SUV suddenly swerved across and hit me on the side. Then she fled the scene and when I caught her, she tried to intimidate me to stop me from calling the cops. I think she wanted me to think that the police would believer her, over me, for possible racial reasons. I still called the police, who tracked her down. Unfortunately the charges against her were dropped, she denied all responsibility and so did her insurance company. It was a classic case of my word against hers, but Michael Gumprecht tracked down a witness who saw the entire thing, took her deposition and then pushed for a jury trial in Fulton. Just before the trial the insurance company wanted to mediate the case and it finally settled after a long and brutal battle. Justice was served because Michael never gave up on me or my case.
