Too good to be true I reached out to Sean for a custody matter. When I met Sean to discuss the case, expectations and payment (first and only time I saw him) he assured me I had a good case and had nothing to worry about. It started out well but rapidly changed. Lack of replies, availability, out of the office without notification for a week at the time, Cancellation of a hearing without my knowledge nor consent, ie Negligence from his practice, 3 face to face meetings for preparation of mediation cancelled including one while on my way (gave a month notice to schedule them), I got really upset and instead of apologizing he yelled at me and threaten to drop my case. I should have left right there but was afraid. To calm things down, he assured me he would attend the mediation with me. He cancelled the afternoon before due to a hearing (which was most likely scheduled weeks in advance). He sent someone I didn’t know in his place. Due to complete lack of preparation, proper representation & fear, I lost visitation days, gave up the previous visitation schedule, lost my CS, and now trying to keep my job due to what was agreed at that time. I even called the office during mediation stating I wasn’t comfortable with what was happening. When I realized what happened, it was too late. I signed the agreement but was never advised this would be binding.. Needless to say my experience has been far from positive and I am in worse situation now that I was prior to hiring Sean. I feel taken advantage of as a foreign single working mother. I ended up having to hire someone to try to fix the mess. I also asked due to the outcome of the case a PARTIAL refund. His reply: he would take legal actions against me if I was going to ask again. He is standing by his “good work” even though he got his behind kicked by a 2019 graduate from the OC and this costs me close to $100K... Sean took another vacation right after and doesn’t seem bothered by the outcome. I trusted him ... my mistake. If you have a sensitive matter that involved kids or divorce then do invest that few extra thousands for an attorney who will represents you and care about your case.. I don’t believe in threats and that’s all I got from Sean. BIG ego and not accountable. I didn’t expect an apology but a partial refund based on the obvious lack of representation that lead to that result. My mother overseas got really sick over all of this as she could not believe that someone could act in such way. I can’t express enough the financial and emotional stress he put us in, every interaction with his office was stressful. If this can help one person, then this review is worth it...go to someone who cares.. I was one of the few who had a terrible experience.. it s a gamble with Sean.

The law offices of Sean Whitworth has been representing me for the past 6 years. Sean is not just a really good lawyer, to me he’s an ambassador for all Parents that are fighting to be in their children’s lives. Sean Whitworth has been with me every step of the way from legitimation to full custody. Sean Whitworth bought into my desire to fight for my children. Do not expect Sean to honor attorbey-client privledge which is a fundamental legal canon. I hired Sean to negotiate a settlement in my divorce case during my cancer treatment, not only did he not negotiate for the $5,000.00 flat fee, but he encouraged me to take a settlement that would cause me financial damages. His negotiations consisted of 4 text messages and 3 emails to opposing counsel none of which met the standard of negotiations. Sean never ask for the correct, current, financial documents even after opposing counsel admitted to Sean he gave him out dated financial data. Even opposing counsel said in open court the issues I've had my counsel is legal malpractice. Cannot, ever, recommend Sean Whitworth. Not only did he breach our contractual agreement but when I challenged him on it, he instantly became a bully attempted to intimidate me. Sean refused to admit to me he never received the updated financial documents and sat silent on court when opposing said he did give Sean the updated financial documents. After nearly 13months Sean admitted opposing counsel never gave him the updated financials, but he refused to admit it until I was sanctioned for his bad faith negotiations...Sean was served a subpoena by opposing counsel for Sean to give opposing counsel documents that are attorney client provided, Sean didn't file a motion to quash and freely appeared in court and communicated with the judge w/out being sworn in, and Sean , while appearing g in court, heard opposing counsels false statements that he gave Sean updated financials on Nov 7 2019 for the purpose of negotiating a settlement, Sean knew opposing counsel never did any such thing and knew opposing counsel was making intentional false statements in court that were made to cause me financial damages,and did. Sean sat silent while I was damaged for his bad-faith negotiations with opposing counsel, Lance Gowens, Complaints against an attorney can be made to the Georgia State Bar. Cannot and will not recommend Sean Whitworth. Ever. He has a duty to defend the truth of which he refuses to do after Gowens falsely stated in an affidavit, he gave Sean Plaintoffs updated financials for settlement- NEVER HAPPENED, SEAN REFUSES. TO WRITE AFFIDAVIT STATING LANCE GOWENS DID NOT GIVE HIM THE FINANCIALS TO MY DETRIMENT!! THAT, IS DUSTURBING! ONE LAWYER COVERING UP THE INTENTIONAL PERJURY OF ANOTHER LAWYER AT MY EXPENSE, SEANS CLIENT! SEAN HAS A DUTY TO REPORT LANCE GOWENS PERJURY IN THIS CASE BWCAUSE THAT PERJURY INVOLVES SEAN WHITWORTH.

Update: Mr. Whitworth is very knowledgeable and was able to object and defend me very quickly. He won every aspect of my case and got me more than I ever expected. The flat fee was the only way I could afford an attorney and he even won that so my ex has to pay me back for my attorney fees. He has his own way of working; stick with him because he won’t let you down! He got me the best results possible and is great at what he does. I am so thankful for Mr. Whitworth and forever grateful that I was referred to him. He fought for me and was aggressive in my case. Appreciate very much!

Sean Whitworth and his team took care of me and my family. When I was at my end emotionally in a senseless litigation process, Sean made sure that I received a fair outcome.
