Ryan Margulis handled my father’s workman’s comp case over the past four years. My father miraculously survived a car fire in a company vehicle that had been recalled for fire risk, unbeknownst to him. My father’s employer pulled all sorts of shenanigans to try and get out of compensating him for medical, wages, and other costs. Ryan always had our back and got the bills paid. He was a pro and always good to his word. When he said don’t worry, we learned to trust he’d get it done. I do not live in Illinois, so I have never even met Ryan “in person” — a fact that only occurred to me after we reached a settlement recently with the insurance company. I realized we would no longer be receiving emails from Ryan at all hours of the day in response to any question — big or small. I hope I am never in a situation where a friend or loved one goes through the trauma of a debilitating workplace injury and dealing with nefarious insurance enterprises — but should that happen, I would recommend, in a heartbeat, Ryan and this company. I was hit by a drunk driver in a work truck while on the way to a job. My 10 thousand pound F350 work vehicle was hit so violently it spun 180 degrees and was completely totaled. At the hospital doctors and police could be heard talking about how the drunk driver was three time over the legal limit of alcohol. My local office of a national company assured me that they would provide legal representation and that I did not need to go to court. The result - the national office was never notified of the accident, there was NO legal representation and the drunk driver walked away with a ticket of running a red light. The company I work for was thrilled because the drunk driver's insurance paid enough money for them to buy three new vehicles. My case was complicated and there is not much precedent to follow. However she was able to provide a strategy that not only has solid legal ground but also customized for my specific situation.
