From A Former NFL Player... I have had the unfortunate experience of being dragged through the justice system. My goal in life was to always give back. I came from very humble beginnings so when I was drafted to the NFL I knew that no matter what happened in my career I would use that platform to help change the lives of those I came in contact with if possible. With any opportunity that was made available to me I gave back. I eventually landed in the juvenile justice field. I felt that I would finally be in a position to show people your past does not define you and you can do and be better if you work hard. Unfortunately I found myself in the middle of a impropriety and I couldn't grasp how and why. The amount of shame and embarrassment that came from seeing my face plastered on the news and the flood of negative publicity with the assumption of guilt broke me. I knew that I had no wrong doing but someone else was controlling that narrative. I lost 4 1/2 years of my life with this cloud hanging over me. I lost my job my credibility and my self esteem. I truly thought everything was lost and I finally understood the lack of faith in the justice system until I met David Smith. David reviewed my case and was flabbergasted at the position I was in. He was confident and honestly help restore my confidence. It was a blessing and much needed therapy to hear someone say they knew I was innocent. David Smith is not just a lawyer he is family.
