If you’re looking for someone that cares, and knows his way around the courtroom , that’s respectful and professional. Then Mr. Bas is the guy to run to for help with a bad situation and in need of a damn good resolution. The first time I spoke to Mr.Bas , I knew in my soul, “that the good lord placed the right man in charge of my daughter’s life and freedom.” I explained her case to him , and he said to me I want to help your daughter, and don’t worry everything is gonna be alright. After talking to him and hanging up the phone, I remember my heart feeling lighter and me just simply feeling good about our conversation, I told myself you never met this man before, and you have so much trust in him, believe me when your a praying mother that believes in god , you know that god picks the best to get the job done. My daughter had 3 serious charges, she was charged with first degree attempted murder, aggravated battery and discharge of a weapon, my baby girl was looking at 30 years at 85%. God is awesome and so are the angels that work for him. Robert “yes we’re on first name basis now”went to work and did his job, he made our family so very happy, my baby will not see any prison time , but she has to walk down 48 months of probation. When I say God is good believe me , we were just blessed with such a earth shattering outcome, thanks to Mr.Bas for knowing what he knows. Thank you Like I said if your in a bad situation and in need of a awesome resolution, then Robert Bas is the man to run to, he won’t disappoint.

Hired Mr. Bas for a license hearing to get my license back reinstated due to a second DUI I caught in 2013. The first hearing I had I went alone. It wasn’t bad I didn’t understand the line of questioning they were asking plus I was nervous. I got denied and my denial letter had two issues I needed to address before returning for another hearing. I decided to hire Mr. Bas due to a recommendation from another lawyer that was referred to me by an ex co-worker who was in a similar situation and got his license back. First time I met with Mr. Bas he was 45mins late. The next few times we meet he was late for those appointments also. It seemed as if he just skimmed though my paperwork and came up with a game plan to address the issues at the hearing. When I received the hearing date I noticed it was for Springfield, IL office not the Mount Vernon, IL office I got denied from the first time I went alone. It was odd to me but I figured he’s the lawyer he must know something I don’t because I would have went back to the office I got denied to address the issues they stated in the denial letter. I thought maybe Springfield is where he usually go to do hearing. The day of the hearing my girlfriend and I were on the expressway headed up to Springfield when Mr. Bas called and checked to see if we were headed to Springfield not Mount Vernon as if there was a screw up in location choices on his behave. We arrived to the hearing office and the staff was introducing themselves to each other and they stated they haven’t seen him in that office before which was a red flag for me. The hearing proceeded, we addressed the issues and the judge started asking many questions relating to my first DUI which Mount Vernon office didn’t do. After the hearing I told Mr. Bas that the hearing went terrible but he insisted that we did good and addressed the problems. After receiving the second denial letter from Springfield office there were more issues on that letter than the first letter from when I went to my first hearing alone. Mr. Bas changed me $2,500 to take on my case and I feel as if he just took my money and had no clue as to what he was getting himself into. I guess it’s partly my fault also for not doing research on him. The lawyer that referred him stated that Mr. Bas used to prosecute DUI cases so I thought he would be the best man for the job but apparently prosecuting DUI’s and hearing are totally different areas. I’m very dissatisfied in Mr. Bas services.

I hired Michael based on a recommendation-what a mistake. If your are reading this...let me save your some time. I spent $5000 for no results and ended up hiring another attorney. I HATE that I have to write this review and I gave Michael plenty of opportunities to earn his reputation but he consistently underperformed. Let me start with his communication...terrible. Numerous emails, phone calls, etc went unanswered and status updates on my case consisted of me badgering his office for info. What he did promise/communicate on strategy on my case was all talk and no action. Any finally, and pay attention, here...after finally doing my research on attorneys (SHAME ON ME), Michael's standing in the family law community is laughable at best...any strong lawyer would love to oppose him. Do yourself a favor...spend your money wisely and hire anyone else besides him. His work is sloppy, his office is shoddy, and his reputation is, well, have I said enough...?

This was the worse thing I could have done was to hire this atty. No communication for up t 3 weeks some times. No facts or discovery was done correctly they waited a month and a half to file my divorce so my ex beat me to the punch...I had not alot to fight over either and I am still cleaning up his mess with another attorney...awful..office girl brittany...even worse...don't do it!

Robert bass is an excelent attorney !! My Mother is so greatful for him he did solve a case thats had started 2 years ago on this very month he was always very communitive with us at all time ,always made sure to informed us what was going on in the case and was there when ever we called to ask questions , send us letters and never gave up on us. My mother and I live in Tucson az and even miles away he was able to handle everything and closed her case with out us having to fly up to illinois he is a very hard working man that would do anything to solve this case we are extremly greatful and honered to had such a great attorney we couldnt have asked for a better one . would recommend him 10000% and would trust to put our lives in his hands . I don't normally review people or business's for that matter. But in this instance I feel the urge to get a good word out there. I'm a recent client of Michael Swanson. I went through a separation and decided I wanted more time with my son than the mother was willing to allow. After consulting with several attorneys and spending money that could of of been used elsewhere I found M. Swanson. To make a long story short he exceeded all of my expectations from the consultation to the advice, strategy and overall representation. Not to mention he is way more affordable than most others. When all was said and done (in a very timely manner) I was given 50/50 custody and visitation. I couldn't be happier!

I highly recomend Michael Swanson. He is an amazing attorney and will be with you every step of the way to get you where you need to be. I couldnt have asked for any better. He has changed my life in many ways for the better and really listened to me and my concerns. He helped me to not be so scared in moving on with my life and kept my children and I safe. He helped me with a Oder of Protection for my self and my children which is for 2 years and has walked me through a nasty divorce and child custody in which I am receiving Sole Custody of our children. Thank you Michael you are amazing at what you do. My children and I are able to laugh again and be happy and its ok.You gave us our lives back Thank you too the staff as well. Also Jeremy Sackett his partner has jumped in to help with different questions which was much appreciated. I will forever be grateful to everyone at Swanson & Sackett.
