Steve Brody is a talented attorney and a great human being. On occasion, he appeared disorganized and disconnected but when it counted, he was extremely sharp and tenacious. He knows the law very well, he tells it like it is, and verified every claim I made along the way. Since 2015, I have worked with two different divorce attorneys, and met five different divorce attorneys who represented my ex-husband. Through these experiences, Attorney Brody stands out in ways I found very important to me as a client. He is dedicated and often works seven days a week. (I just met with him today, on a Saturday morning, at 8:00 A.M..) Attorney Brody is smart and savvy--an important, rare distinction. He knows the law, but he also reads people well, and he knows the correct approach to take to achieve outcomes. He is the perfect balance between street smart and book smart. The trait that also left an impression is his humility; he's a genuine, down-to-earth kind of guy. He won't pepper you with "lawyer talk" to make you feel intimidated or that he's better than you. He doesn't judge. Rather, he is a straight-talker who may not always tell you what you want to hear, but he'll tell you the truth so that he can best help you. He is unconventional, for sure, but I admire that. He is not about to change himself to fit into the stereotype of a family attorney. He does things the way he feels are right and honest whether that is inline with tortoise-shell horned-rimmed glasses attorney stereotypes or not. Yes, his office is filled with piles of papers as some clients have mentioned. Be careful not to misjudge him for this. He knows where things are, and I personally take the piles as a good sign. They mean he is often hired because he is talented. The piles mean that he is busy. The last thing I want as a client is an attorney to have a clean office because that they aren't being hired or means he or she is using precious time on things other than the clients. Attorney Brody doesn't waste his time like this for the simple sake of having an office that may or may not impress you. He cares more for working for you than working to impress you. Just because it's not a system that works for the particular clients who wrote those statements in their reviews, doesn't mean it doesn't work for Attorney Brody. I have two daughters ages 11 and 9. My ex-wife continuously fights with my youngest and the stress has effected both of my children. Steve helped me change the parenting schedule giving me the vast majority of the time with them. My daughters are much happier now that they are residing primarily with me and my new wife. Steve was available to me throughout the case and continues to be whenever issues arise. His analysis of the situation at the beginning and action plan were instrumental in achieving the results I needed for my daughters. I wouldn’t go anyplace else for legal advice.
