My new car starting shuddering and making a loud grinding sound during acceleration several months after I bought it. I tried numerous times to get it repaired with two different dealers, only to be told that the shuddering and noise was within normal operating specifications (complete nonsense as far as I'm concered). Meanwhile, the car continued to get worse. I finally decided to contact Scott's firm to file a Lemon Law case after I was told for the fourth or fifth time that nothing was wrong with my car. I'm very happy I chose to go with Scott Cohen's firm. One of my biggest worries prior to filing suit was that I'd get tripped up with all the forms I'd have to fill out, but Scott and his associate John Barker clearly explained what I needed to do during each step and made it all as painless as possible for me. Throughout the whole process, the manufacturer tried to drag everything out as long as possible. During that time, Scott kept me informed of everything that was happening and what the most likely next step would be. A few months before the trial date, we had a mediation in which the manufacturer made a much higher settlement offer than they had made previously; an offer which included Scott's legal fees. The case could have been over there and Scott would have gotten his fees paid, but he counseled me that I should hold out for a higher offer, even though that was putting his own payment in jeopardy. That moment truly spoke to Scott's integrity and made it clear that he was putting my interests above his. In the end, we reached a settlment a few days before trial and I got 33% more than I originally thought the best case scenario would be. I noticed a few of the other reviews here gave Scott's firm a low score because of his fees. I think those reviews are unfair, and the authors may have misunderstood how legal fees work in this situation. Scott works on retainer, so his fees are only to be paid if the case settles or if he wins a trial. When a settlment offer is made, it will specify whether or not the offer includes paying the plaintiff's legal fees, and the plaintiff (not Scott) chooses whether to accept or not. If a settlement does not include the legal fees, then the plaintiff is responsible for paying their lawyer out of their settlement. Prior to starting the case, Scott explained that I should only accept a settlement offer if it includes his legal fees because otherwise I'd be responsible for paying him directly. Scott stressed this point to me each time a settlement offer was made. The eventual settlement included Scott's fees, and also an amount for myself that I was quite happy with.

I wish more than anything I would have done more research before agreeing to work with this law firm. I can fully agree with the 3 other 1 star ratings that were left. While my case isn't fully over this journey has been far beyond unpleasant. There were two attorneys working on my case and several times they had given me information that contradicted each other. They are taking over 86% of the settlement. They estimated my case costs to be $300-$500 and then charged me $854.59. I was completely used and abused the problem I have is it's hard to determine who screwed me worse the car dealership or this law firm. To top it off I've had other companies send me letters saying I'm entitled to compensation due to my car being known to be a defective vehicle all of which have better google ratings than this law firm.

Thank twice before hiring or working with this firm. At first, they seem straight up and promise to stand by you. Once you get a settlement, they take over 80% of payment and say is for payment of "legal fees". Shady and simply abusive. I'm sorry I ever retained them. Also, original agreement doesn't specify percentage of fees. Stay clear away.

I was in a partnership with someone who was abusing their managing member authority, and was stuck in a holding pattern for two years. I put in a search for an attorney to assist me, and Jeffrey Crane contacted me within 24 hours. He spoke at length to me about my options, asked lots of clarifying questions so that he understood the background, and then recommended a course of action. I followed his advice, and he was able to bring my partnership to a conclusion in a timely manner. He was diligent in following up with my former partner's attorney and consistently prodded them into ultimately settling the matter out of court to my satisfaction. I would highly recommend Jeffrey Crane for any matters involving a dissolution of partnership.
