I employed the services of Jim Zuba to finish my almost 2 year-long divorce. As my case was fairly complex in nature, I was concerned that my change in attorneys would result in a significant loss in ground resulting in a lengthy delay in its ultimate settlement. From the initial consultation with Jim, I was extremely impressed with his strong grasp of numbers, business scenarios, and marital law. I could also tell that he had an exceedingly high moral character and would be very comfortable to talk with both which I knew would make the whole process much easier. Jim was able to both immediately jump into my case and have a dramatic positive impact on my next pre-trial hearing which took place only three weeks after Jim started. This ultimately set the stage for what I believe was an equitable settlement that was realized only 6 weeks after Jim started. I consider this a remarkable feat in light of the fact that prior to Jim’s entrance, I had been struggling with the case for almost 2 years. I could not give Jim higher marks in the way he represented me with one of the most difficult situations in my life. Whenever I need any legal expertise/representation in the future, I will look to Jim for his help. I consider Jim a true expert in his field and even more, a friend. I cannot thank you enough Jim.

After signing a contract of engagement with my wife and Zuba & Associates; I emailed Mr. Zuba several times over the next few days apparently not to his liking. He called us in to his office,we assumed to discuss our case but it turned out he called us in to belittle me and humiliate me in front of my wife. He fired me! Not really even sure how that happens???? Would definitely recommend steering clear of this attorney unless you are ready to treat him with the respect I reserve for my God. I typically reserve negative reviews but feel inclined to warn other consumers.

When you email a business 3 times and you get zero reply. That should tell you everything about this law firm. Unprofessional

divorced in 2017 used a family legal firm with young lawyer handling divorces and got terrible results. Found Jim to handle my maintenance adjustment in 2020 and he was the best. took my emotions out of the battle and did a great job in court. i would recommend him to anyone.

Althoughy my ex-husband and I both no longer reside in the state of Illinois, Winnebago County retains jurisdiction over our divorce / child custody case from 2013. In the last two years (while living abroad) I have contacted DOZENS of lawyers in the Rockford area with my messy child custody case, which could turn into a potential custody battle. Trying to find quality legal representation in an area so far away - or even someone who was confident taking my rather complicated case - felt like searching for a needle in a haystack. I had no idea where to start, so relied heavily on google reviews (like everyone else!) to find the right lawyer for my needs. From the first phone consultation I had with Jim Zuba, I felt at ease - something I had NEVER felt in regards to my divorce/child custody case in Winnebago County. In an otherwise escalating and highly emotional, anxiety-provoking situation, I felt reassured, at ease and like I could finally hand someone else my legal mess-of-a-situation and THEY could TELL ME what I should do: what my rights, options, and best courses of action would be. Both he and Attorney Evans took the time to carefully explain things to me, were very professional and recommended courses of actions that felt both fair and that had mine and my children’s best interest in mind. The retainer and fees were fairly priced, and they worked with me on a payment plan once litigation began. Zuba & Associates maintains an air of class, dignity and fairness in what happens got to be one of the messiest business one can be in: Family Law. I have gotten everything I have sought out, because we have approached each and every issue with fairness, so that I am getting what I need/should and don’t feel like I had to play “dirty” to do it. That was important for me in my case. I also have never felt like I’ve been strung along or had suggestions made about what I could/should “go for” because launching an aggressive/messy legal battle would make THEM more money (one thing we are all wary about with lawyers!) For this first time in over six years since my divorce, I have the representation I need and full confidence in my Attorney Zuba to represent me in a just, fair and classy manner, even when I am on the other side of the world. I have gotten so many wrongs righted and injustices set straight in court with the help of these attorneys. There is no price tag on the peace of mind that has brought me and my family. I simply cannot rate/recommend them highly enough.

Jim Zuba came into our case halfway through my sister's custody battle of my 10yr niece after our previous lawyer quit. We had our backs against the wall with a gal who was pro dad's and a narcissist father trying for full custody, feeding the gal tons of lies. His knowledge and experience completely turned the tables for us. He definently was pricey but worth every penny. We won our case and I know it was do to Jim Zuba. Eternally grateful for our decision to go with him and his tenacity to get our case won.
