James Zuba is a terrific attorney who took over my case after 13 months with another attorney with no progress. He quickly drew up a settlement agreement for my husband's attorney and assisted me in a hearing for termination of maintenance that had carried over from my old attorney, with no loss of my monthly benefit as a result. His secretary Mary and paralegal Lee were extremely helpful and went out of their way to see that things were done promptly. I found him to be extremely efficient, ethical and knowledgeable. I don't believe you could find a better attorney!

I had been waiting for a dissolution of marriage on a simple case with no children involved for 13 months and was no closer to a settlement than when I began. In fact I was being taken to court for termination of maintenance when I fired my old attorney and retained James Zuba. Almost immediately he prepared a settlement agreement to be sent to my husband's attorney and assisted me in my termination of maintenance hearing so that I did not lose that monthly income. His secretary, Mary and his paralegal Lee were very helpful and knowledgeable and went out of their way to see that things were expedited. I'm happy to say that my case was settled within 3 1/2 months! Since I live in another state, Attorney Zuba arranged for the dissolution trial to be done by telephone so that I did not have to make a very long trip! I'm very pleased with Attorney Zuba's assistance and feel you will not find a better Attorney in Rockford!

I chose Attorney Zuba because he stands above all the rest. He is very professional, his fees are far lower than others, he has a financial background/degree and is compassionate about his work. I explained to him what I needed, he listened! He then proceeded with my case in more detail than I ever thought possible. Custody cases for single fathers are challenging in the best of circumstances, and for a single father like me seeking sole custody it can seem nearly impossible to follow through. I sought out Attorney Zuba on the recommendation of a respected friend who had not only been a client of his, but was also very knowledgable of top lawyers in the area. I was very glad I did. Attorney Zuba was calm, understanding, and professional from the initial consultation to the rendering of the final verdict. He kept me informed throughout the process, always responded quickly to my calls or emails, and eased my nerves before entering court each time. Realistic expectations for each phase of the process were set for me, and they were always met or exceeded. During the early stages of the case Attorney Zuba showed he was knowledgable and confident in the courtroom, and was clearly respected by opposing counsel, guardian ad litem, and judge. In the later stages, when witnesses were called, his skill as a litigator was very clear and I was impressed with his ability to turn each testimony on both sides to the advantage of my case. He fought vigorously for me, and defended me fiercely when false allegations were made during testimony. In the end, I was rightfully awarded sole custody. I believe whole-heartedly that it is important to research your specific needs when choosing an attorney, but I cannot imagine one finding someone better in Winnebago County to represent them than Attorney James Zuba.

Was my lawyer for a divorce/custody battle. Was very quick with responses with both me and my ex's lawyer. Staff in his office was very quick as well and professional. He is very upfront whether you want to hear but knows the laws very well and knows what will hold up in court and what won't. He was exactly what you need during a custody and divorce as emotions need to stay out of the court room and helped keep things focused and pushing forward quickly. I would highly recommend Mr Zuba to anyone.

Attorney Zuba was very thorough through my divorce. I was given his cell phone number and was able to contact him outside of office hours for certain situations. I really felt like I had someone who was on my side and making sure that I was aware of all situations that were occurring regarding my divorce. I truly felt Attorney Zuba was on my side and had my best interests through all of his dealings.
