I wish someone had warned me about this guy. We wasted $750 bucks for him to "find out" something we already told him during our consultation. He was hired to work on a sentence modification for my boyfriend, which would include going downtown, talking to the prosecutor, and trying to work out an agreement (to start). So, after quoting us $500 to get us in the door, he said it would be $750 for "half a day's" work. Instead, he called around & eventually found who he needed to talk to at work release in order to find out what their policy is for transitioning from work release to house arrest. Which we ALREADY told him, had he bothered to stop talking & listen (and we had already expressed serious concerns about the program at that time, thus the need for counsel). When my boyfriend reminded him of what he said he'd do, he said he'd already spent two hours working on this and unless we paid more he wasn't going to do anything else - despite the fact that he never did what we agreed, and he never said anything about 2 hours of work being the limit. So, apparently his rate is $375/hr. We should have run when we stepped foot into that dirty office. He took complete advantage of our desperation.

Called and spoke to Joe in July and he helped talk me through the proper steps to follow before filing a lawsuit. He didn't charge me for the call and told me to call him if my efforts did not work and he would be willing to take my case.

Joe assisted me with a recent divorce. It went very smoothly, and Joe was very timely in his replies to emails, filings, etc. Joe also is assisting me with other matters in connection to a previous ex-spouse. So far, he has been very helpful in giving me honest, straightforward legal advice.

Joe Wlaterman has been my council on more than one case. I have always been impressed with his integrity. He is honest and in one instance advised me to take a different path (in regard to bankruptcy) that would not require representation. However, when I did require representation in a family law case he was knowledgeable , fair, and kind. He worked tirelessly on my case which was rather difficult and thanks to his skill and great effort he won the case for me. Extremely helpful and willing to explain anything I had a question about. Didn't make me feel pressured to do anything I didn't want to, since my divorce was fairly simple. Most importantly he didn't make a tough situation in my life worse or add any stress!

I had a debt collector problem. I contacted Mr. Walterman about the matter. He took care of everything was constantly in contact with me and explained the things I did not understand while dealing with this matter. I would recommend him to anyone who may be a victim of unfair debt collection practices

I called to set up an appointment for a free consultation and was told that it would cost $150.00 dollars for an appointment. This attorney's web page advertisement states consultation is free BUT the receptionist told me something is wrong with the website. She stated that the free consult is only for criminal cases. Was very disappointed and the receptionist acted like I was bothering her by calling. I called the receptionist back again to tell her that the website states FREE consult and that the advertisement has no specifics stated. She seemed annoyed by me calling back and said she would look into the matter. WOW!! Guess the attorney she works for doesn't need my business.
