Brent Brehm is not just an excellent attorney but a fine human being. I have been a fortunate beneficiary of his brilliance, comprehensiveness and candor, all of which he glued together with his integrity and compassion.
I reached out to him for guidance having to do with a fluid employment situation and an even more fluid health situation. Brent patiently and thoroughly explained to me and my spouse the options available to us, the attendant risks and possible unknowns. Having those facts and variables spelled out clearly replaced our anxiety with clarity. He did not over-promise or pressure us one way or another, and instead set into context some complex legalese.
His ability to glean highly consequential details and spell out the possible impact is one of his finest qualities. He identified a few points where my decision could have had suboptimal outcomes, and that intervention has directly affected my finances. Today, I feel relief rather than regret because of his insights.
Another quality of Brent Brehm that I admire is his candor. During one exchange, I remember asking him if I should have made a different choice 6 months ago. He said “But you didn’t, so let's start with the real present rather than the fictitious past.” His ability to focus on the future is a gift for his clients.
More than a year later, he jumped in once again to help me navigate a similar situation. At very short notice, he looked at complex documentation, offered actionable advice and warned about buried landmines. That guidance, once again, helped give me a stronger hand in financial negotiations.
Also, he doesn’t just advise on “what should I do?” He takes a holistic view of the situation so as to customize his advice and empower his clients. He treats them with respect, not as helpless bystanders.
Speaking from the heart, I can say that a disability eats away not just at your cognitive capabilities but your self-confidence as well. In those moments of despair, Brent offers a calm competence. In this day and age, that is a priceless gift.

I had a very good experience with Brent Brehm at Kantor & Kantor, who handled my ERISA case. CFS is not an easy illness to prove, and I had done my own very detailed initial appeals, which doubtless made it more challenging for Mr. Brehm. Nonetheless, he did a masterful job of representing me. Mr. Brehm was professional and personable as well. He and the very experienced attorneys at Kantor & Kantor make a formidable team that definitely keep the opposition on their toes. I would highly recommend Mr. Brehm and this firm for any ERISA case.

When you’re dealing with a former employer’s disability insurance carrier who had no problem approving both your STD and LTD claims - then immediately deny them because you just exhausted your state disability benefits and the burden of paying you is now on the insurance carrier - you know you’re dealing with a major crook and need the right legal counsel to fight for you. After doing my due diligence on several law firms, I retained Kantor & Kantor and boy, was I right in choosing them. I was assigned to two other lawyers and eventually, Brent Brehm. Everyone was patient and made sure all the right things happened. Two years later, my mediation ended up in a favorable settlement, thanks largely to impressive Brent. Jeffrey Bagnell was my attorney in a lawsuit against Sig Sauer gun manufacturer. I first met Jeff while I was still in an almost month-long hospital stay following my injury and he had driven 8+ hours to meet me and my family face to face. Not many people could comprehend the struggle I have endured due to my injury, or fathom how life-changing a huge, public trial can be. However, Jeff was always there for me and has since evolved from attorney to close friend.
Jeff was by my side every single step of the way through a trial with terrifying odds. Just him and I, standing tall, against 14 attorneys with bottomless pockets, working for a company with billions of dollars at their disposal. Whether it was by phone, text, email, court filings, or sitting in a courtroom, Jeff never left me feeling alone in this fight. I know I would not have been able to make it through this horrific ordeal if it wasn’t for him continued support and guidance.

Unfortunately, I was involved in a motor vehicle accident January of 2020. I had attempted to resolve the claim with the other carrier, however my ongoing injuries and prognosis made it clear I would need help resolving my claim. We had reached the statute and needed to file suit. Melissa did a great job of explaining the process, preparing me for my deposition and later the mediation with the other carrier and setting clear expectations regarding settlement. I felt that she truly listened to my concerns and was advocating on my behalf, not just trying to get a case off her desk or get me to accept an offer I didn't feel was fair. She paid attention to the information I provided and knew my case when discussing it with me or the mediator. She exceeded my expectations when it came to settlement and resolution of my liens with my PIP carrier and health insurance. The Premier Point HOA Board in Solomons Maryland was exceptionally well represented by Paul Urey during a years long issue with a community property owner. The issue at hand was an owner (one of six) that decided to sue the HOA and the Board members as well as the community builder, because they "didn't have enough water at their dock slip...." They sued for over 10 Million with their actual property value of less than $450,000!
Paul was provided by State Farm our insurer and helped us through each step of the process - from an unsuccessful attempt at negotiation through arbitration (the failure the stubbornness of the party suing...) and getting to what would have been a trial that we were more than ready for. He ably and professionally assessed the factors that arose as a part of the suit that would have made for an exceptional movie on how not to sue an HOA - nor who to have in a courtroom as a part of your representation. He worked through professional (ethical) errors on the part of the other attorney, to the final resolution that ensured the HOA and the Board were not financially saddled nor encumbered by future issues that might have affect our property values.
Paul helped and was involved with our case through every step and we felt that he was a genuine and critical key element in the effort. Paul worked with the other legal representatives for the other defendants and ensured they were fully informed of our Board actions (and we had thorough documentation for every issue) and how it affected their defendants representation. Towards the end, he also represented related factors to the Judge for the case and then to the new legal representation for the HOA member suing.... That communication helped to get us to an equitable ending.
Though this summary is short - it should clearly state that we had full confidence in Paul's representation and the outcome of the case and would change nothing.

I will start off with my personal experience of saying that I did not realize that long term disability companies were only in the business of rejecting claims with the hope that you ultimately give up.
To take the time to fight them you need a team of legal professionals that have a wealth of experience in dealing with their tactics and can help connect the dots.

Greg dell and his amazing associate vanessa came into my life in June 2019 when my LTD carrier unum decided abruptly to deny my disability claims and further disregarded my doctors objections in terminating coverage when I had substantial orthopedic and vascular issues. After my first denial which I did on my own, I asked friends of mine who were attorneys who should I use in a LTD case. Mr Jenkins took my insurance case on a contingency with a highly successful conclusion. My insurance company initially rejected my claim because they attributed the damage to wear and tear and not to any claim related cause. But they were no match for my Mr Jenkins and his highly talented staff. Mr Jenkins had his own experts make examinations and knew he had the law on his side and how to counter the insurance rejection. Ultimately we settled giving me more than enough to complete the repairs.

Called Jason a couple days before my court date. After a couple of other attorneys wouldn’t return my calls. He called me in for a consultation and I gladly hired him. What I liked about him is he didn’t make any empty promises that some of these guys will make. He did promise to work any angle he could use to get my charges lowered or dropped. I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome facing a minimum 120 days in jail and a 6 year license suspension. This would have ruined me financially. I ended up with a plea down to 48 hours and charged with a first offense charge. Honestly think I might’ve got out of it all together if I asked him to go further with it but it wasn’t a risk I was willing to take with that great of an offer. I also want to say that under the circumstances I thought they were going to fry me if they could. He was worth double the money I paid him. In fact I have paid twice as much with not near the results. I hope I never need an attorneys services again but if I do there’s no question who that will be. Hi staff was great as well.

I certainly would and have recommended Mr Hawkins services. I recently got a dui in the state of SC. I had seen Mr Hawkins on the local news about a large case he had and decided to give him a call. It was after hours so I left a message. I was promptly back the next morning. He told me that although he didn't have a lot of experience at the time and DUI cases he would certainly help me out by taking the case. After going over everything that happened with him in his office he asked me to give him some time to contact the solicitor and subpoena some information. I highly recommend Ramos and James Law Firm. I first contacted them after snowmageddon 2021 when I slipped on the ice and broke my wrist at a hotel. Many of the attorneys I contacted, did not handle slip and falls. Ramos and James took my case and sent me a contract to sign through my email.
