After meeting with several other attorneys to pursue adoption of my granddaughter, I met with Jamie Hester. Right away, I felt very comfortable and knew she was the right attorney for me. She is an exceptional person in the field of family law as she seems to really care about you and your family as individuals and not just a “case”. Jamie wanted to meet my granddaughter and they both felt very much at ease with each other. I wanted this adoption done quickly and Jamie worked diligently to get it done within my time frame. The office staff are all very helpful, friendly, and professional and I felt her fees were very reasonable. I’ve dealt with other attorneys in the past and this was, by far, the most pleasant experience I’ve ever had. It became necessary for me to handle some rental property for my parents and I had no idea what my responsibility as a landlord was. I hired Matt Godwin around September of 2020 for about 11 citations that were 10 years old. I had acquired these tickets when I was young and naïve and have had my license suspended SINCE then. I finally was able to save up enough money to hire Mr. Godwin and I choose this firm because I knew someone that used the law firm back in 2010-2011 when I lived there. He was very reasonable with pricing and even let me break my payment up into two. He immediately got to working on my case for me and the case was settled and ALL cases DISMISSED after about 2 months. The only reason why they even took THAT long was because the Trooper had the court date rescheduled. Mr Godwin I feel, really fought for me. I an in recovery and am coming up on 2 year sober. I got pregnant at 8 months sober and was about 8 1/2 months pregnant when I finally hired Mr. Godwin. He was very sympathetic to my situation and understood that I had come a long way from where I was when I got those tickets and that DWI to the person that I am today when he spoke to me. I also explained that I now live in Florida at a maternity home and that I just really need to get this taken care of so that I can acquire a car so I can have a safe way for me to get to work and to be able to take my son anywhere that he needs to go. This license was very important to me and something that I had been trying to work on getting for the last 10 years. Mr. Godwin understood all of that and he was willing to fight for me, and fight for me he did. Because of Mr. Godwin's understanding an compassion he was able to successfully help me reach the goal of getting my license back. I am enterically grateful for him and plan on using him to expunge my record as well. Mr. Godwin is one of the most respectful, kind, down to earth lawyers there is out there. I was arrested for DUI March of 2018. During that time I acted foolishly verbally assaulted the arresting officer. I behaved carelessly and my case prognosis was dire to say the least. I was looking at my first DUI with what the prosecutor called an open and shut case with imminent conviction. There were some things that happened between the officer and I that I would say caused me to be super aggressive with the officer. Mr. Godwin told me to let him handle this....And handle it he did. I was in court for the 6th time 4 hour drive there and back. This time I was waiting for my turn to be judged. Mr. Godwin told me he was going to try and get the case pushed back to a later date. The arresting officer was there ready to testify. My stomach was in knots. It was getting close to lunch and walked up to me and told me that we would be on after lunch. Then I noticed He was going into another room with the arresting officer. It was clear he was working his magic. He walked up to the Prosecutor leaned in and spoke to him. Iam not sure what he said but He immediately walked towards me and motioned for me to go outside the court room. He extended his hand and told me the case was dismissed. I grabbed him and hugged him tightly. I felt a huge burden lifted from me. The best decision I made was hiring Mr. Godwin. He is patient and waits until things are lined up in his favor, He kept postponing until he had the advantage and when it lined up right he pounced. I believe he is unbeatable. of all the times I went to court he just kept successfully defending his clients. He is amazing, I owe him . He saved my career. God Bless You Mr. Godwin.

I could not be more pleased with my experience in hiring Matt Godwin as my attorney. I was charged with DWI (.09) and believed I was looking at a surefire conviction. I was dreading giving up my license, paying a lot of money, and dealing with other DWI pitfalls. BUT, along the way, I was referred to Matt. I purchased a car from a Northern VA dealer. During discussions w/the sales personnel two issues came up that they said would result in price adjustments. When presented w/the sales document which was filled out completely by the dealer's accountant I thought the final amount reflected what the dealer's sales personnel had agreed. I paid the bottom line amount requested by the dealer.
Three weeks later I received a telcon from the dealer's accountant stating that they had made a mistake and wanted more money to compensate for their mistake. I said no, and then wrote an email stating what I saw, as my position including compensation that I believed their sales personnel had agree as compensation. The dealers response was to demand payment. I responded w/another email.
After 3 months of this type of exchanges I called a friend and asked for a recommendation of an attorney in the Winston Salem area and was given Jeremy Foltz's name who I then contacted.
Then two days later I received a letter from the Lawyer representing the car dealer. I forwarded the letter to Jeremy who in a lawyer to lawyer exchange was able to settle on, what I considered to be, a fair and equatable solution.
This solution would not have occurred without the intervention of Jeremy.
Would I hire him again--Absolutely!

I was convicted of assault and battery and I didn’t know which law firm to go with. I found Josue Casanova after I did a google search of criminal lawyers in my area. After speaking with him, I decided to hire him as my lawyer and it was the best decision I could have made. He met with me about 5 times in the span of two months for a significant amount of time and spent a lot of time on my case outside of our appointments. He was attentive, showed that he genuinely cared, and was very personable. He was able to settle outside of court on my behalf and get me what I wanted out of the case. He also didn’t try to get a ridiculous amount of money out of me like so many lawyers try to. Something really neat was that the head of the firm would occasionally join us during our appointments, which was awesome. I 100% recommend Josue Casanova. He is an amazing lawyer and person.

Nicole was instrumental in securing placement for my severely dyslexic son. She is an amazing attorney who fought tirelessly to get my son's academic needs met. She is a compassionate attorney who is an expert in Special Ed law. Her availability when it came to communicating with my husband and I was top notch. I cannot say enough good things about Nicole and the work she did for my family. She helped my son through one of the most difficult times in his life and in our family's life. She is knowledgeable, insightful, calm and responsive. She was present whenever we needed her. She advised us, argued with the other side when necessary, and gave us our options in a clear, understandable manner. She advocated for our son at IEP meetings and throughout the administrative process. She also helped us find resources beyond the school system, to ensure he was getting everything he needed. It was clear she cared about him as a person and felt for him and his struggles. I can't recommend her enough. If you are looking for someone to advocate for your child's educational rights and ensure your child is getting the educational services and support that he/she is entitled to under the law, I can't think of anyone better. II came across this attorney several years ago; from the minute I expose him my case, I was able to feel a sense of being in excellent hands to look after your interests. He heads a small law office, which I find it to be of great benefit, as you get to talk and meet directly with him, EVERY TIME, and NOT with a secretary or a paralegal! He is the very first attorney who made me feel he cared about me, and NOT as to how much he would be able to earn from me! After resolving my case, I learned a little bit about him, among which, he is of the very few attorneys that have passed the BAR Exam on the first testing! Most attorneys accept that it has taken them more than one testing to pass the BAR Exam. 1) Out of the dozen or so I called, he was the ONLY one who spent time listening and breaking down the scenario before even discussing a fee. He actually cared. He wanted to fight this unjust scenario.
2) My case was civil, but he approached it like it was criminal, and knew all the appropriate avenues to take.
3) He put on a clinic. I left happy and won.
4) He answered all my texts and calls in appropriate time. I'm sure I wasn't the easiest client, but he never once made me feel bad for my concern over my case.
5) I hope to never have to hire him again but if I had to, I would without question. 100%

This was the first time in my life I have ever found myself on the wrong side of the law. Throughout this process he was knowledgeable and aided me in navigating my way through the darkest period of my life. My case was complicated, muddled in falsities and obfuscation. Chris was able to untangle it all and put forth a comprehensive approach that anticipated everything. At the time I did not fully appreciate the amount of time, effort and patience he had. I also learned after being incarcerated how broken the legal/corrections systems in Orange County truly are. I hesitate to elaborate more, suffice it to say he exceeded expectations and could have quit on me several times throughout the process. Do you want someone who shoots straight (don’t BS this guy EVER, he is one of the most intelligent people I know). Also, remember you’re (if incarcerated in Orange), you’re at 33rd, he’s in Winter Park. He’s a warrior. Call him. If you’re being flooded with a flurry of mail from lawyers it’s difficult to know what to do. Call him.

My wife and I were separated and had discussed divorce. We had both agreed that we did not want our divorce to turn "ugly" and wanted to remain amicable. We sat down with Kristin and discussed our options for moving forward. Kristin did a great job explaining all of our options and answering our questions. We decided to move forward with mediation, and had Kristin mediate our divorce. Although some stuff was still difficult to work through, Kristin was nothing but neutral, fair and professional. She assisted us in generating options when we felt stuck, and my wife and I were able to come to an agreeable settlement. Our Son had two Title IX Complaints filed against him with the University of Maryland from another Student. As a Family we disagreed with the Complaint. We hired Ron and he assisted our family and represented us in the proceedings against him by the UMD Conduct Offices. The Charges filed were of a serious nature and could have lead to an expulsion from the College and would negatively effect his academic and professional career for his future. Ron planned and prepared a defense for us, prepared and filed several documents, and represented our Son in each of the investigations and hearings. His knowledge and additional interpretation of the Student Code of Conduct assisted us in having all of the charges dropped and it was determined there were no violations. We had felt our Son was treated unfairly in the investigation. Ron's diligence and pursuit of this matter along with his interpretation of the Student Conduct Rules resulted in a favorable outcome on our behalf. Dan was still dealing with my first DUI, when I had to hire him for my second. The situation spanned two states and timing was of the essence. Dan was strategic in his approach and knew his way very well in the courtroom and with the right people. As a result, I walked away with a deal that could have been beat only by not having a dui (or two) in the first place. I hope that I never have to hire him for myself again. But I'd recommend him to any friend.
