Just have to share this information: From 1978 till 2021 I was a Loyal Member with Pre-Paid Legal, now called Legal Shield Ada Ok. They were a former Awesome Company, until The Riling Law Firm took over they're Defense litigation. Through the late 70's, 80's, & 90's the Atnys. representing Pre-Paid fought really hard for they're clients, usually resulting in a 90% win factor with most Traffic Violations. {{When the Riling Firm took over everything changed Horribly}} They would never go to Trial, & fight for the Clients, & always promoted throwing in the towel, With a No Contest, & would strongly suggest pleading Guilty... Run like Hell from this Firm!!! Unless your for toughing in the towel...

I got linked up with Greg Gietzen at this law firm through Legal Shield. I believe this was my first time seeking legal advice, and as I was asking the same question in 3 diff states, I spoke to 3 diff attorneys. Greg was, far and away, the best of the 3. He made an effort to understand the question on our first conversation, got back to me in a timely manner, and when I asked for case law, i.e. something in writing proving his point, he provided me a great case that was basically a perfect fit. Based on my experience working for a litigation vendor as a younger man, and the fact that Greg has only had his law degree for 3 years, I expect he'll continue to hone his skills and improve at his craft.

Mike Riling is HANDS down the best attorney in Lawrence, KS. Thankfully I haven't had to use his service in quite a while, but I wouldn't want anyone else representing me besides him. Down to earth guy. He'll tell you right or wrong how to fix it then, says what will happen & it's always been a better outcome than that. HIRE THIS MAN!!!!

I was assigned this law firm through legalshield, and my entire experience from the beginning has been extremely horrible. The first time I had an incident where my car was stolen, recovered and then sold by the tow truck company. The fake representation that I received from Mack Curry was like he was representing the tow truck company instead of me. My second contact and I was assigned this same poor excuse for an attorney and he advised me not to file any more answers to an already pending legal matter that I had been representing myself and doing quite well. I asked would he request an continuance to get up to speed on the case and he told me to asked for it myself. Well the court did not give me the continuance because Mack never entered an appearance, and the judge ruled against me, now my case has to be appealed and I still have not heard from Mack. I would not recommend LegalShield and or this law firm to anyone. I think it is all a scam and this law firm is just collecting the average Joe's monthly payments and not offering any real legal representation. Why do I need to pay $24.95 just to have a letter written or to be told bad advice.

I used this law firm through Legal Shield to write a demand letter to my property management company. They were so quick to get the letter written and sent out. They answered my phone calls and I never had to leave messages. They have been absolutely amazing to work with and I look forward to having them represent my case in court.

Had trouble with a company to replace faulty system. Called firm and they sent a letter to company to comply with contract. Company was prompt after letter to replace system. Everything is OK now. Thanks.

I am a military veteran I have paid for Legal Shield membership for over 10 years, the one time that I needed my services for a tax suit the attorneys I was forced to use, Riling Burkhead and Nitcher in Kansas, refused to send my Missouri case to Dubail Judge in MO, where I used to reside which is where trial would also take place, not Kansas. As a veteran I also called in to have them work another case which was a veteran matter, and for a second time I was given the lowest rate lawyer service I could imagine. When the attorney called me on that matter he stated he couldn't even remember where he read part of the law he was quoting to me as legal advice. This was the managing partner of that firm. How can anyone expect the legal advice they get as sound advice when the attorney can't remember where he read something he's advising you on? Now further into my case, when I filed a complaint with legal shield corporate they sided with the law firm, further to that, when I stated if they would not review the actions they took not following Legal Shield Procedure for referral on out of state cases, I would get my money back that I payed in. I filed a my complaint because the advice that the Kansas Firm gave me, was incorrect and misleading, they wanted the case off their book to just get paid is how it seemed to me. Because I had to learn of the procedure form the opposing counsel and judge, not the attorneys who were supposed to be advising me. If they would have sent me to the lawyers I had requested and should have been sent to, the advice and counsel I would have received would have been better. But instead, Legal Shield Cancelled my membership stating "Company Decision", no one called me, emailed me, not to mention this was directly after the Lawyer Mike Riling, said he would call me back on Thursday with an update to the law he couldn't remember that he had just read, when in reality they worked with Legal Shield on Wednesday to cancel my membership. So I had 300 hours of trial defense, gone, no refund, I have two legal matters that I now have to hire other attorneys for all because I put my trust in Legal Shield to be there when I needed it. But when I threatened to use my membership which I was actively trying to save for issues like this, they cancel it because of what? Because I threatened to give you legal matters, especially a Veteran issue?! Yet cancel a member after over a decade of paying for your services and then be told, sucks to be YOU! That is my experience with Legal Shield and Riling Burkhead and Nitcher in Kansas, Legal Shield refuses to tell me the reason for cancellation, refuses to refund me, refuses to respond, and refuses to respond to the BBB. That is the company I paid money to for over a decade. I strongly urge anyone to consider any other service or firms before putting your faith in this company that they will be there when you need them.

As each day comes and goes, this world becomes more evil and unjust to those who wish to live a peaceful and just life. For my wife and I, this firm assisted us in a time of need, with positive action's to those who would defame and commit fraud on our personal reputation and take from us, something that did not belong to them. For their agressive response to our needs, I can only recommend that this firm is the best of the best and I recommend them for all your legal protection.

Bobbie did a great job helping us with sorting out legal issues. She went above what she needed to so we could actually understand our options. We appreciate their firm and their care for their clients. I have also had the chance to work with Mr. Currie. He too has been helpful on multiple issues on completely different issues. I am thankful to their team in downtown Lawrence. They are always accessible and never act frustrated or annoyed with my multiple questions.

My 1st 2 experiences have been very positive and the attorney wrote 2 letters on my behalf and I hope to get a resolve from the respondents in the near future. My employer provided this legal shield product that allowed me to take advantage of this service.
