I cannot say enough positive things about Mr. Kincaid. Before meeting me or signing him as my representation, he dedicated well over an hour of his time on the phone with me. After several calls with lawyers who “bulldozed” & wouldn’t listen, it meant the world to me that Mr. Kincaid not only wanted to hear everything I had to say, but empathized genuinely with my situation. He understood that I was confused, scared & didn’t know how to navigate this predicament. He was honest, knowledgeable and truly kind. Mr. Kincaid is clearly not just out for the money like some. A few days after our initial phone call, he emailed me to let me know he’d just taken a big case that would eat up most of his time & didn’t want to risk not giving my case the due diligence I deserved but offered to help guide me to the right person for my case. Unfortunately I've had the displeasure of having much more experience in the court room than the average "Joe". I've worked with over a dozen attorneys and spent over $100k in legal fees alone. I as much as anyone can see the value that a skilled attorney can bring to the table. I have also seen first hand the amount of damage and destruction choosing the wrong one can cause. When I initially reached out to Kincaid law I was offered a over the phone consultation for a very reasonable fee. I know there are plenty of attorneys offering "free consultations" but I also know that many of them will leave you with years worth of regrets! When initially talking to Matthew Kincaid I explained to him the ins and the outs of my situation. I explained to him the good, bad and the ugly. Nothing was off topic and he was very non judgmental. He was sympathetic to my situation, understanding of my mistakes and listened to my goals and objectives. He gave me vital insight on some of his concerns and possible obstacles that I would run into. He gave me valuable advice and broke down some of the strategies he would use. At the end of the conversation I felt like I really had someone in my corner. It was obvious he knew his way around the law and was able to come up with creative tactics to shine a positive light on my short comings. With all that said I think the part that stood out most was the fact that he actually turned my case down! He explained the importance of having a balanced workload in order to give his clients the representation they deserve. He wasn't just trying to stack as many cases as possible to make a buck. I can say that unlike the other legal "hustlers" out there, Matthew offered me his professional advice/opinion with no expectations of a big payout or reward. He even went as far as to give me a handful of other attorneys that he suggested I reach out to. He checked back with me after the fact and even answered questions weeks after our initial consultation. If he is offering this level of service to his non clients, I can only imagine how well he is treating his paid clients. When choosing a lawyer my advice is as follows. Meet with several attorneys and explain your case and expectations. Don't hesitate to ask questions and if need be ask them to explain their answers Look for advice, suggestions, strategies and solutions. Don't just look for a "yes man" or some bargain rate retainer. A cheap attorney who doesn't know what he's doing will cost you more than a good attorney who does. Only after you've met with the other's would I suggest meeting with Matthew Kincaid. Let him know what the rest had to say and trust him to guide you in the right direction, whether that be with him, someone else or no one at all!
