Absolutely horrible great way to waste your money and good luck getting them to return a phone call however she will go ahead and quit mid way through a case

If I could give ten stars I would. Melissa is extremely professional and always does what is in the best interest of her clients and their children. My case was an extremely stressful situation and Melissa never made me feel anything but at ease with what we were doing to ensure a good outcome. I would recommend her to anyone who have a family law issue!

Melissa and the rest of her staff have been very helpful with trying to help me with my case. Their empathetic nature has made it a bettter experience. Melissa Kelly Schroeder fed me a bunch of lies that she was throwing water on the fire but all she did was take my money and go to court and agreed with the other side and gave my baby away. She is a 0 in my book and a thief at that. If you like to give money away then hire her but if not find someone else. She is Not a good person as she was hired to do a job and totally defeated the purpose of me hiring her. I could have saved a lot of money by going to court myself and doing nothing like she did.

I phone interviewed 3 attorneys and Melissa clearly stood out. She actually met me on a weekend to understand my situation! Her calm demeanor, ethical nature, excellent ear and ability to take a very complex problem and simplify it made it much easier to understand what path makes most sense, resulting in a calmer state. She responds with the appropriate levels to a need for the situation. That trust she built never waivers, always working in your and the kiddos best interest of the situation. Because of all the complexities of child custody and divorce, following her advice and direction has resulted in best situational outcomes but you need to let her lead the situation as she quite frankly, does know best. Costs have always been clearly detailed. Although not cheap, you get what you pay for and with dividends. Need to consider this is an investment in your and the kids future not just a transaction for the moment to get divorced, keep that in mind. Don't overthink this part, give her a chance, you won't regret it.

Should I need the assistance of an attorney in the future, I will not hesitate to use Melissa again. Her services are worth every penny, nickel, dime and quarter! She is prompt in her responses, and thorough in the entire process.

Melissa Schroeder is unique of sorts - A small law firm that she owns, and two magnificent paralegals. Melissa did more for me in 3 Motion filings than the last 2 counsels I had on my family case and she delivered results. Anyone knows that a Small Business is typically 5 employees or less and given she is about an office of 3 employees that are working diligently (from my own experience) with pleadings, conference calls, court hearings, depositions, and who knows what else I'd say for the amount of people they are doing a great job. A mention was made of billing issues - Well, the saying is true - "You pay for what you get." As for office door being locked - Did one ever think to call and schedule a time to meet with counsel or the paralegals? I've been to Melissa's office twice but I always was thoughtful in setting up a date/time ahead of time by sending a simple email. You will find many lawyers in Johnson County but you will only find a few that actually care about the best interests of your children and you the client. Melissa is someone I am proud to have had involved in my case and consider her to be a great person.

Very disappointed with her representation. Basically got billed for many hours with nothing to show for it. Many times tried to drop off paperwork and the office was closed and locked in the middle of the day. To this day, the paperwork I dropped off I never received back after I found new representation. Looking through my billing statement was actually funny because hours were charged for services I never received. Highly suggest looking a different direction with your hard earned money. I'm out thousands of dollars with literally nothing to show for it.
