Not only is she extremely bias, she makes bad decisions and refuses to look at all the evidence. She rips families apart and put children in danger by place them with abusive and manipulative people. She talks out of both sides of her mouth. She claims to have the best interest of the children in mind but her actions are the opposite of what she states. Seems like she is just out to make money.

Kind of a loose cannon, crackpot attorney. Maybe he should, I don't know, pick up the telephone next time and ask the Judge or even the District Attorney whether he can release confidential information to the public. This attorney is in way over his head and I would not at all be surprised to see his name pop up on the Georgia Bar Association's website under "Ineligible to Practice Law" in a few years. Caveat emptor.

I found Ms. Sandlin to be overly aggressive with poor ability to see the big picture. I did not find her to be a thoughtful, measured, wise person. In one instance she grossly misinterpreted facts - I do not know whether intentionally or not - and could not see another perspective on events. I found dealing with her very unpleasant.

I am thrilled to finally share my experience with everyone because I feel that attorney’s like Deborah Sandlin and her law firm are unsung heroes. I had the privilege of working with Deborah Sandlin during my high conflict custody battle. She was professional, knowledgeable, compassionate, and zealously defended me in court. I will never forget how she constantly kept me updated which played a major role in keeping my anxiety to a minimum and was always honest with me about all aspects of my case, for good and bad. To the Sandlin Family Law Group- you should be proud for taking a case that seemed unwinnable and allowing me to not only prevail at the end but to have my child back into my life.

I hired Tim Ballard for a child custody case during a sensitive period following the loss of our daughter to cancer. While Tim seemed personable, the service and value I received were unsatisfactory. My experience with Mr. Ballard was costly and inefficient compared to previous attorneys. Over $8000 and nearly a year later, the only significant progress was one hour of mediation. The costs seemed excessive: $2000 for mediation prep and almost $100 for a brief email. Additionally, I questioned the 5.5 hours billed (Tim does his own billing and invoicing. One month I received several months billing all of a sudden) for mediation prep half billed on a day when Tim was handling another case. Several months I’m still waiting on discovery questions, child support worksheet, and some bills of my ex spouse to be paid. All of which are “in the works” Communication issues were persistent. I often had to rebrief him on basic case details, yet was billed for these updates. Despite being promised legal aid assistance, this help materialized late, failing to restore my confidence in the firm. The process was drawn out, with mediation dates constantly delayed from May to July to November. I felt my case wasn't advocated for effectively, particularly in dealings with the opposing attorney. Now in the process of switching lawyers, I'm disheartened by the substantial financial and time investment with minimal progress. I'm open to sharing more details with those considering this firm. A major concern was the inefficient communication costing over half the total fees. I preferred meetings over emails for efficiency, but this approach wasn't adopted. There were also missed opportunities, like enrolling my daughter in a new school, and periods where Tim was difficult to contact, though active on social media liking the opposing attorneys instagram posts. In summary, I expected more empathy and proactivity in handling my case. This experience felt like a financial and emotional drain during an already difficult time.

This firm contracted me to work as an expert witness. Both sides signed the contract, I worked for about a month, providing only about 5 hours of service reading court documents, having conversations with several S&N attorneys about the positions and strategy for the particular IP case I was hired for. They reported to be satisfied with my work. I submitted my invoice but it was never paid. They told me the case had been transferred to a different law firm. I responded that my contract was with them, and the work was performed with them. They agreed, said they would process my payment. They have not paid and ceased communications with me. I have all this documented with contracts and emails. The Texas Bar has provided no help, saying it is not in their jurisdiction. I live in San Diego, so it's not cost effective for me to pursue via small claims court, the invoice being only about $1,500. This firm should be avoided since they have proven to be unethical.

My review and stars only refer to Raykin, Yelena. This lawyer is unprofessional and always in a rush. She is not available to do any closings after 2 pm because she said she will get stuck in traffic on her way home. People from the bank agreed to come at 3 pm and she rudely denied my request. She sent a very rude email telling me that if I am late for the closing she will charge a few hundred dollars extra. The closing only took 30 minutes! Stay away from her, she is NOT flexible and willing to work with her clients! Nasty person... I don't even know why we need a lawyer because she was completely useless.

I needed to consult with an attorney on the usual practices regarding Workers Comp. due to having a newer business and finding myself in an unusual circumstance as an employer. Through seeking advice with Ms. Samet I became more acquainted with the technical terms in this area and the procedures. Ms. Samet gave several pointers to help guide me and reviewed several processes of what to expect. She expressed a great deal of enthusiasm and concern towards reviewing my matters and now feel more informed as an employer and have a peace of mind. I am thankful she took the time to address all my questions, gave me her full attention with a sense of care and had a supportive staff that seemed very driven and task oriented (I left my cell at their office and they immediately contacted me). From the time I arrived by being warmly greeted by a little dog that happened to be at the office that helped sooth my anxiety, to the warm, welcoming assistance and point of meeting Dee Dee who was very knowledgeable... My full experience at this law office through my consultation was definitely valuable. I was able to discuss many areas of workers comp that I was not familiar with and found Mrs. Samet to be very resourceful. This attorney used to represent employers in the past, however she now represents employees. This attorney has a vast amount of knowlege and wisdom through her long years of practice and experience.

Ed is a exceptional lawyer in the downriver area. His communication skills are second to none. He will not B.S you about your case and if he can't pursue a outcome desired he will be honest. That goes a long way with lawyers. I was very pleased with the way he handled my case start to finish. I would highly recommend him to others with a wide array of legal issues. Mr. Avery represented me in a very tough case that the franchise alleged I was out of compliance and they threatened to take my franchise away. This was a very atypical case since I'm in another state and the corporation is in Connecticut. Mr. Avery represented me against the national chain and their large legal team. I can honestly say that he is one of the most professional, honest and caring attorneys that I've every been around. He consulted me every step of the way and exercised professionalism and knowledge in dealing with the arduous proceedings. This case lasted over a year and I can clearly say that my franchise would have been taken from me without his help.

First and foremost, Mr. Wasieleski was an absolute pleasure to deal with and I could not be more thankful for the help that he gave me. I was involved in an automobile accident in late 2015 in which I was t-boned at an intersection by someone who ran their red light. As a result of my accident I was experiencing sever pain in my body almost immediately. I was referred to Mr. Wasieleski by a friend who had gone through him for their auto accident and they were extremely pleased with how he handled their case. He immediately contacted a witness at the scene in regards to my case and was able to the prove that I was not at fault for the accident by securing the witness's statement. Thanks to Mr. Wasieleski, I received the treatment that I needed and he was able to settle my total loss vehicle for more than I believed it was even worth!! Not to mention, he got me a great settlement for my personal injury claim as well. All of this was done by him and his office and they were diligent in their work and response. I highly recommend him and will happily refer all my friends and family in any situation where serious personal injury has occurred. He is my go to attorney for life.

Barry Mack likes to talk about himself and how he was a Commissioner at the Court. It appears he likes to talk about how amazing he is however, this is not the case. He drags his feet with your case and runs up your bill. So that retainer you pay of $5,000.00 is eaten up real quick. He is not aggressive with the court and fighting for you.He will even tell your judge, that he wore the same robe many years ago. Very weird. His paralegal staff is non helpful. He let my ex wife run the show who is not an attorney. Don't hire this guy because you will get nowhere and he will drain your bank account and credit cards dry.

What a Lawsuit / Dispute Lawyer Can Do for You

A lawsuit or dispute lawyer, often referred to as a litigation lawyer, specializes in handling legal conflicts between individuals, businesses, or organizations. These lawyers represent clients in civil lawsuits, helping to resolve disputes through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation in court. They can assist with a wide range of disputes, including contract disagreements, property disputes, business conflicts, personal injury claims, and more.

If you are involved in a legal conflict and need representation, a dispute lawyer can guide you through the litigation process - from filing or defending against a lawsuit to negotiating settlements or representing you at trial.

When Should I Hire a Lawsuit / Dispute Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a lawsuit or dispute lawyer when you're involved in a legal disagreement that cannot be resolved informally and may require legal action. Common reasons to hire a lawyer include:

  • Breach of contract: If someone has failed to fulfill the terms of a contract, a lawyer can help you file a lawsuit to seek damages or enforce the agreement.
  • Business disputes: Whether it's a partnership disagreement, shareholder conflict, or a dispute with a supplier or customer, a lawyer can help resolve business-related issues.
  • Property disputes: If you're involved in a dispute over property ownership, boundary issues, or landlord-tenant conflicts, a lawyer can assist in resolving the matter.
  • Personal injury claims: If you were injured due to someone else's negligence and are seeking compensation, a lawyer can represent you in a personal injury lawsuit.
  • Debt collection or defense: If you're being sued for unpaid debts or need to collect a debt owed to you, a lawyer can represent you in court or negotiate settlements.
  • Employment disputes: If you're involved in an employment-related dispute, such as wrongful termination or discrimination, a lawyer can help you file a claim and represent you in court.
  • Defending against a lawsuit: If you've been sued, a lawyer can defend you against the claims, challenge the evidence, and negotiate a settlement or represent you at trial.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process can help ensure that your case is properly managed and that your rights are protected throughout the dispute resolution process.

What Does a Lawsuit / Dispute Lawyer Do?

A lawsuit or dispute lawyer provides a wide range of services to help clients navigate legal conflicts and seek resolution. Their tasks typically include:

  • Evaluating your case: Reviewing the facts and evidence to determine the strength of your case or defense and advising you on the best course of action.
  • Filing lawsuits or responding to lawsuits: If you're the plaintiff, the lawyer will file a lawsuit on your behalf. If you're the defendant, they will respond to the lawsuit and build a defense strategy.
  • Gathering evidence: Collecting and reviewing evidence such as contracts, emails, financial records, and witness statements to support your case.
  • Handling negotiations: Negotiating with the opposing party to reach a settlement before the case goes to trial, which can save time and money.
  • Representing you in court: Presenting your case in court if a settlement cannot be reached, including presenting evidence, questioning witnesses, and making legal arguments on your behalf.
  • Exploring alternative dispute resolution (ADR): Suggesting mediation or arbitration as alternatives to a trial, which can be faster and less expensive.
  • Drafting legal documents: Preparing and filing necessary legal documents such as complaints, motions, and responses, as well as drafting settlement agreements if a resolution is reached.

How Are Lawsuit / Dispute Lawyers Paid?

The fee structure for lawsuit or dispute lawyers varies depending on the complexity of the case, the type of dispute, and the lawyer's experience. Common payment methods include:

  • Hourly rate: Many lawsuit lawyers charge by the hour, especially for cases that require extensive preparation, research, and trial work. Hourly rates typically range from $150 to $500 or more, depending on the lawyer’s experience and location.
  • Contingency fee: In certain cases, such as personal injury or breach of contract claims, a lawyer may work on a contingency fee basis. This means they only get paid if they win the case, usually taking a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of the settlement or damages awarded.
  • Flat fee: For specific services, such as filing a simple lawsuit or representing you in mediation, some lawyers may charge a flat fee.
  • Retainer: In complex cases or long-term litigation, a lawyer may ask for a retainer, which is an upfront payment to secure their services. The lawyer will then bill against the retainer as they work on the case.

Discuss the fee structure with your lawyer during the initial consultation to understand how fees will be handled throughout the case.

How Much Does a Lawsuit / Dispute Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawsuit or dispute lawyer depends on the complexity of the case, the lawyer's experience, and the fee structure they use. General cost estimates include:

  • Hourly rates: Lawyers may charge between $150 and $500 per hour, with higher rates for more experienced attorneys or cases requiring extensive trial preparation.
  • Contingency fees: If your lawyer works on a contingency basis, expect them to take 25% to 40% of any settlement or court award. For example, if you win $100,000 and the contingency fee is 33%, the lawyer would receive $33,000.
  • Flat fees: For less complex disputes or tasks, such as drafting a settlement agreement or representing you in mediation, flat fees may range from $1,000 to $5,000, depending on the scope of work.
  • Retainers: Some lawyers require an upfront retainer fee, which can range from $5,000 to $20,000 or more, depending on the case complexity and expected litigation length.

Make sure to ask for a detailed breakdown of fees during your consultation so you know what to expect.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawsuit / Dispute Lawyer

To ensure you're hiring a reputable lawyer, take the following steps:

  • Check their bar status: Confirm with your state bar association that the lawyer is licensed and has no disciplinary actions.
  • Look for relevant experience: Review their website or professional profile to ensure they specialize in litigation or dispute resolution.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Look for feedback on platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting, bring the following:

  • Contracts or agreements: Copies of any signed contracts or relevant agreements.
  • Emails and communications: Any written communication between you and the other party.
  • Evidence of the dispute: Receipts, financial records, photos, or witness statements related to the conflict.
  • Timeline of events: A clear chronology of the dispute, including key dates and interactions.
