I recently needed the services of a law firm. I chose Berman & Simmons initially as a result of my interview with Dan Kagan. I definitely made the correct choice. They were spot on with all their observations and suggestions. From my standpoint, they took care of all the headaches and questions. Their fee was reasonable. They did everything they promised and more. They kept me informed. I am happy with my choice and would recommend them to anyone seeking legal help.

After suffering a personal injury requiring surgery, physical therapy and realizing that I would have lifelong complications as a result of the injury , I had a lot of questions and needed some answers. From the initial phone call from Diane through the end result I received nothing but respect, kindness and prompt responses to my many questions from Laura. I chose Dov and his team to represent me and I expected that I would get professional representation but what I wasn’t expecting was the empathy I received from Dov when I experienced the unexpected death of a loved one during a pivotal point in my case; Dov expressed not only sympathy but asked me questions to make sure I was emotionally ok and gave me the option to put things on hold until I was ready to proceed although that would mean changing up his work load. I honestly cannot express enough how much I appreciate not only the professionalism of Attorney Saks and both Laura and Diane but the realization of the fact that they are truly just ordinary people working hard for their peers to pick up the pieces to try to become whole once again. I would highly recommend Attorney Saks and his team if you need representation.

For better or worse, I know a ton of lawyers and have seen a ton of their work product. Berman and Simmons, and Dan Kagan and Steve Sillin (now retired ) in particular, are by far the best litigators I’ve worked with. I recently referred a friend to them for a tragic wrongful death matter which turned out to be exceedingly complex. They absolutely out-litigated a big NYC firm retained by the defendant’s carrier, including by successfully removing a reach and apply action to Maine state court from a jurisdiction with substantive law that favored the insurer. I’m fairly certain that most other firms in Maine would have simply lost the case. Instead, Dan and his firm outmaneuvered the carrier’s big law lawyers and secured a very significant settlement from the defendant and his carrier for the benefit of the victim’s minor children. These guys are excellent lawyers. Their excellence made a huge impact on the future of these kids. I can’t recommend them enough.

When our lives were unexpectedly met with tragedy, we didn’t know what to do or where to turn. After speaking with Attorney Dov Sacks, we felt immensely at ease.
